About this property
Spectacular Oceanfront Estate with Beautiful Sunsets on 8 acres
The “Big House” is part of an incredible 8-acre private estate with a shared private beach, walking trails, cliff views, a shared deep water dock, and even a freshwater swimming pond. The Big House is a 3,000 sqft fully winterized year-round home built in 1947 by my grandfather. The house features a large living room with an attached porch and an incredible waterfront view. There is a modern kitchen with a breakfast nook, a large dining room, five bedrooms (4 queens, two long singles), two full baths, and one half bath. A section of our deck is screened to escape mosquitoes and provide some shade.
You are only a short walk through open fields to a shared private ocean beach, which is perfect for launching your kayak. From there, you can continue on to a shared private dock that is great for swimming. Our dock is located in the local harbor at Lookout Point and faces west, offering fantastic sunsets and expansive views of the islands. This is an active lobstering harbor, so you can purchase fresh lobsters right next door!
The Big House is on an incredible 8-acre private family estate perched above a lush field and surrounded by 1,500 feet of ocean frontage. You can share this calm, quiet estate with a family-owned cottage and a small year-round home. We face west, so the sunsets are fantastic year-round.
So come swim off our dock, launch your kayak, swim off the rocks, read a book, have a lobster, take walks, or simply relax and enjoy! We look forward to your visit and hope to meet you during your stay.

About the host
Hosted by Susan and Ned Woodman

Susan and Ned took over the management of the Big House a few years ago. We enjoy sprucing it up and making it available for you. Susan has a background in children’s text book publishing. Ned is a “jack of all trades” type and has worked as a high-tech manager and carpenter.
Why they chose this property
My grandfather bought this property, built the Big House, and retired here in 1947. After living all over the Northeast, he landed here and never left the state of Maine again. Once you visit, you’ll understand why. We all thank my grandfather, as four generations have enjoyed being here.
What makes this property unique
This is a truly unique property. Despite having three houses, you'll have more privacy, peace, and quiet than you might imagine. The views, sunsets, and walking paths are spectacular. Every season here is a pleasure.
