Newly remodeled second row home with beautiful views and steps to the beach!

Smile and Wave. Our second row beach home has been newly remodeled and we can't wait to share this family friendly home with you! We are located on the east side of Ocean Isle Beach about 1 mile from the center of town. Our home is steps away from the beach access so its very easy to run back and forth to the home for anything you may have forgotten!

Our reverse floor plan optimizes ocean views in the space that you will be spending most of your time. The open family room, dining room, and kitchen offer breathtaking views of the ocean. With 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, Smile and Wave sleeps up to 14 people so we have plenty of room for you, your family, and your friends. There are 2 master bedrooms (one on the top floor and one on the first floor) each offering King beds and their own bath. The 3 remaining bedrooms are all on first floor along with two additional bathrooms. Each level boasts a large deck spanning the width of the home for relaxing or dining . All bedrooms have TVs with Roku devices so you can sign in to any streaming service that you like. There is a large, private outdoor shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach!

For families with small children, our home is stocked with a baby gate, pack and play, booster seat, high chair, umbrella stroller, and a variety of beach toys.

We added an EV charger in 2022 that is available to our guests for an additional fee.

I would give more stars if I could. Luke was super in communication. The property was very clean. The kitchen was equipped with every appliance we could ever need, extra dishes and flatware, linens, a welcome basket, seating to accommodate everyone. We enjoyed two wonderful porches with plenty of seats, easy quick beach access. We had a wonderful family vacation. Would definitely recommend this property.

The best rental I've ever stayed in! Starting w the location. Only a few minutes walk from the house to the beach. Located 3 houses down from the beach access made it quick and easy to get to the beach even w a toddler in tow. This house was SO CLEAN upon arrival and had plenty of cleaning supplies available to tidy up inevitable messes. Speaking of supplies, the owners provided a very well stocked house with everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of seating both inside and outside for our entire group! Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. All the bedrooms had LOTS of hooks to hang towels, hats and clothes on. The starter pack of soap, detergent, bags, etc was above and beyond what is normally provided. There were plenty of games, puzzles, books, beach toys and chairs. Even a cooler to borrow if we needed! Baby items were available and were clean and in great condition! The host, Luke, was great to work with. He was super fast to respond to any questions. He made great recommendations. We hope to be able to stay at Luke's place again soon!

What a Gem

Loved our stay here. We’ve been renting for several summers at OIB and the owner is by far the most responsive and helpful. House layout is great - appreciate that the upstairs master is not right off the kitchen as in other homes. Will be back!

Great Place at Ocean Isle Beach

Annual Family Beach Trip

Such a delightful place to stay and spend time with our family. You could not have better location from the house. The only downside was the beach because we were unaware that you can only have umbrella instead, no tent allowed. Your place was very accommodating for our large family. Couldn’t ask for a nicer home to stay.

Wonderful home and location

Our family had a great time on OIB staying in this well stocked home. The owners were wonderful hosts, checking to see if there was anything we needed midweek. We were steps from the beach access which was perfect for our group who could easily come and go. Well stocked, fresh and clean. Reccommend!

Tough to beat...

Seriously, there isn't anything bad to share about our stay! The house was wonderful and immaculate, it was sooooooooooo close to beach access, and it was just a very comfortable place for us to stay. Communication with the owner was fantastic from prior to arriving through after our departure. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Family fun at Smile & Wave!

The Johnsons are exceptional hosts, providing a beautiful home, with accommodations to make your vacation restful & relaxing! Very kid friendly, with plenty of room to have a big family dinner in, around the dinning table, or a fun night full of games after your full day at the beach! Can’t beat rocking on their front porch with the beautiful ocean view! We’d love to return in the future!

Worth it!

We had such a great time staying here. It was a beautiful and spacious home right across from access to the beach. The 5 bedrooms and numerous bathroom made such a huge difference when everyone was getting ready or just needed some space. The host was very communicative and helpful. I would highly recommend and absolutely stay again!

This property was exceptional. Lots of room for our family vacation. Updated and well stocked kitchen. Close to beach access. Backyard grass for little ones to get out and play. Love that towels and sheets were included. Lots of extras like beach chairs and sand toys were available. Large parking area. I would recommend to anyone!!!!

Perfect beach week!

This is a beautiful home and was very clean! It was well stocked with everything you need. The owners responded immediately with any questions we had. They also had a book in the home with instructions for everything. We have already rented this home for next year.

Great location!

Plenty of room for our group of 11. The upper deck had great views of the ocean - close enough to hear the waves crashing while not being directly on the oceanfront. Beds were extremely comfortable although the twin mattress on the top bunk was rated poorly by my 22 year old niece…😬 Well stocked kitchen, great water pressure in the showers, and plenty of beach chairs for us to use at the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Great house and location to beach

The house was perfect for our family of 9 people (7 adults/2 kids). House was exceptionally clean and the location to the beach was great. Beds and pillows were very comfortable which is not always the case with beach rentals. It is apparent the owners take great pride in maintaining their property and in providing a hassle free experience to their guests. Luke was very responsive and helpful. Our best beach rental experience in many years. Highly recommend Smile and Wave.

Great house for three generations!

We loved this house for its proximity to the beach, spacious living area, and big porches. We ate most of our meals on the upper porch and enjoyed the rocking chairs and couch for relaxing outdoors. The lower porch was a nice getaway with a hammock. The dining room table was big enough to accommodate our group of ten for meals and games and the well designed and comfortable living area had more seating than most beach houses. The owner was available and responsive to our questions. It was a great beach house for our family.
