An old farmhouse, and former workshop to a carpenter/sculptor, artists Cécile and Natalie have lovingly restored this home to create a wonderful abode full of charm in the heart of a picturesque Burgundian village. The house has kept its traditional spirit (wooden beams, stone floors, an authentic staircase) while offering all the modern comforts you need to enjoy your stay: central heating, two wood burning stoves, modern bathrooms, a cosy living room, a large dining room flooded with natural light and a fully equipped bespoke kitchen with traditional, gas-fueled Lacanche stove. The house is full of games and books (English and French) for all ages, as well as original art works that give each room its own identity.
The large garden, both sunny and shady, looks out onto fields and green hills: calm and relaxation assured. There are numerous beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside, the Burgundy Canal runs along the edge of the village and the many stunning lakes of the Auxois and the Morvan are between 15 to 45 minutes drive from the house. Castles, abbeys, medieval towns, the gastronomic capital of Dijon, local vineyards, the most beautiful villages of France, the historic Beaune hospice, markets and more…a multitude of cultural and relaxing moments to enjoy with friends and family await you.
A smoker barbecue, installed in the wisteria courtyard, will also allow you to enjoy the local culinary delights under the parasols for lunch or the fairy lights as the sun sets. A perfect setting for the renowned kir royal aperitif that you will find waiting for you on your arrival.
