I have never had such a bad experience with a rental. It was VERY dirty. Spent hours on the phone with VRBO/Host to try and get someone to come clean the pool which they couldn’t do until the next day. The pool btw is very very small. The house was very outdated and poorly cleaned. I wish we had a better experience after driving nine hours to get there. I usually would let it go and have never left a bad review, but I think this rental needs a huge renovation along with more attentive cleaning. They were able to give us some money back due to our poor experience but after HOURS on the phone and videos and photos to prove it. It ruined the first day of our vacation and it was frustrating to waste time doing that. The only great thing about this rental is that the location is amazing. I would not rent here, again.

Overall, we had a really good stay and felt this property was exactly what we expected for the price of renting a house this close to the beach in Destin during late July. The location was excellent and made getting to the beach incredibly convenient. The home was generally clean when we arrived, and the beds were comfortable.There were a few areas where some TLC would make a big difference. The outdoor patio furniture showed some wear, and a few minor maintenance items could be addressed, such as the broken outlet cover by the bedside, a dim bedroom light, the bathroom door scraping the floor, and the A/C vent blowing directly toward the bed.The kitchen was functional but could use a few updates, including more frying pans, complete measuring cups and spoons, sharper knives, and better cutting boards. We also noticed a couple of housekeeping details that were missed, including mold on the outside of the shower and a contact lens left on one of the bedposts.Overall, none of these issues took away from a great vacation. We’d happily stay here again, especially because the location is hard to beat.

This is the first time I’ve written a negative review but feel renters should be aware. First issue was with the entry code to get in. The last character in the code was wrong and took a while to figure it out. When I called no one answered but they remotely unlocked the door. The exterior doors do not latch. Have to enter the code in order to keep the door latched and reenter the code every time you enter the front. The door on the top back porch has no handle to open it from the outside. If you close the door you need someone from the inside let you in. The front door is filthy and the railings need paint. The worse thing was the three full trash bins that were at the end of the driveway that sat there from Saturday morning until Wednesday afternoon in 90 degree heat. Had to smell that every time you got in your car or walked to the beach. Actually smelled worse after they were emptied. Also be aware that the houses are all very close together and the house next to where we statyec allows pets. Had to listen to barking dogs running around the pool next to us the first couple days. The local police did a good job quieting party goers for two nights around 10:30PM.

We enjoyed our stay. House to beach is reasonable walk, but can get pretty hot. Beds were clean and comfortable and the hot water was plenty hot. The house could use some upkeep for the price, but overall excellent.

The only reason this home did not just get a one star all the way is the location. Don't let the pictures fool you on this one. Cleanliness was awful. Burnt out lightbulbs, broken door locks, broken outside furniture, the garage looks like a usable space until you realize everything was broken. Rugs in the home are disgusting and couches in the basement level need replaced. Overall, for the price a very bad experience when you consider other options around the area.

The location was excellent. The private beach access was great. Neil was a very attentive host and communication was terrific. The kitchen was very well stocked and plenty of beach towels.

The Perfect Vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at this Vrbo property. It was perfect for our group, offering everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The location couldn’t have been better, just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, which made getting around easy and enjoyable. The home was clean and well-maintained. The host was incredibly friendly, communicative, and quick to respond to any questions we had, which made the experience even better. We truly felt at home and would absolutely stay here again. This house is out dated, beds were very hard, pillows like a brick, the locks on the bedrooms downstairs do not work only secured by a small chain. You can run the toast and coffee pot at the same time without it tripping and turning all the appliances off. The backyard needs serious landscaping. The master has a balcony but only has a door knob on the Inside no knob to enter back in from the balcony.The pool was dirty and tiny. The nest thingy was the location and very close to the beach

Everything was just like the pictures except for the pool. The pool is not very big and only 2 people could get in comfortably. Any issues we had we reported and they were taken care of promptly. Nice neighborhood and we enjoyed our stay.

Just ok

First the good things: proximity to the beach was great and the host was responsive. The place was able to accommodate our group of 12. The not so great? The pictures were obviously taken many years ago. While in its prime I am sure it was awesome, it really needs some work. Door handles fell off in our hands, wood was rotting in places on the porch, the back patio lights were hit and miss with many burnt bulbs, the pool needed work. Speaking of the pool, we called it the puddle. It is extremely small and ok for dipping but definitely not swimming. Ordinarily, I would let a lot slide, but for the price (24K for two weeks) it was a let down. Meanwhile we were surrounded by really nice properties with full sized pools. While it was ok, for the money, I feel certain we could have done better. Live and learn.

Beach Love

Our stay was wonderful. The house itself was perfect for our family. The pool was much smaller than it appears on line. I’m not sure how 14 guests would fit in it…there were only 7 of us and it was crowded. That didn’t stop us from enjoying it though. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again!
