Beach-side, beautiful low-rise with uncrowded beach!

This 2 bedroom 2 bath unit B1403 sleeps 8 and is located on the 4th floor of the B building. It is one unit in from the end unit and B1403 features a breathtaking gulf view and courtyard view!! Grab a hot cup of coffee or an ice cold beverage and enjoy the sunrise over the gulf on your own private balcony. This unit has a king bed in the master and a queen and full bed in the guest bedroom, each with new plush mattresses with gel memory foam. Living room has 2 recliner chairs and a sofa that pulls out to a queen sleeper, with an upgraded mattress. This unit sleeps 8. Ceiling fans and tile floors throughout the unit. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and pots/pans for your use. Non smoking, washer and dryer, elevator, ice dispenser in refrigerator door.

All units are individually owned and controlled however, for guests with disabilities this unit specific accessibility features include:

• Combination shower/tub with adjustable shower head and hand bar
• Toilets with hand bar

• Smoke detector with sound and light features

Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
• Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
• Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
• S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

They did have a large table and chairs on the porch. The toilet in the master bath was clogged, we tried plunging, no results, so called the office, maintenance came to check, said they needed different equipment. Came back next day and a rotor, and it was fixed by the second day. It is a very nice condo, nice pool, and I recommend the Excel beach service, for chairs and umbrella’s set up every morning. We enjoyed our stay, and will return for another vacation.

Bittersweet Memories

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I grew-up staying at Silver Dunes, so my family was excited to revisit a place from the past. The unit in the 'new end' was reasonably well decorated, however, it is absolutely tiny. Between the couch and dining table, there is barely an aisle to make your way into the very small kitchen. The bedrooms are even smaller as the beds barely fit the room lengthwise. The 'master bathroom' is microscopic and opens to the hallway. With the two doors in there, neither will open without the other completely closed. To say the least, I must have been much smaller 30 years ago, because I did not remember the space constraints.The worst parts were two-fold: 1. The beach is very redneck and poorly run. Numerous loud speakers and heavy smokers and drinkers. If this is your thing - cool - but our thing is a bit more 'kid friendly'. We were even yelled at by some ***** after politely asking them to turn down their excessively profane music. Don't waste your time ordering beach snacks - they were out of everything and never actually delivered to us once at our umbrella. Needless to say the days of George Noble are gone. He would never have put up with that mess. 2. The WiFi is non-existent. After around 6 calls to management, they finally told me that their 'wireless system' was just overloaded and very slow, so it was working 'as expected'. We stayed there for 10 days and I had to build-in time to go down to Breakers East where some family was staying just to get work done. My kids were practically device-less all week (which wasn't in the planner). Some folks like to get off the grid, but that was not our objective. Its a shame that a reasonably nice place cannot provide such a critical and vital service. In short, our trip was right around $5200 ($4100 for the week + 3 extra days) for accommodations about 1/3 as big/nice as the Breakers East condo that my sister paid under $4k. My advice - plan better than we did and

Clean and beautiful condo with all the amenities- comfy beds- thank you for allowing us to stay there.Highly recommend- just leave the code for streaming abilities. We brought our own GEMINI bit that was locked down for us to enjoy.

All appliances in good working order and appeared new. Only negative was washing machine had two towels left in it from previous renters. We discovered the floor was not as clean as it appeared after our one year old grandson clothing became very dirty after he crawled through the living area. We all had a relaxing and very enjoyable week!

Our condo B 1403 was abaolutely beautifully decorated, extremely clean, and with spectacular views of the ocean. The condo looks even better in person than the pictures on the website !! The kitchen is stocked with all you need and what a beautiful ocean view from the kitchen sink. We also loved the easy stair access which put us steps from then beach and elevatoraccess not far from our condo. Lots of carts to help bring all your luggage and stuff up to the condo. We will definitely be back and choose to stay at Silver Dunes again and for sure unit B 1403!!

The condo was very nice with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable (with the exception of a frying pan but we made due). The only negative is the bathroom in the master is small with both doors opening inward. Also, there was no shelves or cabinet space to place hair products, makeup, etc. with the exception of the under sink storage. I would stay here again, the location is great, very clean and comfortable for a family!

Silver Dunes a mixed bag

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We originally booked a 3 bedroom unit in the front (old) building near the street. The building and the elevator was in poor shape. The unit itself was very run down, hadn't been fully painted in 20 years (I'd guess) but touch ups were obviously visible on the walls. Furniture was frayed and dirty. Sliders didn't lock. But, Silver Dunes was accommodating when I asked to be moved to Unit B 1403. It was dated (very 80's) but clean and freshly painted with a beautiful view and easy access to the beach. The buildings near the beach were being painted while we were there and the elevators were updated and clean. Unfortunately, there is a vast difference between the old buildings near the street and the newer buildings near the beach.

Love Destin!

My first impression was that our condo was dated, low ceilings, formica, etc. We had a few dirty utensils, etc. The beds were a little creaky, not enough sink area (maybe a shelf below would be helpful). But our overall experience was great. The beach is beautiful as was the water. I really liked that the pool is away from the beach with the large yard between. The kids played kick ball, etc, which was very nice. ***The balcony has a cut-out at the bottom of one call, which I guess acts as a drain. I strongly recommend grates on these drains. My 2 yr old grandson was halfway out before we noticed, dangling from the 3rd floor. We were on the balcony with him, it happened that fast. A smaller child would have fallen out!***PLEASE PUT GRATES OVER THE DRAIN CUT-OUT ON THE BALCONIES.
