Cool place on loud road

Really cool place property manager is great. It was on a very loud road and there was a couple trash can close by with bird moving the trash around, which where of the only down sides other wise really beautiful location (super close to the beach!!!!) and a really beautiful and cute building.

Cocles beach great house and access.

Location is great! Directly acroos from Cocles Beach so had great acess. As stated, the road is noisy at night but you know that going into your stay. Host responded immediately to all of our questions. A few bars/restaurants right by. Would stay again.

Beach stay in the middle of the activity

The cabina and beach are amazing. The host and property manager were very responsive. Most reviews mention the noise of the traffic. Those are correct, but the listing does mention that it is on the highway.

The location is a perfect spot in between some amazing areas to check out (all recommend by the host). While I’m not a surfer, it was super neat to hang out by the beach and watch other folks surf the waves. If you are a surfer and/or want to learn, there are several local business on the same street that will teach you how to surf. There’s a few amazing restaurants within walking distance, and some were so good we went back a few days later for another plate. As other reviews mentioned, you will hear the traffic. This did not bother us much as we were tired from doing activities all day. There was one slight hiccup, and the host was quick to address it within 24hrs. The property manager that oversees the property is amazing and easy to get in touch with when needed. Both the host and property managers were quick to respond to my messages and questions. One suggestion- if you plan to stay local all week, just rent a car for the drive to the house and back to the airport. Rent a bicycle or scooter for the week as the roads are super flat and easy to access. Prices are super reasonable and not expensive.

Great location, fantastic host!

Everything was as described in the add. Great place, right next to the beach and conveniently located between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo. The place was clean, had everything you needed, with a bonus of a laundry facility. The only slight downside was the road noise, both, during the day and night, but it’s something that was described, so we knew that may be a slight issue. The communication with the host was fantastic, very quick replies and the host adjusted to our plan change without any issues. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend it.

Beachside gem!

We had a wonderful time while here. The place is thoughtfully designed and incredibly convenient for fun at the beach. We weren't ready for how loud the traffic would be, at all hours or how warm without AC, but were able to adjust and thoroughly enjoy the time there. The mojitos at the hotel bar next door were delicious!

The home was comfortable, love the outdoor kitchen and dining area. Right on a busy road next to the beach it is loud at night while trying to sleep. We left early due to the noise and the host refunded some of money even though not obligated to, very nice of him.

March 5 nights stay

We needed this particular location, 2 bedrooms, 2 washrooms, and additional outside shower, so it suited us. We knew it is just on the road, so we were prepared for the noise. The owner and the property manager are very nice. Good communication and immediate response.

Great Location and Home

We really enjoyed staying at this property. The home is very comfortable and the location is great. The big fans directly above the beds made sleeping comfortable. The property manager and owner were very responsive. There is traffic noise, but that did not bother us. Our only complaint would be the ants - there were way more than we've dealt with on previous trips to CR - but I would still recommend this home without hesitation.

Nice Location and fun atmosphere.

This was a nice place to stay and was close to everything without being in the middle of it. Lots of restaurants walking distance and in between 2 towns if you need to get something. The beach is directly across the street. This street is the only road on this coast so it can get a little busy/noisy. House only holds 4 at most but if you had a few friends staying around this would be a great place to meet up cook meals and walk to the beach. Biggest drawback is no A/C so if your not use to humid weather it could get a little warm for you but the ceiling fans will cool you off.

My stay was very relaxing, however, the PM should invest in a personality and check in on the guest periodically, especially a female traveling alone. On the day I left, she was parked right outside the gate and when I got out in the rain and knocked on her window, she wouldn’t even acknowledge I was standing there. I had to call her on the phone. I just wanted to make sure I was headed in the right direction for Escazu. She was never welcoming or kind. She would be the reason I would have second thoughts about returning

Steps from Cocles Beach - as advertised!

Beautiful beach steps away! The king bed was very comfortable - two fans and ocean breezes to keep you cool. The outdoor and indoor shower were warm with lots of pressure. Communication with host and property manager was prompt. Accurate description off an outdoor kitchen, no air conditioning, and traffic noise. Heads up - the revving of ATV’s and motorcycles can be LOUD. But you knew that.

Coffee on the beach is right across the street.

The house is very cute and you can’t beat the view. Step across the street and you are on the beach. My wife was working and (barring some Latin American mas o Minos the internet worked great. There are animals all around the house including an active and lively raccoon that takes a little work to keep your food safe but, for the most part, they have thought of everything. Take the notice about the noise seriously, though. If you are a light sleeper or reggae music playing all day from the bar next door is going to bother you, you might have issues. It was not an issue for us and Shara was very responsive and helpful with anything that came up. You will love Cocles as we did.

Great location, responsive hosts

This house is in an amazing location and comes stocked with beach essentials (nice Tommy Bahama-style backpack chairs, towels, even noodles!). The hosts are wonderful. The hosts left plenty of bottled water for us to use, and the kitchen is well stocked with pans, French press, etc. It was fun to cook while looking over the ocean! Quick note on the layout for future renters: the house is laid out bathroom-first bedroom-second bedroom, so to get to the indoor bathroom, you have to walk through the first bedroom. The second bedroom has its own door to the outside and can access the (fully private) outdoor shower and toilet. It was fine for our group. The hosts were extremely responsive and quickly sent someone to fix the one issue we had. I would highly recommend them!

Beautiful Property at the Beach

My wife and I stayed 6 nights at Dan's property and it was in a beautiful location right across from Cocles Beach. The property was well appointed and I really did enjoy cooking in the outdoor kitchen, having morning coffee and people watching throughout the day. We enjoyed quick trips into Puerto Viejo and Cahuita and we enjoyed long walks on the beach. It was easy to go 2 hours. The beach was never busy like when we were in Samara which was nice and the ocean was beautiful. One thing you need to be prepared for is the noise from the road in front. It is our only thing we had trouble with. During the day it's busy, but the traffic is typically slow, but at night they go way faster and it was very difficult to sleep. Dan did let us know into our trip about a speaker they use with white noise and they do have ear plugs as well. Those helped but just know it is disruptive sleeping. At least it was for us. I'm not sure we'll be back to the Caribbean side but if we are I would stay again.
