Wow! This property had everything for our family. The space was so clean and well laid out. Each family group of our extended family had their own space to use and we also had a very large shared space to spend time together. The area was quiet and had amazing access to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Some of us went to the Belly Up one night for a concert and absolutely loved it! Great venue!! There was a heat wave during our stay and the house stayed very cool even without AC. We just opened the windows and let in the fresh air. The oven was a bit tricky, but we were able to figure it out in the end and it made some delicious meals! If you have the chance to stay here, you should! You will not regret one second!!
We just left the house after a six day family reunion with people coming in from various parts of the country. We had three generations and everyone LOVED the house. We were nervous about certain things from looking at it online but everyone agreed it was a great house. We were all comfortable.
Many reviews mention being uncomfortable with the AGA stove. Once we understood how to use it, we really enjoyed cooking in it and on it. The food we made was delicious. Food cooked more quickly and was more juicy - nothing ever got overdone, tough or dried-out. The kitchen is a dream kitchen, with so many special things as well as all the ordinary things a person could want.
In addition to having enough bedrooms and bathrooms, it was wonderful for our group to have an office space downstairs and a library upstairs. This home has such wonderful books! We enjoyed the bathrooms that had added-on "tushy" bidets on the toilets.
The location is fabulous. The owners are very generous and we were greeted with lovely flowers on the table, lots of snacks and some drinks in a little drink refrigerator. We were thrilled to be able to walk to the beach as well as to explore nature and the challenges of Annie's Canyon.Short drive to fabulousSeaside Market.
Molly, who manages the property is amazing and wonderful to work with. We didn't need much from her, but whenever we contacted her with a question or problem, she immediately attended to it. This is a place we'd be happy to stay at again.
This home is really so nice. The property manager was absolutely fantastic and very responsive. She made her self available to text messages almost instantly and was extremely helpful. I was very grateful for her and the home owners flexibility. We met our extended family in Solana Beach for a family vacation. This was an awesome home for that. Room for us all to spread out and have our individual spaces as well as awesome shared spaces. We hung out in the backyard on the patio and it was so lovely. Everything was clean and well stocked. They provided laundry detergent and all the essentials. There was also a very nice welcome basket full of snacks that the kids and grown ups both enjoyed. A big thank you to the home owners and Molly!!
There are a couple of things I think I want to pass on to other renters, especially those with small children. I know the other reviews talk about the AGA stove, but there are a few things that I wish I had understood before renting. The oven and stove are on continuously and you do not shut them off. This means that you walk by the oven and stove and feel the heat radiating off the oven and stove and they are pretty warm to the touch. We have a 3 year-old with Autism and I was very nervous about this, especially because there was no way to childproof it. However, we did reach out to the homeowners and they said we could turn it off, but it would take an almost an entire day to reheat to working temperatures. There was another regular gas stove and oven in the guest house so we did actually consider doing this. We were able to place the large stools they had in the kitchen around the stove and it created enough of a diversion that it never became an issue with our 3-year-old.
Speaking of our 3 year old, I think families with young kids should know there is not a pool fence around the pool or hot tub and there are multiple doors and exit points to get to the backyard. We made it work, but it was work for sure and some anxiety to say the least.
That being said, I am not sure I would have picked a different home if given the chance. It was almost exactly what we needed and the beach was an easy walk.. We had so much fun and had everything we needed. A beautiful home and fully stocked and clean with lots of space. Perfect? No. Awesome? Yes!!

Thank you so much for the thorough review. Yes, having a 3 year old with Autism definitely makes things more challenging! I just want to note, that the stove will not burn anyone. If a kid bumps into it, no matter the age, they will be safe as long as they have the instinct to stop touching it after 20 seconds or so :)
Wonderful place with a great pool for all. It was great to have three separate living areas to split the family up. Location was within easy walking distance of the beach--local shops-- and restaurants. It worked out perfectly for our family get together.
In our 35+ years of renting large multi-generation vacation homes( and owning one ourselves) we can say this was the Best to date. The home offered so many spaces for so many age groups to spread but the outdoor space was the winner. Beautifully landscaped without feeling like a “Club Med”. Coming from several hot and humid environments this SoCal location was a delight. Sleeping with windows open in July a real treat. Sheets and towels were generous and luxurious. The property manager walked us through the house and was very responsive to our few requests during the week.
The owners have made their home feel like OUR home.
It was an absolutely delightful stay. We always like yo try a new spot each year but
we have reversed course and will hopefully return next summer.
This property truly deserves 5 Stars.
Absolutely lovely home and perfect for a large family
We had a great time at this home. We had 10 people total and the property is perfect size so we did not feel cramped at all. We look forward to staying here in the future

Perfect for our family reunion
When we walked in the door, it was even more beautiful than we expected. Decorated with style and comfort in mind, it was perfect for our large family reunion. It had a very nice pool and backyard, and was close to the beach and restaurants in the area. Most of the time, the weather is fabulous in this area, but a hot humid week made for a muggy stay without A/C. Overall, an excellent property with plenty of toys and things to do.

