About this property

Whiskey Rock | Private Estate on 50 acres | Event Friendly | Spectacular Views

Whiskey Rock stretches across 50 private acres in the mountains outside Asheville, offering a rare mix of spacious lodging, thoughtful design, and quiet mountain views. This estate includes a fully renovated modern farmhouse as the main lodge, two custom-built cabins, pastures, ponds, barns, and generous outdoor living spaces that make it ideal for family gatherings, retreats, group getaways, and wedding weekends.
Set beside Pisgah National Forest and surrounded by long-range Blue Ridge Mountain scenery, the property creates an easy rhythm of mornings on the deck, afternoons exploring the land, and evenings under a wide mountain sky filled with stars and fireflies. Everything at Whiskey Rock is furnished, equipped, and maintained with intention so guests can settle in and enjoy their time together.

Location: The home sits 15 minutes from Weaverville and about 30 minutes north of downtown Asheville, with simple access along paved roads before the final private gravel approach. Guests are 35 minutes from the Biltmore Estate, 45 minutes from Asheville Regional Airport, and close to some of Western North Carolina's most loved outdoor experiences, including hiking in Pisgah National Forest, Navitat Ziplines, and skiing at Wolf Ridge.
(An all-wheel or 4x4 vehicle may be helpful in winter weather.)

The Property: Whiskey Rock was designed for groups of all sizes who want space to gather and also unwind separately. The property includes:

Main Lodge: A 3,600+ sq ft modern farmhouse with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, hardwood floors, and a great room centered around a stone fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals for everyone, and multiple seating areas offer room to spread out.

Two Cabins — Big Ivy & The Pisgah: Each cabin includes a private bedroom, ensuite bathroom, small coffee station, and a twin sleeping loft, giving families and larger groups flexible, comfortable accommodation.
Across the estate, guests will find porches, decks, a screened porch, patios, and open-air gathering spaces. The koi pond, trout-feeding pond, and rolling fields invite slow walks, morning coffee outside, or simply time to take in the mountain views. Kids have room to explore, and the property welcomes dogs.

Experience: Guests often spend long afternoons outdoors, enjoying the fire pit, reading on the porches, or wandering the 50 acres of mountain landscape. With year-round mountain views, easy access to Pisgah National Forest hiking trails, and wide-open space for nature walks, Whiskey Rock feels like your own corner of the Blue Ridge. At night, the sky fills with stars, and fireflies light up the fields—a signature WNC experience.

Guest cabins were clean and well put together tho we didnt use them . The main house was fairly dirty upon arrival. Grill was filthy , floors and carpets were dirty, old laundry in washer , many dirty dishes mixed in with clean ones. For a 2 night stay at almost 2,000 we expected more attention to cleanliness honestly. The property has a lot to offer only for outdoor lovers and only 35-40. Min to Asheville close enough to go enjoy town , it’s away from town but still in a neighborhood with plenty of neighbors you both see and hear. Not secluded even though it’s a “ 50 acre “ property. Non issue for us but can see where some wouldnt be expecting neighbors in this setting. If you’re going w a group , event , multiple couples good spot, our only complaint was cleanliness

Amazing Stay for our big family

Our stay at Whiskey Rock was Amazing!! It's the perfect place for our big family of 18 people. Each of my 2 daugthers' families stayed in the 2 tiny houses on the property and we spent most of our time around the fire pit eating and roasting marshmellows. We will most definitely be back

Malfunctioning fire alarms

3 of our 8 nights were severely disturbed with fire alarms going off in the middle of the night in 3 separate buildings on 3 separate nights waking adults & terrifying children. Yonder has dismissed our complaint with a “sorry” & denying an issue with the alarms. These weren’t chirping low batteries. These were hard wired alarms emitting full blown alarms in the middle of the night. No one in our group smokes or vapes. Please contact me for more information. I am very unhappy with Yonder’s handling of our complaint.

Whisky Rock/Thanksgiving

The property accomodatiions were as described and the two cabins on the property were as described and fit our parties needs. There were some disappointments with the overall maintenance such as: 1. A broken faucet handle in the Master Bath. 2. The vents and AC/ Heatpump returns were disgustingly discolored, dirty and perhaps even home to mold. 3. There were numerous windows which had cobwebs (mostly outside) 4. There were several lightbulbs which did not function 5. The property had litter in evidence such as beer cans, broken solar fixtures and plastic bottles and caps. 6. Several comments regarding mattresses being well worn. Paying over $12, 000 for this stay was a bit heavy and charging $400 for both the early check- in as well as late check - out was way over the top.

