078 Lazy Bass--Brand new on our rental program, newly remodeled, painted, new furnishings! This home is located on Dauphin Island's coveted West end, situated on a lot that is not crowded with houses close by. From the back deck, a stunning Northeast view of the bay bridge, and from the broad front deck, incredible views of the gulf's lapping waves. You will simply sigh when you walk into the home with its serene color palate and perfect finishing touches. Kitchen offers new remodel including stainless steel appliances. Hard floor throughout--no carpet. Beautiful rattan dining for 6 with extra seating available, and cozy living area featuring midcentury modern furniture and hand-picked accent pieces. Master suite has king bed, and the East side of the house has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed and connected by a walk through full bath.

Things to know about our Dauphin Island Rentals:
All linens are provided
Propane grill provided (renter responsible for propane)
You must be at least 25 years old to rent

Additional Charges: Cleaning fee, 11% lodging tax, non-refundable reservation fee and damage waiver, optional travel insurance.

Saturday to Saturday reservations preferred during peak summer season. Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo weekly rentals ONLY.

This is one of the best houses we’ve ever stayed. We stayed in a house we loved last year that was booked just before I booked this one. The design is set up perfectly for 3 private bedrooms with living and kitchen between. The house was very clean. Steps from both the Gulf and the Bay for photography, walking, or water fun. I honestly don’t want to say anymore because this is the best kept vacation location—I love it.

Great vacation in this clean home, very cute decor. We had a nice relaxing time and would definitely stay again. Only hiccups -were the ice maker was slow on producing ice and beach access was farther away then mentioned and having to cross busy street to walk to public entrance (picture shows how close beach is). Not necessarily a huge deal, we made it work.

This property had a very nice interior , with a large amount of cookware, complete with a traditional coffee maker. The exterior porches were a bit scary, as they had many loose board with rough places and nails sticking up. We definitely needed shoes to walk out there. I also did not feel the listing adequately explained the limited beach access and that you had to cross a fairly busy street and walk down to the access point. The bay side had no access, as it was restricted to bay front homes. I definitely would look for an ocean or gulf front property with a pool if I visit again.

The cleanest property we've ever stayed at. The layout was comfortable and the common areas invited easy socializing. The patio was shaded and cool with the sea breeze, we ate all our meals on the patio. The beds were big and comfy. Very clean! No houses nearby, so there is a sense of peaceful isolation away from neighbors' chatter and grillsmoke. The beach is a short walk. The checkin/checkout processes were painless. We plan to stay at Dauphin again and hopefully at this same property.

Awesome Stay at the Lazy Bass

Property was as described. Great location and proximity to the beach. Very clean and all of the stuff you would expect from a prime VRBO property. Please note this property is managed by a property company that is on the island and they are great. Lots of communication. However, I would add that the property description indicates there is a propane grill on-site. There is not. It’s charcoal only, so come prepared if you plan on grilling. That said, we can’t wait to come back!

Great Property

This house is situated well with the view and sound of the Gulf surf and a view of the bay from porches on either side. The house was very clean and well equipped, except that we had expected to have access to some portable beach chairs. We forgot to bring salt and pepper and paper towels, which weren't provided. But we made do with cloth napkins of dish cloths and found a place to buy some salt and pepper. Our stay was only 3 nights and it was too windy to enjoy much of the beach, but we were able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the beach from the house. I especially enjoy the remote feeling of the west end of the island.

Overall the property is nice and clean. The beds are pretty terrible and not comfortable at all. We had a huge problem with black ants under the house. They were everywhere, in the garbage, on the front porch and all under the house. They got in two of our vehicles when we were parked in the driveway. They were all in our truck and bed of the truck. I understand having insects but what mad me mad was I messaged the rental company and they said they would send out pest control, that was Wednesday, no one ever showed up or followed up with us. I then messaged Thursday and was ignored. I really hope they fix this before the next family comes in.

Quiet location close to the beach

My husband and I needed a quiet vacation, just the two of us, before our third child arrived. Other than having to waddle up and down stairs at eight months pregnant (which can't be helped), this place was perfect. It was a great, quiet location right across the street from the beach so it was a short walk. And those stairs weren't too bad...

AMAZING!

This home was exactly as pictured. There is a very quiet, pristine, soft sand beach directly across the street from the house. The island was not congested, at all, despite it being spring break. There were plenty of activities to do for all of us to be well entertained and relaxed. There was some pretty crazy weather one night of our stay, and the staff of the rental company (ACP) did a great job of keeping us updated and giving us safety measures to take, while keeping everyone calm and reassured. The staff of ACP was so kind and helpful in answering all of our questions. We had never heard of Dauphin Island before, but we're so glad we discovered it... can't wait to go back!

My new happy place

Such a beautiful home!! Just as was pictured. The added touch was the Christmas tree! My Daughter and I could not be home for Christmas, the first time I have not been home on Christmas. So, thank you !! Also so very nice to have every piece of bake ware and dish wear that one could ever need. And non stick pans as well!! If we are ever back to Alabama we will surly seek out the Lazy Bass!!
