About this property
Oceanview | Big Deck | Modern Home - Crash Pad BnB
Enjoy the stunning ocean views from this beautiful 3 Bedroom 4 Bathroom home. The property is located only 5 minutes from the entrance to the Olympic National Park which allows easy access to picturesque Hurricane Ridge. Additionally, it only takes 7 minutes to get to Port Angeles’ charming downtown & waterfront where you can find wonderful restaurants and boutique shops.
This architect designed NW Contemporary mid-century modern home is set perfectly into its landscape on a dead-end street with sweeping views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca! Beautifully landscaped property with a babbling waterfall feature as the focal point & a large deck to enjoy the ocean views! This home fits perfect for those looking for a weekend getaway or hosting a family vacation!
The master bedroom has a mattress firm fully-adjustable King bed mattress, a customized bathroom with separate walk in shower and separate tub and deck access with a view.
The upstairs guest room is decorated with an aviation theme and includes pictures of two airplanes I previously co-owned; a Mooney M20E which my partner landed wheels up and a Cessna 180J on floats, which I crashed at Moses Lake. No one was hurt in either case, thankfully. This room has a queen matress firm adjustable bed. There is a newly installed full bathroom in suite.
Both Upstairs bedrooms have ceiling mounted television sets.
The downstairs bedroom has a wall-mounted TV, two full-sized bunk beds and a desk and chair. All four bathrooms are equipped with bidet toilets.
Also, I am a commercial pilot and I love to fly into Port Angeles to escape the rain from Seattle. If you would be interested in getting a private flight tour around Port Angeles send me a message and we explore the possibility of adding that into your stay!
There is a $60 late fee for every 30 minutes past the 10 am checkout.

About the host
Hosted by Daniel Anderson

Retired from military and other government service and now working harder than ever on my third career. Self-deprecatingly, we named our B&B after a near tragedy where thankfully no one was injured: my seaplane accident on June 8, 2019. My son Christian was seated to my right and Kristi was hanging from her lap belt in the seat behind him. We still fly. Seaplanes? Not so much:) Flying airplanes is our primary form of transportation to and from Port Angeles. You can watch the whole dumb thing by Googling "Crash Pad Crash Daniel Anderson".
Our primary interest in this property is our own time away from city life and shared experiences nearby in the park. The ability to enjoy such beauty hiking or skiing only 9 miles away while still having a beautiful comfortable home to retreat to is, for us, the greatest luxury. Truthfully, sharing the home is more about reducing my costs and sharing it with people who will appreciate it, than it is about making money.
I grew up in Shoreline. I'm the youngest of six. My dad was born in 1917 and served in WWII. We live half the time here and half the time in Des Moines, right under the traffic coming in and out of SEATAC.
I'm a member of Valley Fliers out of Auburn Airport. We have four IFR GPS certified airplanes; a C182Q, a C172M, a C172R & a PA-28-180. Although many of our flights are in the clouds, the cruising altitudes are low enough and the ambient temperatures high enough that there's normally no threat of accumulating ice.
I'm in love with Kristi and look forward to sharing all there is to see and do here with her and our progeny. I have two sons (21 & 18) and she has two sons and a daughter (late 20's).
All of us love all things fun including: hiking, skiing, biking, camping and sight seeing. We have factions who like to golf.

Why they chose this property
The answer is love. We love Port Angeles and the Olympic National Park and look forward to sharing stay opportunities with others who want to explore our rich inheritance and history. Our home is a great value and we are doing all we can to stock, clean and appoint it in such a way that it will truly make this a unique experience.
I have reached the summit of Mount Angeles (seen right out the kitchen window) and Mt Olympus (with the Mountaineers). Come find your own adventure in a city neighborhood where the wild life comes right to you.
You should consider this property not only because it has an interesting story to tell but because we take pride in preparing it to be a spotless and comfortable stay. You should consider it because the deck and upper interior spaces have commanding views which will add to your experience.

What makes this property unique
I have become familiar with the history of the Olympic Peninsula and upon request may be able to stop by and speak about it. Additionally, if the weather is favorable, I would be open to shared expense aerial tours. I am a commercial pilot and Certified Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII ASEL/ASES).
