UP Snowmobile Trip

We had 4 guys staying here for our UP snowmobile trip. The house is fantastic! It was very clean and well stocked so no looking for paper towels or trash bags etc........It was a very comfortable place to come back to after some long days riding. We will definitely be booking this rental again in the future.

Fall in the UP

Our group of 5 seniors had a great 5 night stay. Some of us have stayed in many vacation rentals (including 2 others on this very road) and we all agreed that this was by far the best equipped property ever. It was so nice to have basic cooking ingredients stocked in the kitchen with plenty of utensils, cookware and drinkware-even a martini shaker! It was clean and in a beautiful setting with many lovely touches. The lighted path to the beach, fire pit, and cool corncrib gazebo was magical. The property was easy to find and is very close to the state park and other beautiful drives. The house is big enough for three couples to share if two people don’t mind twin beds. The two fairly minor negatives (one of the twin beds had a protective bed covering on it with no mattress cover over it, making it an uncomfortable sleep for an adult, and the coffeemaker was very clogged up with what appeared to be sand ? and so was very slow-a problem for 5 coffee drinkers!) were communicated to the owner and she responded quickly. While these problems were not corrected during our stay, it sounds like they may be addressed in the future. Other than those two things, it was exactly as advertised and we appreciated the use of the property. It is easy to see why it has the name it does. It became our happy place for a brief time. Perfection!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway we loved the house. The property is beautiful. So many special touches to the home. We really enjoyed the fireplaces, flameless candles, comfy bed and huge shower. The deck is very inviting however we spent most of our time at the private beach. It was hard to leave during the day to go to the Porkies, waterfalls and other local things we came to see. Make sure to plan a couple days of your trip to just enjoy the property. We both miss the beach and can't wait to come back.

Vey Happy!

My wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I had a great stay at Christel and Chad's UP Happy Place! The house is in an excellent location, private and yet not remote. There was plenty of space inside for us to kick back and relax -either together or in our own spots. We prepared a couple of dinner meals (used a grill one night - perfect!) and had all the cooking utensils, pots and pans we needed. The house is nicely, thoughtfully decorated, and was squeaky clean. What I really remember, though, was the walk down to Lake Superior, and the walks along the beach. Amazing. Christel was super responsive, and attentive to our needs. An excellent host.

The Beach

We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect. The home is clean and welcoming. All of the amenities worked perfectly. We didn't use the grills as we ate out as much as possible. No cooking on our girls trips! 😅. The beach was beautiful morning and night! We are going back again next year!WeWareglingback again next year!

Awesome beach area

We really enjoyed our stay and plan on staying here again next time we are in the area. There was a very large sandy beach area that we did a campfire every night. The house was clean. The bathrooms were recently renovated and look great.

Great location!

The home was a great location for the Porcupines and surrounding waterfalls. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The property is tucked into the woods and very private. The beach was an added bonus. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. We are planning on returning to this little gem. If you’re looking in this area for a rental, this is the place!!

Truly Superior accommodations!

The Manson home is beautiful with everything you need for a perfect weekend getaway or extended stay. With the majestic Lake Superior shoreline only a stone's throw from the house and the Porcupine Mountains a short drive away, breathtaking views abound. We'd stay at their home again in a heartbeat. Everything about the experience was great!

Cozy and comfortable

We stayed in a few rentals while in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This was by far our favorite. It was so clean, so beautifully decorated, and so comfortable. Definitely the best beds we had on this trip, super comfortable with crisp white linens. The location on the beach was ideal. We were able to rock hunt and collect driftwood while watching the sunset, then take the lighted path back to the house. Our checkout chore list was a bit extensive considering the cleaning fee we were charged. Scaling this back would be our only suggestion.

The Perfect Place!!

Not sure how to even express how much we loved this beautiful home and location! It had everything we were looking for. The home wa very clean, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautifully decorated and gorgeous master bedroom. But the best part was the ambience of the beautifully lighted deck and path to the lake were we enjoyed a campfire along the water!! So relaxing and then we had the God given opportunity to see the Northern Lights! It was an amazing experience and a memory that will last forever. Hope to return again! We are often referred to as the Manson 3, or the three best friends. Chad and Christel have been married for almost 20 years, and have an amazing son, Connor, who will be a high schooler this year. We have two amazing Schnauzer puppies, and love all the things about the UP.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to this area for 10 years, and had been looking for the exact right spot for a year or so. When Christel walked into the home she knew this was her happy place. Everything about it screamed us, and we couldn't be happier about the decision!

What makes this property unique

This home is remote, yet right off a main road. It has a beautiful beach on Superior. It provides solitude and many activities. It really is a piece of heaven.
