This place was a great spot for me to stay during a conference this week. The apartment is a perfect size and very comfortable. I only wish it had more lights (in the closet would be helpful). I also thought one of the towels did not seem clean.

Highly recommend!

We had a great little getaway here! The apartment was clean and near everything we wanted to do. It was super easy to get in touch with someone if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again!

The apartment building is a unique landmark and is located conveniently off a highway. The rental representative communicated everything necessary before, during, and after my stay timely and clearly. Although I didn't use the kitchen and laundry facilities much, they were well appointed including laundry detergent pods. I would stay here again.

Great downtown PGH property!

We loved our stay at this property! It’s perfectly situated for the cultural district, strip district, downtown, and convention center. The historic building is beautiful! I would agree with other comments that the backgrounding required upon booking seems to be a little much compared to other VRBO experiences, but it is definitely worth it in the end. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were in told for an academic conference and this Vrbo was the perfect distance from the Hilton and Cultural Center. It was clean, well-decorated, and safe. We will definitely be back.

Great experience and stay!

We have nothing negative to say, the property was clean and very cute. A little tricky to figure out parking and entrance for the first time but the directions were thorough and helpful. We had no issues and would stay again for sure - great location to everything, we walked to PPG paints arena and the strip district.

We were in town to watch the NCAA tournament games. Great spot. Close to the arena, restaurants, etc. We had a good time. Unit was clean and comfortable. Very cool place with the history of the building.

Great property

This is a beautiful building with a great fitness facility. It’s across from the Westin conference center and is quieter and has better parking than nearby hotels. The apartments are huge compared to hotel rooms and the staff at the Pennsylvanian were super helpful. The identity/credit card verification process prior to stay is onerous. Well worth it but annoying compared to just showing an ID and card at checkin when staying at hotels.

First time to Pittsburgh! Our family stayed for a week in July. The check in process was very smooth and the security desk in the lobby had friendly and supportive staff 24/7. The communication with the VRBO managing staff was efficient and clear. We also loved the central location and walked to several events and places that were on our list to visit. Similar to other reviews, the check-in steps were more than what we have usually done for other VRBO reservations.The condo is a beautiful layout and mostly redone, although the bathroom could use updating. The bed in the room was very comfortable and we appreciated the blackout shades. For the length of time we were staying, it would have been nice to have a dresser to use. The condo was very minimally stocked. We usually expect accommodations like salt, pepper, cooking oil, dish soap and a kitchen sponge but that was not provided. There was also only a thin blanket available for the sofa bed. We also had to purchase our own toilet paper for the last three days because there was not enough stocked for the week. While the condo was a wonderful place, it wasn’t very well cleaned when we arrived. There was hair in the bathtub, the floors were dusty and there was a slight mold smell. Whoever cleaned had moved food into the garbage disposal but didn’t run it because there were fruit flies when we arrived. The windows were also very dirty. This was a bit of a let down to such a beautiful condo.

The apartment wasn't as nice as advertised in the photos and set up was different but this is mostly expected and not out of the norm for these things. My main concern was the rental company - Abode. We were made to sign a contract, noticing personal information like ID and even had to send a selfie photo of ourselves. I believe this is highly invasive and a bad trend for these short term rental companies to participate in. The worst part is that you realize this AFTER you already make/pay for the booking. If I knew about this beforehand, I never would've booked this place.
