Enjoy a stay in Greendale, WI a National Historic Landmark!

Built in 1936, our Apple Court home has been lovingly, accurately restored, decorated, and furnished to 1930s styles. Owned and operated solely by the Greendale Historical Society, we have added modern amenities such as flat screen TV, WiFi, A/C, fully functional kitchen, and modern bathrooms.

Stroll the nearby paths to discover the history of Greendale, built in the 1930s Great Depression. One of only three "Greenbelt Communities" Greendale was built to provide jobs and housing for moderate income families.

In just two years, thousands of previously unemployed workers built 572 living units. Over 100 families moved in the first two weeks of May, 1938. By design, the homes were built close to the street or court. This allowed the living room to be located at the other side of the house facing the yard and its picturesque views.

Stayed with our family. Loved the history, the pictures and the story. Took us back to time spent in our own grandparents’ houses while growing up but with modern conveniences. Would definitely stay again!

It was obvious that a great deal of care and consideration went into the restoration and decoration of the house as well as care for guests' comfort. We loved the house and reading all of the historical information within.

Lovingly restored historic home

What a pleasure to stay in this super clean, lovingly restored historic home. Greendale is a charming community with a vibrant downtown, great walking trails, and interesting history. Make sure to stop in at the Greendale Historical Society to learn more about the home and see their displays. It was a great stay and I highly recommend!

Just wonderful!

We enjoyed a peaceful, along with historical stay on Apple Ct. it is obvious that all details for a comfortable stay have been thought of. Items displayed on the walls, the fun downstairs 1/2 bath and the furniture are an added treat! Make sure to visit the downtown Welcome Center. So easy to walk to. Would definitely stay again.

Quaint Stay at a Historic Location

Our group was a small girls weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean. The only downside was partial curtains in the living room and no curtains in the kitchen. As a city girl, I'm always more comfortable with something over the window. :) I recommend this stay to anyone wanting a unique experience in a cozy home with historic significance.

We enjoyed the experiencevof this lovely historic home. However, as we entered the home it smelled extremely musty throughout. Therefore we needed to open windows to try and air it out. To our dismay several of the window sills were full of dead flies and trapped live flies which entered the room . We would love to stay again but we recommend airing out the unit and cleaning window sills.

Great Location-Comfortable Home

Many thanks to the Greendale Historical Society. This Greendale original home is restored/renovated in the most lovely way. It is walkable to to the quaint village of downtown Greendale with shops and restaurants. I enjoyed a outdoor concert at the Gazebo and Farmer's market. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and the essentials were provided. I highly recommend as a perfect home away from home if you're in the area and I look forward to my next stay.
