Lovely stay
We rented the whole house and it was perfect for our extended family. Cozy, comfortable, clean. The host was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant next door was great too.

UTV Riding
We would highly recommend this property to anyone who loves country living like we do. We were greeted by Rick the property manager who spoiled us with a welcome basket of fresh baked breads, fresh raspberry jam and fresh eggs. And, he had some meade moonshine waiting for us upon our arrival. We loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was awesome with a huge dining table also for card and board games after our days out on the trail. Having the old schoolhouse restaurant right next door was heavenly. The food was delicious and home-cooked. The restaurant closes at 2pm on Sunday and weekdays. Since we were expected to be back much later in the day from riding, Rick and his crew one day made us BBQ ribs and cheesy tater casserole that they delivered to us upon our arrival back to the house. It was very handy that we had 2 ovens in the kitchen to warm up our food! The scenery in the area consists of beautiful rolling hills and the weather was very nice. This house is in the heart of Amish country so be prepared to see lots of horses and buggies which we loved. Most roads and highways in Monroe County are ATV/UTV friendly and if you prefer riding trails instead, there are several up by Black River Falls which is close enough to get to from the house. There are lots of bar & grill places and we also found an Amish cheese store and more! We would definitely stay again!

Jeepers!
The check in was very easy. Rick, the owner stop in to welcome us with some goodies. It was great to have 6 bedrooms & 6 bathrooms. Beds were comfortable with nice linens and towels. The kitchen area has a large and a smaller dining room table, along with an island, this worked great for our group of 10. The house was clean and inviting. It stormed the evenings we were there, Rick offered his shed for our jeeps. He also called to make sure we were all safe after the storms. Due to the extreme hot weather Rick added another air conditioner for us, extra fans & had the firepit filled with wood. Rick, thank you for all your kindness! The Jeepers truly appreciated all did, you are great host & we had an awesome time! We hope to visit again!

Beautiful countryside get-away!
This was a family gathering with ages from 15 to 83. The downstairs space was perfect for us to gather and have a meal of play games (cribbage, mafia, euchre). We enjoyed visiting the animals on the farm (goats, horses, cows, sheep, alpacas) and walking the Elroy-Sparta state trail behind the house/inn. You'll be in the heart of Amish country, so enjoy farm-fresh eggs and the clip-clop of horses hooves as they pass by (there is also a lot of semi-traffic as this is a busy road). We would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay!
We stayed at the Trailside Inn with 5 other couples. A great location for biking the Elroy Sparta Bike Trail. The house was the perfect size for our group. The owners Rick and Deb were great to work with. Rick went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. When I said we could use more patio chairs within an hour he was back with 4 more chairs. Great restaurant with delicious homemade pie and mercantile store right next to the property.
