About the host

Hosted by Melissa Siegel

Host profile image
My name is Melissa and I have the pleasure of being a mom to three teenage girls. We live in New York an hour and half north of New York City known as the Hudson valley. Here we have beautiful mountain and valley views along the Hudson River.

I am currently a teacher and health and wellness life coach. I have the opportunity to serve in an inner city school district where I have the privilege of teaching wellness, sports and fitness and health education to high school students.

My three daughters are very active in sports (volleyball, soccer, dance) and also play the cello, viola and piano. We also are a foster family for dogs until they find their forever home. I spend much of my non-work time taking them to and from events and practices. It’s a complete whirlwind of organized chaos.

We love the outdoors and spending time hiking, taking care of our chickens and our dog, Charlie (who is a rescue) In the last several years I have gained hobbies in gardening, herbal remedies, essential oils, all natural homemade things like making toothpaste (girls still don’t like it), and reading; especially in the realm of wellness. These all provide me with great peace, knowledge and understanding which also helps me to be better at my vocation. I have always had a love for baking and cooking so adopting these newer hobbies seamlessly infused into my life and the girls.

We named it The SeaMore because of its panoramic views of the inter-coastal water, along with country roads that we love biking and walking on. We absolutely come here to see more. We love watching the dolphins and catching crabs. We watch the fishermen crabbing and the occasional barge go by. The view never gets old. We walk from our yard onto our dock where we jump in and swim. We have truly found our happy place and look forward to sharing our “happy” with you.

Why they chose this property

I bought this home the end of 2020 and have been doing updates throughout. 2021 brought new floors, appliances and lighting. Now that 2023 is upon us new granite countertops are being installed along with a new water softener system. I am very excited about continually updating this home. I think it's important to provide my guests with an updated, modern home so that it truly is a home away from home for you.

Breathtaking sunrises, stunning waterfront views from your private deck or pier. Wildlife: blue heron, dolphins, pelicans, eagles, ospree, and deer, just to name a few of the sights you are apt to see. Well known for it's fishing the pier is a great place to cast your line for some red and black drum, flounder, speckled trout, croaker, Spanish mackerel as well as an abundance of blue crabs. A wonderful place to find your inner peace whether is it fishing, hunting, birdwatching, bike riding, quiet walks or just relaxing on the sun deck, The SeaMore has something for everyone.

What makes this property unique

This house has its own private dock with boat ramp and powered boat lift.
