We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
For the safety of all our guests and furry friends, Jefferson County requires that any pets brought to the property be up to date on their rabies vaccination.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

While there was something left to be desired by the kitchen utensils and cookware, this place is located off the beaten path in a beautiful mountainside area. Definitely worth the price. Just bring your own pot holders and pizza cutter if you plan on having pizza lol.

House was wonderful, and I loved how often Tony checked in! Will absolutely be staying here again!
Tony always answered my texts immediately and was very easy to work with. The place was just as expected; it was comfortable and all amenities were available. Towels were laid out on the beds and the comforters were cute and cozy. The place is well worn; some appliances, mostly gas stove and microwave and towel hooks were very worn out but still useable. We loved all of the amenities, space and privacy in this cabin. We would stay here again.
Cute house and private location. Host was very responsive and helpful. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfy! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed our stay. House was spacious and in a peaceful setting.
Host was most welcoming, very informative, and prompt in responding to queries. I have emailed him a list of items that could have been better, a couple that were problematical.

This was the perfect spot for my family to gather and visit family that lives in the area. The owner was a dream -- communicating effectively and checking on us frequently.

Deck furniture was not fit to sit on. Rotting and dirty. Renters should be warned about the ruts in the long driveway.
Very nice and comfortable inside, and lots of trees and space outside. Did feel a little suburban as could only walk along the gravel road past other houses.

Disliked: Location
Nice house in the woods, but don't go in summer. The AC is broken, couldn't stay very hot and humid. And still waiting to get a refund.
Nice remote location but the house definitely needs some updates. The property wasn't as clean as it should have been, definitely not vacuumed. Good size for our group of 5 and close to Harper's Ferry. Host always gave quick responses.
Tony's home was perfect for our family of 6 and exactly as advertised. Tony was extremely helpful and communicative. And the kids loved playing foosball and ping pong. The house is about a 20 minute drive from Charlestowne and Harpers Ferry. and a good respite from hiking and rafting the Shenandoah.
We went down for work during a cold snowy spell. The house was great with heat and keeping up with the demand. The hosts were in contact to make sure everything went well.
Please keep in mind if you go during snow you may need a 4 wheel drive to get in and out. But don’t see a problem with them in normal weather.
Would stay at this house again. Peaceful.

We hope we provided you with a 5-star stay!
My husband and I along with our 2 small dogs had a wonderful stay at this lovely mountain retreat. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed to cook breakfast and an easy dinner each evening. The property was beautiful with lots of tall old growth trees that were beautiful with the fall colors and even though it was in a community you felt like you were in a secluded mountain retreat because most of the homes were obsured by the trees; and it is on a dead end road which got little traffic. As others have said the roads are gravel and some are steep (which is to be expected on a mountain) but we have an SUV so we did not mind this... it added to the mountain ambience.
I agree with another review that suggests a truck/SUV for this location due to the steeper gravel road and driveway. The house was very clean on the inside and had what we needed. Tony texted/responded quickly to check on us (though we didn’t need multiple reminders that check out was at 10 a.m. as we always leave early from places to get on the road). The home was very quiet and private. It had a nice game room and hot tub plus 2 bedrooms we didn’t utilize. We enjoyed our visit…close to our daughter in Maryland but not too close:) Thank you for the use of the home.
This cabins location is very remote which is what we were looking for. Absolutely recommend AWD vehicles only. The host was excellent in his response to texts and checking in with us along our stay. I did inform the host that the cleaning service is less than mediocre. The basement and steps were clearly not vacuumed with visible clumps of leaves, dirt and debris. The return vents were caked in dust and animal hair. The beds and linens were up to par and mattresses slept well. The hot tub was a great addition as well as the game room (even though it was filthy, the kids didn’t seem to mind). I think we would stay here again if we were assured the cleaning was up to par.

Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back and offer an even better experience next time. :)
My family and I enjoyed our weekend at this comfortable cabin in the mountains. The six of us co-habited for a few days and there was plenty of room to move around comfortably without being on top of each other. The bedrooms are good sized and the game room kept my kids occupied for hours. The hot tub was an added bonus and it was warm and ready for use upon our arrival. The bathrooms are well stocked with all the necessary toiletries and we found all the equipment we needed in the kitchen to make delicious breakfasts and dinners. Linens and towels were provided which helped eliminate bulky items while packing. We loved being able to have our dog, Maisie, with us and we know she enjoyed the ample space to explore outside while on her walks. The owners are easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any inquiries. This was definitely a nice place to stay at for our weekend get-away.

Great Stay – Plenty to Do at the Cabin and in Nearby Towns
Overall, we had a great stay! There was plenty to do in the local area, and we especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The game room was a lot of fun—the ping pong table was a big hit for us adults; however, the foosball table would probably be more enjoyable for kids, as it is on the smaller side. We also appreciated the closet stocked with board games. One highlight of our trip was rafting with River Riders—highly recommend asking for Jeff as your guide! He was fantastic! The cabin was just as described in the listing. A couple of things to keep in mind: the walkway from the driveway to the front door is quite narrow and lined with large rocks, which made it a bit tricky for our older guests to navigate. Also, since the cabin is located on steep gravel mountain roads, it’s best to have a vehicle that can handle those conditions.Giving cleanliness 4/5 stars — the interior was clean, but the outside could have used a bit more attention. The host was great with communication—we were able to reach them day or night, and they were very responsive and helpful. All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Just Okay Property
The kids area and the hot tub were fantastic. The rooms and kitchen worked well. Entire place could use a deep clean and paint touch up. Multiple broken items upon arrival that needed fixing including a kitchen cabinet dining table chair bedroom closet. Laundry room was really dirty and awkwardly placed filled with other sheets and blankets - not washing detergent provided. Only got 6 towels - asked for additional and a few spares and never received them. The place served its purpose we enjoyed the time in the country and mountains but wouldn’t stay again unless the issues were addresses. Lastly the deck has some broken boards and soft spots so we were not really able to use it. Overall place needs to be fixed up a bit. We enjoyed our time together.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Huckleberry Hill in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
