About this property

Come and relax at the Lake House!

Leave the hustle and bustle behind, relax, unwind, and enjoy what this unique property has to offer. Perfect for large groups of friends or families. Tranquil lakefront home (weedy in summer months), spectacular sunsets, large spacious rooms, everything is here for you to enjoy. Outdoor features include deck, firepit, dock, kayaks, canoe. Star gaze into the vast sky at night or maybe catch a glimpse of the northern lights.

Beautiful, spacious home has loads of natural light and roam to room throughout. Everything is here, just put away your groceries, unpack and enjoy your stay. Beds for 14. Main floor offers large kitchen/dining area with 2 refrigerators/freezers, living room, sun room, 1/2 bath, laundry room, spacious master bedroom/bath. The lower level boasts another large living room, poker room, game room, full bath and 2 bedrooms.
In the loft you will find a large open sitting room which leads to a large bonus room with 3 beds and a large closet. Dish cable in the main & lower living rooms and also master bedroom. Starlink Wifi. Games and plenty of things to do inside and outside! View the gorgeous sunsets from the deck, kitchen or living rooms patios year round!

Quiet location and almost at the end of a dead end road. Outdoors offers upper and lower decks, large fire pit (firewood provided, please do not bring your own). Stargazing is amazing on a clear night. Many eagles, swans, ducks around the lake. Listen to the owls at night or the coyotes howl. Deer wander through the yard in mornings and in the afternoons. Might catch a glimpse at a bear. Several lakes to fish from for northern, bluegill, LM bass, rockmouth bass, and yellow perch.

If you are looking for a secluded, quiet get a way without the hassle of tourists, this is the experience for you. Lake here is quiet with an abundance of natural beauty. Located at the mouth of the Shakey river feeding the Shakey lakes system. Lake at house gets very weedy and marsh like in the late spring/summer/early fall months, although the channel stays open and is great for kayaking either through the winding channels back to the Shakey river or over to the large open recreational lakes. Beach area at house not ideal for swimming/muck bottom. Shakey Lakes Park is a very short drive away and offers swim beach and ice cream and snacks. Located on a small chain of lakes that you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and motorized water sports.

My cabin renters do put in/take out kayaks from Lake House dock.

There is also a cabin that sleeps 6 on the adjoining property which is also listed. If you are needing more space for reunion's, large gatherings, etc. Please inquire about availability and cost if this is something you are in need of.

I am available through text or phone if any questions or concerns arrive during your stay.

The Menominee River and multiple boat launches are very close. DeYoung's family zoo is a must while you here. Many waterfalls close by in Marinette County, visit small quaint towns within a short drive. We are also within 2-3 hours of many Upper Peninsula attractions along Lake Superior or Lake Michigan.

Beautiful home on the lake.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The fire pit down by the water was wonderful. Plenty of space in this house to spread out. The deck was great for watching the sunset. Lots of hospitality items when we arrived. Communication with the host was immediate. Thank you!

Off Grid Bach Party Fun
A bunch of my friends and family stayed here for my bachelorette party and absolutely LOVED it. It was the perfect get away of peacefulness and fun. All the girls got their own beds and even complimented how comfortable the mattress and sheets were. We had such a beautiful view of the channel. Heather was extremely on top of it with communication and helpfulness if needed. Would highly recommend!

The Perfect Weekend Getaway
This beautiful lake house is just what our group needed for a little weekend getaway! The sunrise kayaks, beautiful scenery and wildlife, quiet location, large yard and campfire, and incredibly beautiful house with rooms dedicated for games/cards exceeded our expectations! The house and property have everything you need for a great weekend. The host was incredibly kind and responsive and having the house to ourselves made it feel just like home. Highly recommend and we would love to stay again in the future!

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula and always loved the "Shakey Lakes" area. I grew up with the previous owner of the property and my family and I rented the small cabin from him in the summer of 2020 and absolutely fell in love with the property and purchased it in October. We have done some extensive updating thus far and over the next year will hopefully complete it with new carpeting in the downstairs and some fresh landscaping. When we are here working, the setting is very serene and relaxing. From watching the swans, eagles or the wildlife or just taking in some of the beautiful sunsets, we thought this would be a great place to share the experience with others looking to get away and relax.
