Return to days past among the same sunrises and ocean breezes that have met this home for almost 100 years. The Lumber Man's House, a 1920's Melbourne Beach treasure, has been owned by the same Florida family for four generations. Remarkable hand-carved cypress accents surround all the modern amenities needed for comfort and refreshment. Every creak, quirk and crack reflects generations of memories and now your family can be a part.
Outside is the large deck with private beach access. Dine alfresco at the picnic table and take in the stars in the evening. Coming back from the sand and surf, use the rinse off station at the top of the steps, or take advantage of the private concrete-block outdoor shower around the side of the house.
The house retains much of its 1920's charm across 3 bedrooms. The entry level includes 1 bedroom with a small ensuite half-bath (2 twin beds are set up together, but you can separate them, if desired), the dining room and kitchen. The next level up is the large family room with panoramic beach views (1 sofa bed). Above the family room are two bedrooms (4 twins; 2 twins) that share a full bath. The basement level includes a small half bath, a separate walk-in shower, a large storage area with access to the outdoor shower. This is a true beach house! If you are looking for perfect appointments and fine finishes, this is not the stay for you, but for a simple, comfortable home your family will love, look no further.
Cable TV, Wifi and central A/C are included. You are welcomed with a large front yard and separate two car garage that holds a Charcoal grill, beach toys, boogie boards and beach chairs. Laundry services are available minutes away.
Melbourne Beach is one of Florida's oldest beach communities. No high rises, or huge crowds here, just a historic beach neighborhood full of charm. Several great restaurants, a market and a pharmacy are a quick quarter-mile drive or stroll from the house. A perfect evening walk takes you across to the Ryckman Park pier on the Indian River.
