About the Property
Our charming log cabin is built in the classic Southern “dogtrot” style, featuring sleeping quarters at each end connected by an open breezeway. Originally constructed on the banks of the Cumberland River in Cloyds Kentucky, The Dogtrot was relocated to the Texas Hill Country in 1997. For 10 consecutive years, it has been awarded “Outstanding Quality” by Historic Accommodations of Texas.

The property is entirely smoke-free, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay.

Beautiful location

We loved our stay at the cabin in Fredericksburg. The location is perfect! Very close to town, but you really get the quiet relaxed feeling here. We enjoyed watching all of the wildlife. The cabin was super clean, decorated very nicely and the bed was super comfy. It was perfect for our little quick getaway! Can’t wait to return.

Even better than the pictures. Very clean, super comfortable. Extremely peaceful with Turkey and deer walking around the property. Only 4 miles from town so excellent access to everything. Owner’s very kind and helpful. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else on a return trip.

The rustic old feel charm, watching the deer in the morning and evening, the bed was comfortable and it was close to town.The owner was amazing and super sweet.The only down side was the water pressure in the shower, we just like the water pressure strong as that’s what we are used too.
