About this property

Beautiful Historic Stone Farmhouse with Fireplace and Pool in Bucks County

Casa Di Pietra (House of Stone) is a historic Federal Style Stone Farm House located on a quiet country road in Durham Township, Upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This rustic home is immaculately curated home awaits you and your guests. Only 90 minutes from New York City and 1 hour from Philadelphia. The original home is over 300 years old and has been tastefully updated while retaining its original charm.
A beautiful historic stone farmhouse in bucolic Bucks County. Located on a quiet country road, this lovely 4 bedroom/2 bathroom home overlooks preserved farmland in front and features a 2.5-acre back garden with a wide terrace and dining area, a pool, hot tub and fire pit. The views are spectacular! Featuring stunning original wide-plank floors throughout, the tastefully furnished and decorated Casa di Pietra is designed for your comfort while visiting one of Pennsylvania’s most desired destinations.

The living room features two generous sofas, a comfy chaise longue, an entertainment center with 50" plasma TV and stereo, cable and wireless internet, along with a games area with ping-pong table and an assortment of board games. Bluestone flooring with radiant heat keeps you cozy as you enjoy a roaring fire in wintertime, while air conditioning keeps you cool in the summer.

The updated kitchen has all-wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, soapstone countertops with an oversize farm sink and an eating bar. Cook every meal with a full assortment of LeCrueset cookware and serve on a collection of vintage and new Fiestaware.

The adjacent dining room is outfitted with a wood farm table with seating for ten underneath an oiled bronze chandelier.

Sleep comfortably in the spacious master bedroom upstairs, which features a king-sized bed with plush duvet and vintage farm nightstands, a comfy chair for reading, a television with cable and a desk with views of the property.

Also upstairs are a bedroom with a queen-sized bed overlooking the preserved farmland, and a third bedroom with two twin beds. Both are beautifully adorned with a combination of vintage and contemporary furnishings and art.

A fourth bedroom and bathroom occupy the original circa-1700s stone farmhouse – complete with original wooden floors and pie staircase – and can be closed off from the rest of the house for privacy…or in-laws!

A bathroom on the second level has tile throughout and a glass-enclosed shower and tub. The downstairs bathroom features a walk-in shower and heat lamp.

Weather permitting, enjoy meals al fresco on the front veranda at a wrought-iron table for six alongside a stone fountain, or in back under café lights at a picnic table for eight on a stone-tile terrace next to an English-style garden.

There’s something for everyone within close proximity, including Noxamixon state park, tubing the Delaware River or walking along the historic canal towpaths, farmer’s markets, antique shops, cafés and restaurants. Get lost on a pleasure drive through the rolling hills of Upper Bucks County. Or, drive south along the beautiful River Road to New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ, a short half-hour ride away. Head north to the charming and bustling town of Easton, with its walkable historic downtown area. Enjoy galleries, antique shops, restaurants and bars, and a variety of unique small businesses. Or stop in for a tour of the Crayola Factory or a trip to the nation’s oldest farmer’s market.

Casa di Pietra is new on the market. We have enjoyed filling it with an eclectic mix of art, pottery and other collectibles and treasures for the past eight years, and we now look forward to sharing this beautiful home with you and helping you plan a perfect vacation in paradise.

Please note pool and connected hot tub are open seasonally from Memorial to Labor Day weekends.

Lovely week in Bucks County

A perfect little getaway for our family of five! Natalie was the consummate host! The ease of booking, paired with her extensive knowledge and recommendations of the area, along with the beauty of her home made for a wonderful vacation. The beds were super comfy, the pool and the jacuzzi were perfect, and the grounds and home were stunning. Natalie's communication with us prior to our arrival and throughout our stay ensured we would have everything we could possibly need for our vacation. We could not have asked for a better overall experience. We highly recommend and hope to stay there again!

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Meredith and her family. Her family is beautiful, dynamic and full of positive energy. There was great communication from inquiry to post checking out. I would highly recommend her and her family if they reach out to rent your place as they took care of Casa Di Pietra as if it were there own home. Hope you all come to visit again.

Summer retreat in the country.

Casa Di Pietra was perfect for our family. Our hosts thought of everything that would be needed to make our stay comfortable. We were warmly greeted, and once in the historic home, its rustic, family friendly feel was very comforting. It took us no time to settle in. Ample, well stocked kitchen, great dining area, family room was very comfortable. Comfy bedrooms well situated so everyone had privacy and quiet time. The swimming pool is huge. We opted not to heat it so it was just as we like it, cool and refreshing. A huge thunderstorm came through the area and knocked out power...but not for us, the generator kicked in and we were back on. We ate out a lot, many places to choose from and plenty of places to explore. We just loved it.

What an amazing family! Jay and his family were warm, respectful and treated Casa Di Pietra as if it were their home. They left the home and property spotless and we would welcome them back anytime. My husband and I would highly recommend Jay and his family as renters.

Quintessential Country House

Cozy, comfortable house with all the amenities and a wonderfully well=stocked and fitted kitchen for preparing meals. The owner is an art curator and there is no end to the interesting paintings, travel collections and pottery throughout the house. The beds were very conformable, nice towels and linens and basic toiletries were provided. The property is lovely, with something for everyone: a tree swing, ping pong table, basketball hoop, porch swing, lots of space for the kids to run around, fire pit, and a swimming pool! Close by is the Kimberton Whole Foods (a real gem!) Owowcow handmade ice cream (amazing flavors, including vegan options!) delicious coffee at Fieldstone Coffee Roasters (they have Fluffernutter sammies, big hit with the kids), Lost River Caverns, Ringing Rocks Park, Nockamixon State park for fishing and hiking, and farms selling fresh eggs, dairy and baked goods. Our family totally enjoyed Casa di Pietra, a true gem! Would definitely return.

Amazing house!

This house was not only perfect for a family of 6, but was also great having the one bedroom/bathroom downstairs for a family member that has a Walker. The property was beautiful and relaxing and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway! Natalie was very responsive and even met us at the house upon arrival to take us on a quick tour

About the host

Hosted by Natalie Kates

Host profile image
I live in New York City but consider myself a citizen of the world. I love travel and am grateful to have visited and experienced some truly amazing places. Favorite trips include India, Vietnam, Africa and Turkey. My husband is Italian so I have special place in my heart for Rome and the Amalfi Coast. As a traveler I know how important the right host can be in making a trip special, so I always endeavor to create the best possible experience for my guests, whether old friends or new visitors from VRBO.

Why they chose this property

There are many stone farmhouses to choose from in Bucks County, but Casa di Pietra stands apart due to an eclectic mix of traditional, vintage and antique furnishings alongside a unique and large collection of contemporary and vintage art. The property is fully self-contained; you can easily spend your entire visit onsite as there is something for every age and interest somewhere in the house or on the grounds. And our location in Upper Bucks County allows guests easy access to the well-known New Hope area as well as to the lesser-known equally charming town of Easton, PA.

What makes this property unique

Casa di Pietra can be enjoyed year-round. Your hosts are happy to help all guests program a perfect itinerary, whether family-friendly activities, romantic getaways or anything in between. The well-equipped kitchen is a cook’s dream. Despite the age of the home, the interior is spacious and accommodating, with plenty of room to spread out for private moments of reading, TV watching, game playing or daydreaming.
