Great home with everything you could ever want. You only need your suitcase because the owner has everything else! Beautiful large outdoor area and magnificent views.
Everything about our stay was 5 stars! The house itself is amazing with terrific views. The house is very well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. Communication with the owner was great. Will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time at this lovely home!!! The home was beautiful and so were the mountains. It is so well equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. You will feel like you are in your own home. Loved the two different areas for watching tv as it was a big football weekend!!
Jamie the host was so nice and responded so quickly everytime I reached out to her
We will definitely return to this lovely mountain home in the future, for another relaxing vacation!!!
What a great view! Our family enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay at this great mountain home. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Plenty of activities down the mountain: restaurants, golf, shopping and more. Also we were able to do a hike from the house. We will definitely be planning to stay here in the future.
Words can not explain! The view, house, amenities and property were as described and above our expectations. Our family of 5 had a wonderful and relaxation vacation. The hike to the waterfalls was well worth it! We hope to stay again! Thank you for sharing this amazing home!
Beautiful and spacious home in NC mountains provided a quiet and picturesque location for my adult family members to meet and reunite. Plenty of comfortable seating around the fireplace in the living room while two large decks and outdoor seating offered wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and valley below.
The house was great! Everything was clean and well maintained. The owner is easy to work with. This definitely isn’t the typical bare bones rental. The view and property was great.
We loved our stay at Wilstone Lodge! The views from the deck were magnificent and enjoyed in the mornings and each evening. The house is hilltop - but definitely worth the daily mountain road commute to town. We love the Sapphire/Cashiers/Highlands area! We enjoyed a most relaxing vacation in a beautiful mountain setting and will return again. Jamie was a wonderful host - with great communication!
Wonderful property! Just as pictured. Extremely stocked with items so I would suggest stopping by the house before heading to the store so you can see what you actually need. I’ve never stayed at a property with better views. We all enjoyed our time here- from adults to children.
We have stayed in the area for several years straight. Overall this was the best house we have stayed in. Great views and trails close to the house and close to our favorite places slab town and the fix for when we are hungry and want to go out. However it could be a house we didn’t leave for a week to go out.
We normally ask questions before we commit to renting a home, and Jamie was outstanding in answering our advance questions quickly and completely. We had one minor issue after we arrived and within a few minutes of emailing her we heard back with info to fix the issue. The house and view are everything that the photos and reviews show, and then some. The two extremely large decks are highly unusual in a home in this price range. Although there are homes within a few hundred feet of this house, we never heard a sound from any of them. The road leading up to the house is paved but steep, with many sharp turns, but everyone drives it slowly and there is room for two cars to pass by each other. It can be a bit intimidating at first, but we got used to it quickly. We highly recommend this home and host.
Home is very comfortable and very well equipped. The decks are spectacular. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking.
Owner extremely helpful providing information on the area.
Beautiful spot, the panoramic vista that greets you upon opening the door has to be seen to be believed. Very well equipped and designed, perfect place! Thank you…
We were so fortunate that this house was available for us to rent. Everything about it was perfect! Jamie is a wonderful host and keeps the house immaculate! Thank you so much for a very memorable weekend!
We feel very fortunate to have booked this property for our sibling/spouses family reunion. We are a group of retirees but this property would easily accommodate families with children. The property is situated on the Blue Ridge Escarpment with breathtaking views. It is appointed with great detail for a relaxing stay or as a base to explore the beautiful area. Each bedroom is it's own suite, living rooms and kitchen are spacious with every amenity. We spent most of our time gathering and playing cards on the deck enjoying the fantastic sunrises and sunsets. The host thought of everything.

Amazing property with amazing views. Well stocked kitchen and so many amenities. Jamie was very helpful with recommendations and was quick to respond to any questions we had. Loved that there was detailed information. You simply can’t beat the views from the porches! Can’t wait to return.
Beautiful home! Jamie was very responsive to all inquiries and made a point to let me know when something needing to be fixed at the house. There are some curvy roads but they were not bad!
Very nice clean cabin, extra large covered back porch with wood burning fireplace and satellite TV. Located at the top of the mountain with paved roads all the way. All the amenities you need to enjoy yourself. Spectacular views with privacy. Great Southern exposure, so you never have the Sun blaring into the home/porch from the East or West. This place did not feel like a rental, it felt like home. Jamie was great to communicate with. One of the best places we have stayed.
This was one of the best experiences in my life and that’s a special statement considering my wife and I have been to many places around the world! If your looking for a beautiful and big mountain house with dreamy views from 4,300 feet up and on top of the mountain, don’t look further, your dream vacation is right here! The house is in new condition and has the best of everything, from the large rooms and bathrooms , to the dreamy kitchen, family room and dining area. The view from the main floor and back deck is somewhat surreal, it’s almost hard to put into words. You won’t find a fireplace in many places like the one on the outside deck. It’s a stunning stacked stone fireplace that you would typically expect inside large well appointed homes. The inside and outside fireplace are both wood burning but they include a gas line to quickly lite your fire! The property the house is on the largest piece of land I’ve seen going up the mountain, about 3 acres, most mountain homes were on a piece of land big enough just to fit the house. While the 2 mile drive up and around the mountain is a bit steep, hilly and winding, we took it slow and actually enjoyed the beautiful houses and views along the route! If you love the outdoors like us, there are countless trails at all difficultly levels the see nature and absolutely beautiful waterfalls Sapphire is well known for. Obviously my wife and I loved this house and location, I do believe you’ll not go away disappointed and will say, this house met everything described in the VRBO summary and more! One last note, the house owner was extremely responsive, had all the answers to our inquiry’s and we felt like she tried to make sure everything was perfect for us! Great job! Thank you and hope to be back with our family!
What a wonderful place to spend Spring Break! House was immaculate, and we immediately felt at home. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a great selection of games, puzzles, and books. Views were stunning and access to private trail head was amazing, never needed to move our car. Our kids were delighted to search for gnomes and fairies on the beautiful wooded property! Would highly recommend!
Beautiful home… interior pictures do not do this house justice. Can’t beat the location and the view. Owner super responsiveness and helpful.

We recently fell in love with the Cashiers/Sapphire area as an escape from the heat and humidity of almost 30 consecutive summers in Charleston, South Carolina! My husband and I are both from Chattanooga, Tennessee and we feel very much at home in the mountains.
Why they chose this property
When we were looking for a mountain home, we thought we wanted to be closer to Asheville. Then we looked at homes on the Cashiers-Highlands Plateau and the elevation won us over. We are still very close to Brevard and Asheville. We are in love with the lush beauty and waterfalls in Panthertown Valley which is accessible on foot from the front door of Wilstone Lodge.
What makes this property unique
The Nantahala National Forest is 0.4 miles from our doorstep. There is something calming about being in a place where you can walk around and not see many cars or people. But if you need to, you can drive down the mountain and be in the Cashiers grocery store check out line in 20 minutes with a Starbucks in hand!