Couldn't have been better

We had a group of 15 stay at this property for a small wedding / birthday celebration. The house it absolutely stunning, huge and well stocked. We had a late brunch one morning with all of us seated at the table and played board games late into the night on the big comfy couch. The grounds are also beautiful - we had so much fun having fires, playing corn hole and exploring the trails on property. One thing I'll note is the cabins are further away from the main house than we expected, and are definitely a legit walk or drive at night. I had a lot of questions and requests and working with Yonder was great - they were always responsive and kind (even when my friend's car got stuck in the mud and we weren't able to get out of the house until well past checkout because we were waiting for a tow truck). We did end up having to pay some damages for the car getting stuck but the lawn was damaged so makes sense. We had such a fun, memorable weekend and can't wait to return! 10/10 would stay again (and hope to)

60th b'day as a great family event on this outstanding property.

Absolutely amazing mountain location, family facility and furnishings. Super clean, all amenities and then some. We are very happy with our stay and the facilities. We are not used to dealing with a third party agency for VRBOs, but we got details worked out, including some special accommodation to allow a decorator in to hang some balloons before our guest of honor arrived. Pisgah NF proximity for hikers and rolling hill roads for bikers were a real plus. We loved the trails on and near the property and lucked out with the weather - its all set up for rain or shine, and easily accommodated our 12 adults, 1 teen, and 1 baby... and our dog. She loved the trails. Excellent proximity to Asheville for those that wanted to run in... we had a story-telling, banjo fellow by the fire pit outside, and it was just great to experience out there... Easy access for our military members from Ft. Bragg, as well as Nashville, and Pittsburgh so for us outstanding location. One note would be to watch for the fees and taxes - our 3-day booking added up to almost another 30% of day rate in fees, with cleaning, etc. It was all worth it to us!

Family Reunion

Spacious home with many features and nice outside cabins for extra sleeping space. About 15 minutes from Weaverville and 30 minutes from Asheville. Located in hilly area with farms and ranches, some views of hills and many trails. For a big group...an excellent home and site. Well decorated, good wifi, and 4 large TVs. Several outdoor eating areas and 2 firepits with large lawn areas and outdoor platforms for relaxation.

Fantastic Family Week!!

The whole family thought that the property was amazing, and the kitchen was extremely well stocked, from KitchenAid mixer which we used to make fresh pizza dough, to a large All Clad slow cooker which we used to make pulled pork. The double oven was helpful for feeding a large group. The older kids/young adults were very happy having their own spaces up at the two cabins, which were a walk away (suitable for teens, but I'd worry about younger kids up there without an adult present). It was perfect for our crew! Being in the mountains was nice...so much cooler in summer time. There was a great swing and hammock which were often used, and the cornhole boards provided hours of fun for all! Great pavilion on property for yoga, workouts or a family performance night if that's your thing. We had one slight issue the first night where the youngest child (4) locked a bedroom door from the inside and promptly fell asleep (it was a keyed lock and we called the emergency number to see where the key was, but they didn't know)...we were finally able to rouse the child to unlock the door. I cannot say enough good things about the house. Comfy beds, nice linens and towels, great water pressure, etc. Book this place!

Pleasant mountain home

A super pleasant mountain home with plenty of space to accommodate our group. The linens were soft and the beds were comfy. The property was very well kept and the fire pits were stocked with wood. The home had plenty of community seating from the dining rooms and the living room. There were plates and kitchen ware galore! The only thing I couldn’t find was a vegetable peeler, which was not a big deal. The cleanliness was rated okay, because of the pesky sugar ants in the kitchen and in the master bathroom. The exterminator came and sprayed outside upon our arrival, but did not help the unwanted guest from crawling around the sinks. The home is about 15 minutes from walker falls, which was beautiful. I recommend taking a 4x4 vehicle to this home, especially the cabins. The rocks are slightly bigger than your average gravel driveway. I also suggest you clearly define the main house with a different sign, every guest we had missed the first turn to the main house. Other than that, great home and great listing!
