Very private water front home with access to the Chincoteague Bay. Private dock for canoes, kayaks and flat bottom boats. Features a lovely pond in the front yard. Large back deck, screen porch, WiFi, private dock & fenced back yard. Nearby is Katydid, A Summer Place and Goose Bay.

NO LINENS AND TOWELS PROVIDED SO BRING YOUR OWN OR CALL US TO RENT THEM.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund  of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Fishing and fun weekend!

Very secluded house in Chincoteague. Loved the pond with snapping turtle sunning himself. The dock to the water was excellent with ladder to climb down. Fished alot. Did not catch anything but was ok. The house is very comfortable with fully stocked kitchen. Very nice outdoor furniture with separate screened in porch. We went to all places to rest.

We love this location— it offers amazing views and sunsets from the back with good-sized screen room to enjoy them from, while the pond in the front offers great bird watching. The bathroom in the main bedroom is tight, but it wasn't a problem for us. My kids enjoyed crabbing and fishing from the dock. I would be happy to return and would recommend this as a great place to unwind and enjoy all Chincoteague and Assateague have to offer.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Getaway Cottage location was nice. Loved the dock and that we were able to crab and fish from it. The cottage is small and the air conditioning needs upgraded. It was an extremely hot week and the cottage offer little relief. If they add even a window AC in the dining room that would make it nice. Almost all the doors need trimmed or replaced. They were swollen from the humidity and were very hard to open and close. The rear gate in the yard was broken looks like the wood rotted where the lad bolts were screwed into. Should have another gate on the right side of the yard

We really liked seeing the animals and frogs at the pond, but drastically underestimated how many mosquitoes would be at this location because of it. We are pretty used to them on island, but this caused us not to be able to properly utilize things like the dock, because we had to stay indoors a lot while we were at the house. I was disappointed that the screened in porch did not have direct access to the house, because that is the feature I most use and look for, and I didn't go out there much, due to "hiding" from the droves of mosquitoes. I can tell the owners really try hard to think of everything their guests might need. But this also made space for our items tricky, and we ended up having to move decorations to have a place to put our items. There was also not much storage for kitchen things- like food and cooking oils, so we had to store them on the counter for the week. I woke up stuffy the morning after we arrived, and found that the vents were terribly dirty. I initially thought it was mold, but it ended up being just dirt. I had to call the emergency number about that (felt bad but didn't want to wait another day of breathing that) because they were not open on Sunday. She said she would send someone out and she did. I gave them permission to be there when we weren't, because we were out for the day. When we came back, we were disappointed to see that the cleaner only cleaned the one I took a picture of, and not the other seven in the house, so my husband and I had to clean them ourselves. (In their defense, I did not call them about this. I didn't want to call the emergency number for a second time.) We have stayed at various places around the island, and this one, overall wasn't so bad. There were definitely things we liked. When my husband was willing to brave the bugs, he went out and sat on the dock and did some fishing and crabbing. He saw a shark, and some sting rays, which were r

Great long weekend

Our group really enjoyed this property. It’s location, close to everything, but removed from the crowds, was wonderful. We spent a lot of time enjoying the yard, screened porch and yard.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cottage was clean and stocked with most expected items. Having to provide your own linens was a bit irritating. Front, side & back yards were great! Lots of open space. Sticker burrs are a problem in the grassed areas. The burr weeds need to be minimized or eliminated. The view of the water/marsh was excellent, however, the neighbor's storage shed sits in the exact middle of your line of sight while on the screen porch. Screen porch was a highlight. The the door into/out of the house is a few steps away and not a big deal. The location was totally removed from the busy and crowded areas of Chincoteague. Neighbors were at a good distance from us and pretty quiet. While the rooms were good, he master bath leaves something to be desired. Shower and toilet are on top of each other and the tile water dam is too short. Queen mattresses are old and need to be replaced. Lastly, the dock was great to get out to the water for fishing/crabbing or just viewing! Would be awesome if the dock end were finished with a platform and seating was available. Google a satellite image. Safety is a concern as there are numerous loose boards along the length of the pier walk.

A cozy place to stay

This is a cottage home. Very comfortable with a great view and excellent access to the water down steps off the long pier. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy to feel comfortable. This time of year easy to make quick drives to restaurants, and the National Park. Entrance driveway they could paint the wooden s log white for better visibility. Sorry we had to leave.

Reviewer Comments: The house was very nice-clean, included little items that were unexpected - fly swatter, large outside shower- and clean! - We really enjoyed the pier - and caught enough large crabs for dinner one evening. The location was great - spaced nicely from other houses, and very quiet. There was a lot of brochures provided to point out activities and restaurants. Found a great boat around around the island -hit the trifecta - saw dolphins, bald eagles and ponies - which Capt. Dan said does not happen that often. Would definitely recommend this house and Harbour Rentals in general to anyone thinking of coming to Chincoteague.

Stunning sunsets

Beautiful sunsets, very private and screened in porch is by far our favorite room! We did have to advise neighboring vacationers dock is private or they would have taken over. Desk clerk at check did not have good customer service. Mattresses could use upgrading. Overall excellent property!
