Bandon Historic River House

Listed on the national registry of historic buildings, this vacation home is full of charm and character and offers guests a one of a kind experience. Enjoy gorgeous views of the river and the ocean as you build special memories with friends and family. The Bandon Historic River House has been a special gathering place for many over the years offering a perfect venue for reunions and other special events you might be celebrating.

Located on the Coquille River and in Old Town Bandon, you can easily stroll to the many shops, galleries and restaurants Old Town has to offer. Or you can walk west to the South Jetty and explore miles of amazing beaches. Common wildlife sightings right from the River House include many species of seabirds, eagles, seal lions, seals and even whales, which have been spotted exploring up the river. At the nearby harbor you might enjoy crabbing and fishing. The area has lots of hiking trails and several golf courses, including those at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

The kitchen, dining and living rooms are all located on the main floor to provide easy access for most! A fully stocked kitchen welcomes cooks of all levels. The large dining area flows into the living room providing a great community space. The backyard is a fun place to gather and take in the beautiful sites of the Coquille River.

The yellow room, which has its own exterior entrance, is located on the main floor and has a queen bed and a double futon. The gray room, which boasts amazing views of the river, is also located on the main floor and has a double bed and a futon. These rooms share the main floor bathroom.

The upper level of the river house has three adjoining bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The king room, at the top of the stairs, has an open plan and includes one king bed and one sofa sleeper, an electric fireplace, and a bathroom with a large soaker tub and shower. It has views of the river, the lighthouse and the ocean. The king room is connected to two queen rooms that also have a full bathroom on their end.

The location was walking distance to all the shops in old town. It was wonderful to walk the rocky beach behind the house. It had plenty of games and rock painting, fun activities to pass the time. We were able to fit 7 adults, 2 teens, and a toddler easily. Wonderful place to stay!

Yes, we could see the ocean from the home but the view of the bay was best. We didn't have any pets but the home was so clean that while it was pet friendly, anyone would be comfortable. Best of all walking distance to everything! So unique we'd all stay again in a heartbeat!

Decent layout, clean and good space. Large kitchen, dining, living area was well done. Very convenient to anything in Bandon and 15 minutes from Bandon Dunes. We had 4 golfers and worked out well. One minor maintenance issue arose and the host jumped on it ASAP and was fixed right away. No material effect on our stay. 3BR and 2 baths upstairs and 2BR and 1 bath down. You're at the mouth of the river. Fun to see the lighthouse and watch the tides. While there is an outdoor patio and seating area in the back, it is very windy even with a windscreen. No real beach to use at the house (kind of a rocky industrial feel at the water) but a brief walk around the corner and there is access and our group walked it several days seeing seals and starfish, and many other walkers. Nice gas grill we used a couple of times. No icemaker so buy a bag. Front bedroom is very nice but be aware it is close to street so some street noise and light. Only complaint I heard from our group was that the towels upstairs were a little thin. There were extras in the laundry area though that our guys could have used so not a big deal. The house is very functional and fairly portrayed. May not be perfect for everyone but pretty close for 4 guys on a golf trip. More space and cheaper than staying at the resort in my opinion. The town is fun to walk around. We hit the brew pub, seafood market and a good restaurant. All close by. So 9 out of 10.

Thank you Tom, it was great talking with you, and hosting your group. We are happy you had a great time, it is such an amazing and unique location. It is so great to be so close to Old Town, and all it has to offer, and yet be on the water with an amazing view. The back patio does have a wind screen, and a firepit. It was very windy from the North while you were here, and sometimes that is hard to get away from. But when it is windy at the golf resort there is no escaping it there either. There is a sandy beach along jetty road, which is just a couple hundred feet to the west across the gravel parking area. You can walk that beach all the way to the South Jetty and cross over that parking area, and walk that beach for probably 25 miles South if you wanted. Also that is strange about the towels. There are the same towels all throughout the house, and they are a high quality, and we replace them often. Not sure about that, but I will have housekeeping inventory it. Yes there are extra towels as well. It is such an amazing place, that survived the Bandon Fire of 1936, and we are all thankful it is available as a rental for everyone to experience, and enjoy. Charming place on the river

We all had so much fun at this property! It was like stepping back in time, while enjoying all the comforts of home. The charm of this house enchanted our entire group. Wonderful beds and modern bathrooms. Would definitely love to visit again.

Charming and the best weekend at the coast

We loved the historic building right on the water, with a view of the lighthouse. Located right in Bandon, so all restaurants, cafes and shops were minutes away. Well equipped kitchen, and the beds and bedding was the most comfortable I've seen in a rental. So much room for all of our family, we had a delightful weekend.

Great location & Large Home

This home is right next door to the Edgewater restaurant in Bandon. You can walk to everything in town which was great for us. After a long day playing golf at Bandon Dunes, it was great to be able walk to a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and hiking trails.

Fantastic location and house

Group of 5 golfers stayed here for a week. Had everything a group would want. Great location for walking downtown and eating and drinking. Clean, large home gave us plenty of room. We would book again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place.

Love Bandon.

My son and his friend and my brother and myself stayed there. It was so enjoyable. My brother is a photographer and got some great photos of the sunsets over the lighthouse. Beds were very comfortable and I loved the kitchen. Hope to come back again. I would give it a 5 star rating.

Great location for a Bandon golf trip

This place comfortably slept 8 guys. It’s located right next to a great restaurant (10 steps to the right) and right on the water. House was clean and beds were comfy. It is a historical building and the lights were hard to identify switches or turn on, but we were only there to sleep and recharge.
