Big Blue beach house with a hot tub!

The ultimate friend/family vacation house! Fully updated & stocked with new kitchenware, appliances, beach toys/towels, & smart TVs; this rental has everything you need! Less than 2 miles from the beach & casino, & a short drive from tree-lined hiking trails in the nation's newest national park. Enjoy wineries, boat rentals, cafes, Michigan City Zoo, splash pad & park, outlet malls, & antique shops. The perfect getaway for up to 12 people!

To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL the information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you!

This home has been completely renovated for the comfort of our guests! Five bedrooms sleep twelve people. (Upstairs: one king bedroom and two queen bedrooms. Downstairs: one queen bedroom and one trundle bed (sleeps two). The queen sofa bed sleeps two. For an additional charge, an additional guest can join if they would like to use the futon. **Please note, however, that the seating room/plates/serving wear/towels are equipped for 10.

Big Blue is located in a residential neighborhood about one mile from the beach. It is a split-level home at just under 2000 square feet. (All bedrooms require guests to be able to use the stairs.) There is also a large deck, hot tub, and fire pit area to enjoy in the backyard. Beyond the backyard is a commercial industrial area, and the house has neighbors close by on each side. While the photos seen here were taken prior to the installation of window coverings, rest assured that Big Blue does have blinds.

New appliances, dishes, towels, and beach gear are all available for use. The backyard has plenty of room for a game of frisbee or relaxing on the deck.

HOUSE PERKS:
--This rental includes a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, sink, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, hand mixer, & coffee maker. Essentials like plates, cups, glass cookware, pots/pans, utensils, & paper towels will be provided for your use.
--Along with coffee, creamer and sweetener are provided.
--Cooking oil, salt/pepper are provided. Brands provided depend on what's in stock at local stores, so if you have specific brand/flavor preferences for these items, please feel free to bring your own. :)
--A hairdryer and showering essentials are provided. Bath towels/rags are available for each guest. Each bedroom has a designated closet with hanger storage and a set of plastic drawers for clothing. There is also an iron and ironing board in the laundry room.
--Small beach toys for kids and a large Turkish beach towel is provided for each guest.
--A few board games/books are available for your use.
--Guests can park in the one-lane driveway--There is enough room for 3 vehicles to park behind each other. Free public street parking is also available/always open in front of the house.

TECHNOLOGY:
--Two flat-screen smart televisions are hooked up in two living areas, though we recommend the outdoors over the tube! ;)
--Wifi is provided -- at least 100Mbps
--A Smart Home Device is also in the house with instructions on how to use it. The device can play music/white noise, find local attractions, check the weather, etc. Guests who do not want to utilize the device can simply turn it off.
--A washer/dryer is available for your use in the basement.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from:
--Users who already have positive reviews.
--Users who have provided verified government ID.
--Renters that are above the age of 25.
We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. In order to keep the home in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

***As hosts, we have sustained damages to our properties in the past. Because we value our relationships with our neighbors and because we aim to keep the properties in top condition, we do require guests to have previous positive reviews from past trips. If you do not have previous positive reviews from past trips, we do require a fully refundable $500 damage deposit. The deposit is returned on your day check out when the cleaning team arrives and confirms the property is in good condition.***

***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the house is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) We also do not have a pack-and-play/portable crib, so guests will need to bring their own.***

***Our pet-friendly property has a $75 fee per pet. We allow one small to medium-sized, potty-trained dog (no puppies).
Dog Rules:

-Dogs must be crated if left unattended and are not allowed on furniture. Service animals must stay with you at all times.
-Dogs must be leashed when outside.
-Please clean up after your pet indoors and outdoors.***

CHECK-IN INFO:
--Guests who book will receive detailed check-in instructions and a key code for entry on the morning of their scheduled arrival. All of this will be communicated through VRBO messenger.
--Please note that Michigan City is on Central Standard Time (CST). Check-in is between 4 and 9 p.m.; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive.
--Our cancellation policy is moderate.
