The perfect location for walks in nature, explore amazing wineries, and to find adventure. The house has so much character, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring. I will definitely be back!
No where in the listing does it mention that this home is right next to train tracks with active night time activity. We were woken up by trains several times in the night. Not recommended unless you are a heavy sleeper or a train enthusiast. It is not the quiet peaceful home in the woods that it is pretended to be.
This quiet, historical home is beautifully appointed and situated by a small pond. Excellent beds, exquisite decor, serene setting and a hot tub set under a charming pergola. The home is set in a quiet area on a dead end street. The pond is in front with a small road and railway beyond the trees. We also sat on the porch to watch the train and the dogs being walked. They were far enough away so as not to disturb, but if you love trains as I do, this was a treat—trains were not heard or felt within the house. The house is close to town as well as the NPS visitors center. I was so pleased that we chose this home for our Labor Day holiday.

Liked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The stairs going to the upstairs bedrooms are narrow and treacherous. The bathtub for the upstairs bedroom for showering was difficult to get into and one guest felt unsafe for showeringOverall the house was clean and roomyThe kitchen was very nice and the downstairs bathroom is convenientWe have stayed at many privately owned facilities. We found the communication to be cumbersome and unnecessarily complicated. We had particular difficulty gaining entry as there is spotty internet at the location and although we arrived later than the 4 PM start of the contract, the entry information was not forthcoming until we were at the property.
Beautiful home, close to the attractions and very quiet. Only downside was the Hot tub which was a major reason we rented it, cover was wore out allowing debris to get in and wouldn’t heat above 90 degrees and the controls for the jets one was missing and they would not function all the time. Communication with the host was excellent and speedy responses sent a maintenance worker out but was not able to solve the problem at the moment
This was a lovely house for our family to stay while we explored Harper’s Ferry. We could easily walk to town or the trails, and it had plenty of space for two teenage boys (while their parents enjoyed the hot tub!). We would definitely stay here again!
We had a very cozy stay! On the colder days, we stayed in; the inn was warm, quiet, and comfortable and we enjoyed making use of the grill and kitchen amenities to cook for ourselves. On one nicer day, we made the (very) short drive to Harper's Ferry, and also used the outdoor fire pit to make s'mores. I appreciated the host checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It's helpful to know that the home is not walkable to Harper's Ferry, due to the highway, but otherwise you're very close!

Easy access to walk to locations and the town. Minutes to Harper's Ferry National Park. Fenced in yard for dogs was a plus. Walking trail to town seconds away. Hot tub was welcomed after hours of hiking/walking. Cool property.

Very nice property within easy walking distance to downtown Harpers Ferry. Hot tub was so clean and felt great after a day of tubing....Grill was perfect for making family meals....We had a really nice time
We were so pleased with everything but particularly enjoyed all the wildlife nearby and the great selection of books found within the home.
Five stars and highly recommended!
It was our first time in Harpers Ferry and this place was perfect for us! We were right in the thick of everything - so close to the historical areas, trails, food/drink - but we still had all the privacy that comes from being on a smaller street. The house was exactly as described and convenient for our family, and the host was very communicative. All in all this was a wonderful experience.
We booked this property for a weekend getaway with friends. The home is lovely and spacious. We appreciated the decor- there are beautiful touches throughout.
We were able to enjoy the outdoor amenities such as the hot tub, hammock and fire pit.
The home is an easy walk to downtown Harper’s Ferry for shopping, dining and sightseeing.
I would definitely return for another visit!