Has potential
Even though the setup of this house is great there are a lot of reason why it doesn’t function well. First of all the oven is an AGA oven (from England). It is very strange and has no knobs and it is always on. It keeps the house very warm and I must warn you that there is no A/C. To add to the problem there are no screens on the windows. Since the house is located near the lagoon there are TONS of mosquitos. So you either boil in the house or open the windows and get eaten alive by mosquitos. The next disappointing thing about our stay was that the waterfall, hot tub and pool light weren’t working during our stay. Those were features we were looking forward to and the property manager didn’t think mattered when she gave us the tour at the beginning of our stay. We got upset and she did put into motion repair work that we had to deal with during our whole week stay. It was finally fixed the last day of our stay! Please note that not all the TVs in the House work and the ones that do do not have normal cable. They have an internet cable called Sling. So if you want to watch sports or news you will have no luck. The washing machine never fully drains the water from your wash so I would not recommend using it. Lastly I have to say with all the problems the property manager gave us a very defensive attitude when we were in contact with her. The place has potential but needs some work and it’s located in a great neighborhood with kind neighbors.

This guest did her best to ruin her own vacation. It was quite sad to see. The rest of her family seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was over there pretty much every day of their stay, so I was able witness the dynamics first hand.
Yes, the oven is an AGA stove from England. It can be frustrating to use, but there is also a second regular gas stove that you can use and most people do lots of BBQing on the two grills. If you do not wish to use the stove, it can be turned off during your stay. (It takes a full day to restart)
The mosquitoes were bad luck. There generally are no mosquitoes and you can open the windows and the house stays very cool at all times of the year. I do agree with Gina that getting screens on the windows will be useful. And the owner is planning on installing screens. This is a house where the owner lives 90% of the year and she just never saw the need for screens herself.
Regarding the pool. The actual pool was perfectly fine to use. There was an electricity issue where the use of the amenities like the waterfall and spa were causing the transformer to blow. I had been working on the issue for 4 days before she arrived and we finally came to the conclusion that we would do a manual override for the filter so the pool would stay clean and usable, but the spa and waterfall were unfortunately not able to be used. I explained that I was very sorry and I gave her a refund that I thought was fair. According to our terms and conditions no refund for this sort of issue was due.
Gina wasn't happy with the situation, so I continued to have different electricians come over, but the issue was too big to be fixed during her stay. There was no safety issue luckily, that would have been a totally different situation.
There are 5 TVs in the house. One of those did not work because the owner accidentally packed away the remote when prepping for the summer guests. There is an extensive selection of TV programs on the SlingTV app, an Xbox that her boys used daily, and lots of different movie programs. You can also log into your account to watch specialty items that you might want. Plus, who comes on a vacation to watch TV?
The electricity issue is being fixed as I type and the pool will be functioning fully for the next guests. Screens will be added to the windows and the lost remote has been located.

Beautiful Property...Steps from the Beach
I was simply blown away by this property. Although it has three distinctly different rentals on it they are completely and mutually exclusive. It is perfect for a family reunion or a family vacation where a certain degree of separation or privacy is desired. The pool is family friendly and easily accessible. I highly recommend this property. Oh, and Molly made the experience problem free. She took care of everything.

Perfect for our Family Reunion!
This place was amazing! We came over from different locations in the state for a family reunion. I really think we hit the jackpot! This place is perfect for large family gatherings. The rooms were very accommodating, the patio was great, gave me some good ideas on my next house project, and the kids were able to run around all over the yard playing various games! We loved the spa and sauna! Next time we will have to come visit in the summer so we can take advantage of the amazing pool! The house was very private and quiet, with ample private parking, beautiful kitchen with high end cookware and appliances. Location was great! Easy walk to Cedros shopping area and a short drive (could've walked) to the beach! We are really exited about going back to this place in the foreseeable future! Thank you Molly for a wonderful experience!!!

Look no further! You have found your dream home.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this lovely property. We rented it to celebrate a family reunion and filled it with 8 adults and 4 kids. This property was the perfect retreat for us. Each bedroom was well furnished and there were plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The home and guest house were so clean, the linens and beds are top notch and very comfortable. We loved the kitchen island and the vintage stove. It was a bit tricky to work but we eventually learned how to use it.
The jacuzzi and outdoor seating areas were our favorite areas to gather. The appliances, dishes, utensils and silverware were of great quality and we enjoyed them. And the dishwasher and washer/dryer were the icing on a beautiful cake! There are so many great things I could say about this property but then my review would be way too long. This was certainly an unforgettable experience thanks to this wonderful home. It exceeded our expectations beyond measure.
