The location in cozy Lemont was perfect for a visit with my Son at PSU. With a coffee shop, brewery and restaurant w/in walking distance but only 5 minutes from campus driving, it was a great choice. Beds super comfy, large kitchen, lots of character in the home - we'll be back!
Proximity was great, close enough to campus to enjoy all of the activities at PSU, but in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with great views (winter) of Mt Nittany. Cheryl was a tremendous host, extremely responsive, and house was well appointed and comfortable...will visit again!
Great house in an excellent location. Close to everything. Tons of space for the 6 of us. Very quiet location! The Dad side of me liked the number of smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers in the house. Also like the emergency contact numbers posted on the fridge.
We were in town visiting Penn State and the home was in a great, quiet location. The owner has the home well stocked with food and amenities and the home is well cared for and clean. Would recommend. Thanks for your hospitality!
We enjoyed our stay in Happy Valley! This is a charming home that has been updated and is located in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were also very comfortable!
We have stayed here several times over the last 3 years to visit my daughter and move her into PSU. The house is so clean and Cheryl is very responsive in her communication. Look forward to staying again.
Very nice and comfortable setup for several people. With 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, there's lots of flexibility...The kitchen is nice and there is also a rec room downstairs and a fire pit outside. Check-in was super-easy, and Uber rides to the campus was quick and convenient.
There is nothing bad I can say about this property and the host. We had a family event to attend in state College and traveled with two little ones. The house accommodated us all in style and was perfectly located for our needs.
Three couples stayed for the White Out weekend for PennState Football and a country concert on Friday night. It was very close to everything you need in state college. The house was very nice and clean and very spacious. The host was great and if we need anything responded quickly.
We stayed in this property while my daughter had a soccer tournament nearby. It was 15min from the field, 15min from downtown and 15min from UNCG where she will be attending next year. Perfect amount of space to stretch out in the common area. Small patio with firepit where we enjoyed the sun. We will def be staying here again. Thank you!
Had a wonderful stay here, I absolutely loved the house and property. The house is beautifully updated but also has nice history and character to it. Comfortable, clean and plenty of space for our family, my daughter loved the big backyard to run around in, and the front porch was great to sit and enjoy a coffee. Honestly didn't want to leave and hope to use this as 'our place' when we visit State College. The property owner was lovely to deal with.
My husband and I stayed at the guesthouse while we moved our daughter into her apartment before the beginning of her sophomore year. The house was quite spacious and comfortable. Very clean, room to sit and relax, both inside and out. We took advantage of the fire pit and enjoyed the cooler weather around the blaze. Beautiful neighborhood, huge backyard, plenty of space to relax after the work of moving. Highly recommend!
Clean and had everything needed for our two night stay. Property and gardens were lovely. Host was wonderful and accommodating. The only issue is for someone who is mold sensitive, it was pretty humid during our stay, the home is an older home with everything upgraded including A/C, but still was a bit musty. We would totally stay here again!
As an PSU grad with our daughter now in her second year, this spot was not only the best location for move in week but was a joy to stay at. Highly recommend this house for any event in State College you may have. Thanks, Cheryl, for a wonderful experience. The house had plenty of space and was very cozy.
What can I say but just the perfect stay at this wonderful home so close to campus. I was dropping my daughter off to summer classes at Penn State and she was nervous about being too far from home so I decided to stay in the home for the week while she got settled. Cheryl couldn't have made the stay more pleasant. My sisters ended up joining me but the yard and front porch were wonderful for our morning coffee and afternoon glass of wine and the home was perfectly appointed with everything you would need for your stay. The beds were super comfortable and really there is nothing I can say besides, thank your the amazing stay! we will be back for sure!
This home and its and owners are both amazing. My family and I took our first trip in 15 months and we could not have asked for a better spot to make memories. The home is beautiful and full of character. Every room has a view of the beautiful yard and tree-lined street. The sun room in the back was our favorite-it has wrap around windows that overlook the backyard and Mt. Nittany. When we ate our breakfast in the morning with the kids we could see Mt. Nittany through the trees. The entire house has been re-done and has every amenity you could need but also still has the charm of the original home. The house is only a few minutes from Penn State's campus and is convenient to everything in the State College area. The real treat in staying in this home was getting to meet the owners. They are kind, friendly, helpful, and all around fantastic people that we are now lucky to be able to call our friends.
Stayed for PSU, Maryland game over Thanksgiving weekend. Charming, immaculate home with every amenity! Hosts were very gracious and accommodating ! We will be back!

About the host

Hi! My name is Cheryl and I am a mom of four boys and love all things outdoors. I have lived in State College for the past 25 years. I love people and especially to host people and when the opportunity came up to purchase and renovate the property next door to us, my family jumped on it. It was our Covid project and kept us busy for the first 6 months of it. I wanted to make it a space for families and friends to be comfortable so they can have quality time together. So, we opened it up as a short term rental and have loved it! Because of my love for people and homes in this area, I am also a realtor through a local brokerage, so if you need any help, just let me know!
Why they chose this property
The beauty of this property is the gentleman that lived there for his whole life and the stories that came out of it as we neighbored together. The house is quaint and cute with backyard that is perfect for feeling like your just literally sitting at the base of Mt. Nittany. Our house is literally right next door, so we have had the opportunity to meet such incredible people from around the world through this!
What makes this property unique
This place is so close the campus, but yet your surroundings are surreal with birds, flowers, lots of trees and Mt. Nittany in the background!
