About this property

Spectacular Oceanfront Estate with Beautiful Sunsets on 8 acres

The “Big House” is part of an incredible 8-acre private estate with a shared private beach, walking trails, cliff views, a shared deep water dock, and even a freshwater swimming pond. The Big House is a 3,000 sqft fully winterized year-round home built in 1947 by my grandfather. The house features a large living room with an attached porch that looks out on an incredible waterfront view. There is a modern kitchen with a breakfast nook, a large dining room, five bedrooms (4 queens, two long singles), 2 full baths, and one-half bath. A portion of our deck is screened for a little shade and an escape from the mosquitos. We also have a large outdoor hot tub for you to soak in.

You are just a short walk through open fields to a shared private ocean beach perfect for launching your kayak. Continue your walk to a shared private dock great for swimming. Our dock is on the local harbor at Lookout Point and faces westward for fantastic sunsets and expansive island views. This is an active lobstering harbor so you can purchase your lobsters right next door!

The Big House is located on an incredible 8-acre private family estate perched above a lush field surrounded by 1,500 feet of ocean frontage. You get to share this calm and quiet estate with a family-owned cottage and a small year-round home. We face west so the sunsets are amazing year-round.

So come swim off the dock, launch your kayak, swim off the rocks, read a book, have a lobster, take walks . . . just relax and enjoy! We look forward to your visit and hope to meet you during your stay.

Family memorial gathering
It was absolutely perfect! The house is simply charming and so well stocked! We were lacking for nothing. The setting is just beyond words.... very special and just has a magical - mystical feeling about it. Sadly we were there less than 48 hours for a family memorial service. It's not often that my mom had all 4 of her children together, as one of my brothers lives in Alaska now. We grew up sailing the Maine coast, and there was something about this house that was just so perfect for us, for this weekend. We met both the owners and they couldn't have been nicer, telling us the history of the property, showing us the art studio and just making us feel so welcome. We would love to come back and stay longer! It's an easy 15 minute drive into Brunswick if you are looking for a bit more action, but you could easily just settle in on the point and happily enjoy the peace and beauty surrounding you.

Winter paradise
This place was perfect for our group of friends celebrating a (significant) birthday. We loved the house--spent mornings in the kitchen, which was beautifully designed and had every amenity you could possibly need. Evenings were spent in the living room, around the wood stove. The bedrooms were large, with very comfortable beds. We loved the property and the beautiful views of the water. All in all, we had a great visit and loved this gorgeous and comfortable spot.

Amazing sunsets!
This is a beautiful house on a huge property looking southeast over Casco Bay. Me and a bunch of friends stayed here for New Year's and had a wonderful time. Lots of nice touches: the kitchen is stocked with every utensil and appliance you could need, there's hundreds of cool books on the shelves in every room, a working wood stove in the living room with tons and tons of wood. The only disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't available during winter. Would definitely recommend this place to friend groups or families looking for an easy stay in a beautiful place.

Great place for family gathering
Our extended family gathered for a couple of days, staying in the Big House and the Bungalow. Both were very comfortable and well-suited to our gathering. The owners were very accessible. I highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful Family Gathering
We stayed in The Big House, as well as the Bungalow, and the Cottage for the small family wedding of our daughter and son-in-law. This house was so comfortable. The Woodmans clearly put love and care into this property.

Why they chose this property

My grandfather bought this property, built the Big House and retired here in 1947. After living all over the Northeast he landed here and never left the state of Maine again. Once you visit you’ll understand why. We all thank my grandfather as four generations have been able to enjoy being here.

What makes this property unique

This is a truly unique property. Despite having three houses you'll have more privacy, peace and quiet than you might imagine. The views and walking paths are spectacular. Every season is truly a pleasure.
