We enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures show the property pretty well. The lighted path to the water is cool and the beach set up is very relaxing and nice. We stayed in late October at the tail end of the color season but I imagine this property is great to stay at during all seasons.

This was our second year staying here and it was perfect! The house is clean, well stocked, and the beds are very comfortable. The fireplace was nice to have on the chillier mornings. The beach access on Lake Superior is beautiful! It was nice to fire up the outdoor fireplace on the deck and relax on the comfy outdoor furniture. We are looking forward to a return trip next year!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely lake house! It was the perfect spot for our family to reconnect and relax. Great place to stay. Loved being able to walk on the beach and see Lake Superior’s waves crashing in while sitting at the kitchen table. Our host was very attentive to us and gave us instructions ahead of the check-in date. The rental was spotless. This was a beautiful property surrounded by woods. The beach was lovely to walk and we enjoyed finding sea glass. We also enjoyed using the kayaks that were available. We did think the price was a little high compared to other beautiful lakeside homes that we've stayed at in the past. As mentioned in a different review, the 1500 deposit is a little steep and it is not refunded for 2 weeks after you've checked out. But it is still a great place to stay and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Beautiful Place To Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the UP Happy Place! What a beautiful home, complete with everything you would need, even a Keurig! Comfortable beds, internet and smart TV access, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, on and on I could go! Chad and Christel are excellent hosts and always ready to answer questions. Being right on Lake Superior was the icing on the cake. Easy check in and check out, it was just a beautiful stay from start to finish and we are looking forward to another vacation here when the fall colors are on.

Perfect location for enjoying the UP whether you want to hike the Porkies, visit nearby waterfalls, explore Ontonagon and surrounding communities, or simply relax at the home. We especially enjoyed the back deck overlooking the path to the beach. The host had anticipated all our needs and quickly responded to questions. The tiled walk-in showers and high quality appliances gave the home a luxurious feel. We would enjoy staying here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Beautiful Home & Property - Amazing Stay!

This property was incredible! We had such a great stay and enjoyed our week immensely. The black flies and mosquitos were terrible, but we didn't let them ruin our time. The beach is beautiful - we were able to enjoy sunset from kayaks on the lake! The location of this property is perfect to enjoy everything in both the Porcupine Mountains and the Keweenaw Peninsula. The home itself is clean and well kept - the kitchen was well stocked and the bedroom layout was great for our multi-generational family.

We are often referred to as the Manson 3, or the three best friends. Chad and Christel have been married for 24 years, and have an amazing son, Connor, who started college in 2025. We have two amazing Schnauzer puppies, and love all the things about the UP.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to this area for 20 years, and had been looking for the exact right spot for a year or so. When Christel walked into the home she knew this was her happy place. Everything about it screamed us, and we couldn't be happier about the decision!

What makes this property unique

This home is remote, yet right off a main road. It has a beautiful beach on Superior. It provides solitude and many activities. It really is a piece of heaven.
