Experienced Hatteras Island vacationers always look forward to returning to Breakwater and the sea. Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this kinetic oceanfront home achieves a fresh perspective without equal. Although outfitted for fine living, the decor is fun and welcoming with contemporary art, metal railings in turquoise, and bleached juniper. Mesmerizing ocean views are framed by full-length living room windows or can be enjoyed while dining on the furnished sun deck with steps down to the grill and beach walkway. Multilevel design features one main bedroom on the bottom level and two bedrooms and a bath on the second level along with a laundry closet. Step up just a half flight to the sunny living area with an entertainment center, fireplace, and soaring ceilings. The third level overlooks the living room and features a dine-in kitchen to delight culinary aficionados. An alluring main bedroom with TV offers a Jacuzzi, a bath with a shower, and a small shaded deck with a built-in bench. Topside, a wee loft with a dormer window will attract the kids.

We did love how close it was to the beach and the bright and beachy wall color. Just really didn...

We did love how close it was to the beach and the bright and beachy wall color. Just really didn't care for the 30 + flies waiting for our arrival, the dirty dishes in the drawers and cabinets, dead bugs on the carpet, the leaking septic pipe that is right above the entry to the pool table area, the non locking sliding glass door, and other things in need of repair. Also we really didn't like the mold and mildew smell which was the strongest in the downstairs bath. Not sure if an old, moldy tub was "rebathed" and never removed. We did like that it had an outdoor rinsing off area with a door that mostly covers the opening!

Very Nice

Great location, perfect beach access and beautiful home. Lots of stairs, and a quirky atmosphere, with a nice layout! We had some issues with a leaking dishwasher and window as well as cleaning service before we entered the home, but all in all 4 stars for the home itself.

Not what I expected

I expected for the money I was paying for the property to be much cleaner. It was pretty dirty and the kitchen/fridge stunk like rotten food. Not impressed.
