Escape to "The Retreat," a beautifully updated historic beach cottage in the heart of Pacific Grove, offering an AMAZING LOCATION that puts you steps from everything! Originally built in 1908 within the charming Pacific Grove Retreat, this home blends rich history with every modern convenience for a cozy, comfortable, and unforgettable getaway. Pacific Grove STR #0084.

Step inside to an inviting open floor plan where the living room seamlessly flows into the fully stocked kitchen. Relax by the huge gas fireplace, enjoy your favorite shows on the Smart Samsung TV with streaming apps, and take in the abundant natural light from the soaring ceilings and skylights. The dining room opens directly to a private deck, creating an incredible indoor-outdoor living experience. Here, you'll find an outdoor living room with another huge gas fireplace, an outdoor eating area, BBQ, and for ultimate relaxation, a hot tub and outdoor shower.

Upstairs, a spacious living room loft provides additional comfortable seating, another Smart Samsung TV, and a third gas fireplace. Need to catch up on some work? An adjustable standing desk is also available.

The home features two comfortable bedrooms on the first floor, each with a queen bed. The master bathroom offers a bathtub shower, while the second bathroom boasts a luxurious steam shower.

You'll rent directly from the owner, ensuring personalized communication with me and my local house manager. I love sharing my home with guests eager to experience all that Pacific Grove has to offer.

You simply can't beat this location! Everything you desire is within easy reach: stroll to downtown for charming restaurants and shops, or head to Lovers Point Beach for sun and sea. The Pacific Grove Golf Course is nearby, and the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row are just a mile away on the scenic beach trail. Day trips to Carmel for shopping, Pebble Beach for golfing, or Big Sur for breathtaking hikes are all easy drives. Or, simply stay in and unwind in the hot tub, read a book by a cozy fire, and truly relax.

Please note: The Pacific Grove Retreat is a historic, close-knit neighborhood. While we want you to fully enjoy your stay, this property is not suitable for parties. We strictly observe the guest maximum of 4 and strive to be good neighbors by maintaining a peaceful environment. This is an ideal location! Perfect for walking or biking all around. Walk to restaurants and even the aquarium and beach! Kitchen amenities were great- grill, spices, etc…. Hot tub, fireplace, and outdoor dining were great.

Perfect location

We love this house and have stayed twice. It’s remodeled nicely, walking distance to the beach and downtown shopping. Kitchen is large and fully stocked. We also enjoy the back patio grill, fireplace & jacuzzi. We will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful experience at this property! It’s close to the beach, clean and comfortable! On a nice quiet street with restaurants walking distance. Can’t beat the location near Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach, etc. Would definitely recommend staying here again!

Perfect getaway

We were in love with this house that is perfectly located close to the beach in PG. The check in process and communication with the host was easy and quick to respond. The house features were exactly as listed and met our expectations. We cannot wait to be back with another couple and also do a getaway with our kids. You should not look anywhere else and book this beautiful bungalow.

Wonderful Pacific Grove Haven

We LOVED staying in Margaret’s place in Pacific Grove. It’s in the most perfect location really close to lots of shops and restaurants, a block from the beach and a block from a park. We stayed there with friends and our kids and it was the perfect cozy spot for our families. Communicating with Margaret and the property manager was also seamless. They were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here and we can’t wait to come back!

Great Coastal Family Trip

Great proximity to walk to the coast and downtown PG. Kitchen has all the items you need and beach chairs are also available. WiFi is great if you have to work. Quiet neighborhood and would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

The house was in such a great location! It was an easy walk down to Lovers Point, and very close to lots of shops and restaurants. The house itself is very cute and had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Margaret was a fantastic host! She quickly answered any questions we had and made us feel welcome. We were even able to check-in (which could not be easier) a little early, and extended our stay by a night. Would definitely stay here again!

Last Minute PG getaway

Nice home, great location and the owner was easy to work with. Home was comfortable for my family 4 and had everything we needed for a last minute getaway. It's close to town, delicious restaurants, and beautiful lovers point. And the backyard jacuzzi hit the spot after biking back from the aquarium in the rain. Overall a great weekend.

Romantic Hideaway

The place was exactly what I needed. The house is in great condition with lots of high-tech amenities (with easy instructions and manuals) but the best part was the location. It was less than a 5-minute walk to the water in one direction and downtown (restaurants, bakery, market) in the other. The backyard is cozy with a ready-to-go hot tub and fireplace. Initially, we were worried about the neighbors being so close, but that quickly went away. The host was responsive to my questions before and while we were at the property. The listing was right on. Highly recommend this host and house.

Home away from home!

Our family absolutely loved staying at this rental. It truly was our home away from home. I loved star gazing from the loft upstairs and my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub every night before bed. The kitchen was perfect for baking and cooking which we enjoy doing. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were super comfy. We had to find a last minute rental after Highway 1 collapsed near Big Sur and Margaret and Frank were kind and accommodating. Margaret even went out of her way to get a beach wagon for our 3 year old daughter. We will be back to see Big Sur and more of the Monterey area and will definitely be staying here again. I highly recommend :)
