RUM & REDFISH RETREAT! Unplug, reset, amid the trees. On the west end of Oak Island, perfect for when you come back from the beach away from the hustle and bustle!. The beach is just over 1 mile from the house. The home is a 3BR, 2BA open concept home, has a well equipped huge kitchen & breakfast bar with 4 stools. In the sunroom, that adjoins the kitchen, is a dining table and access to the 'walled garden' . The living room and kitchen are one large room--great for quality family time! To the other side of the living room is the study, where there's games, puzzles & a desk in case you need your computer. The primary bedroom has a king size bed & att. full bath. Two other bedrooms share a 3/4 bath in the hallway.
Fire up the grill while the dog plays in the fenced area or enjoy the front porch with a book! There are bikes for your use, also enjoy beach chairs, cooler & cart for your adventures! Just minutes to local shops , restaurants, Farmer's Market & playground for kids at Middleton Park and grocery shopping. 20 min to Southport center and 40 min to Wilmington. WIFI, streaming TV capabilities. There is a washer/dryer for your use, but have linen service as part of the cleaning. You'll love it here!


*On January 10th, 2023 the Oak Island Town Council voted to approve paid parking on the island. The paid parking will be in effect from April 1 through September 30th and the hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The cost will be $5 per hour, $20 per day and $80 per week. There will be a limited (1000) number of annual passes available for purchase for $175. Violations will be issued if these new rules are not followed.*

Beautiful home, clean, and cozy! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals during our stay. We had an issue with the crate we had brought with us for our puppy so having one available on-site was a huge plus that saved us from buying a new one while on vacation. Place was nice and clean. A couple of bikes need repair but 2 were in good shape. Yard needs some maintenence but overall the house was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. Would book again. Love the sun room and furnishings were very comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone. A little ways from the beach but bike rides and walking area was great. Host communicated quickly and precise.

Family Vacation with our 3 teenagers and 3 fur babies.

Jennifer was awesome and the house was perfect for us. We have a stubborn Lab who refuses steps and the outside fenced in area was really nice. Very nice, quiet neighborhood as well.

Serene and Pet Paradise

This was a very cozy home. Perfect for our family. Large lounge areas, enclosed patio and fence for doggie exercise. Beach chairs, bikes, grill, etc. Fig tree! They thought of Everything!! We will definitely stay here again. So much love has gone into this property. feel lije a weekend at gramma.

Stayed the week to venture out for the area beaches. Oak Island isn't as busy as some of the other which was perfect for not being crowded. On the parking rules, we NEVER has any issues, easy, always available parking. House was very clean and plenty of parking. Would most defiantly stay here again. Thank you.

Perfect vacay!

The property was perfect for our family and 2 dogs. House was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space and the fenced in lot was perfect for our dogs. Not far from the beach at all. We drove and paid for a week of parking. Close to grocery stores etc. The wagon and beach chairs really came in handy each day! We would definitely stay here again☺️

Great place to stay

We loved this place. It was clean when we arrived, the kitchen was stocked wel with everything you’d need, the location was great and quiet, and the layout of the house made it feel very spacious. Not really anything bad to say. The beach supplies came in handy for sure, although both umbrellas were broken, but not a big deal. Our 2 small kids loved the twin beds in the bedroom and the bed was very comfy. Would love to stay again in the future.

Cozy, clean house at Oak Island

Came here for a family vacation. The house is clean and cozy and we felt comfortable in the space. The house is close to the beach, close enough for a bike ride. There were beach chairs available too. The kitchen is big and functional. Bathrooms were clean and everything worked. When we choose to come back to Oak Island we have no reason to look at any other property, for us this was perfect.

Oak Island Week

All smooth with rental, check-in, and communications with owner. One minor glitch with bedding. But quickly handled by owner. Loved that it is all on one floor. Well appointed place and kitchen and beach stuff that were provided were fine. All in all a very good stay. Oak Island has become our favorite NC beach town and beach.

Family Time at the Coast

Beautifully updated property with charming accents throughout the home. Remodeled and modernized throughout but many original details like exposed beams and (ornamental) fireplace. Baths tastefully remodeled. Not stark but also not cluttered. Dog friendly flooring/furnishings. Clean. Convenient location. Darling courtyard, secluded. Owners thought of everything needed. Quiet area. Nice walkable area, quick drive or bike ride to the beach.

Redfin review

I really enjoyed staying at Redfin. The house was clean and there were plenty of throws to put on furniture to protect it from my dogs. The kitchen was stocked. The location is close to the beach but you will have ride or drive a bit to find a path to the sand. It is an easy bike ride to the beach. It was great to have access to bikes and beach stuff. But if you are taking your dogs to the beach with you, you will have to get in the car to get to the beach. The only thing that isn’t easy to see in the pictures is that the fully fenced yard is not attached to the house. So, if you’re traveling with dogs, you can’t just let them out unattended to go out. But there is a fully fenced enclosure where your dogs can stay. Overall it was a great experience.

Nice week in Oak Island

The property was located in a nice neighborhood of Oak Island. It was wonderful to have a couple of bikes and beach stuff as we traveled by airplane and couldn’t bring all of our toys. There were a few games in the house as well to keep us busy.

Absolutely Wonderful!

I would definitely recommend this property. We all enjoyed our stay and were very happy with everything that this property had to offer. Plenty of room, the bikes were nice to have, I loved that the kitchen included everything I needed to make Thanksgiving Dinner. Plenty of cookware, utensils, everything! We will definitely stay here again next time we return to Oak Island. Thank you!!

Relaxing at oak island

Overall comfortable however there is a musty smell in the entry room which I noticed on my clothing which was in bedroom closet. After your in the house you really don't notice it. Otherwise furniture etc all areas was comfortable and clean. The grill needed a good cleaning before we used it We all did have a great time though.

Our family loves the town of Oak Island and of course the beach! We have dogs that are family members too, so having them travel with us is a must. We wanted to share this experience with others and thats why we rent the home.

Why they chose this property

This property was previously owned by an artist. We renovated the home retaining the character of the stained glass art! We enjoy the open floor plan and extra spaces to enjoy. Our family grew up in a rural town in New England, so the spacious lot with the grand oaks in the yard---we love! We hope the to create spaces outside to gather when you're not at the beach!

What makes this property unique

The benefits of being here off the beach front is the peaceful walks and ride bikes in the neighborhood and the peaceful yard plus walled garden to enjoy. The fenced yard for your dogs. A quiet dead end road without much traffic. When the weather is not great at the beach, it may be different here at the house!
