Welcome to our beach house! This is our vacation home and we stay here often with our friends and family. We keep it as nice and clean as possible, and are always upgrading. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with 3 King beds and two twin beds, all linens provided. We have an office with everything you need to work from The Beach! Monitor, printer, shredder, paper, etc. Our 1700 sf home is thoroughly cleaned after each guest.
Our House has a great layout for multiple families. The master bedroom is on one side of the house and the other bedrooms and bathroom are on the other side of the house. The huge family room is in the middle. The covered front patio is great to sit in the shade with a drink and the fans running to keep you cool. There is also a gate to keep your dog out there with you. The deck in the back is good for getting some sun.
Enjoy amazing the sunrises and sunsets on the unique South facing Oak Island. Let your only worry in the world be, 'is the tide gonna reach my chair' -Zac Brown Band
Bringing your boat? The public water access is just a few blocks over. The driveway is big enough to store your boat trailer, or there’s a public lot by the water access. We have beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and a cooler for you to use. If it rains on your beach vacation don’t worry our family room comfortably seats 8+ to watch a movie! There are plenty of games for the kids and the adults. There’s a covered patio in the front and a large open deck in the back.
The location is fantastic! About a 1/2 mile to the beach, 1/2 block from the Intracoastal Waterway, a 3 blocks from the grocery store, ice cream, restaurants, shopping, miniature golf, and everything Oak Island has to offer. Oak Island has a great small town feel with only a couple 'chain' businesses. The vast majority of shops and restaurants are locally owned small business. Please visit as many as you can, you will not be disappointed.
Historic Southport is a short 20 minute drive to enjoy the southern charm, shopping, and restaurants. Hop on a ferry to beautiful Bald Head Island. Or the vehicle ferry will take you to Fort Fisher, and then a short drive to Wilmington.
I will provide you with a very small amount of necessities in case you check in late and cannot get to the store until the following day (paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc). This is just a starter pack, not enough for your entire stay.
Well behaved dogs are welcome - if caged at night and when you are gone. Dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture or in the beds! You must bring your own cage. There will be a one time $175.00 pet fee, max 2 dogs. Sorry, no cats or any other animals allowed. The dog rules MUST be followed. If your dog is not well behaved, this might not be the best place to bring your furry friend.
For everyone's safety and security we have video surveillance on the outside of the building - nothing inside.

Perfect location for a quiet, quick trip. Close to grocery stores, the scoop shop, and more. Split floor plan worked well for a multigenerational trip.
We just got back from our trip! We had a wedding to attend and needed a place that was able to accommodate our dog. This house was perfect! All the rooms were nice with king size beds and comfortable mattresses…. So important! The living room was so spacious with lots of seating Nice backyard for taking our dog out, and a great front porch for relaxing! We loved the quiet neighborhood. Only a short distance to the beach. The kitchen was immaculate with everything we needed to cook there. Really nice appliances! We will definitely be returning. That area is so nice and low key and the beach is beautiful!
This is a great house (and Clean!) with all we needed for an adult family trip (3 couples) to visit our Coastguardsman. There is a nice sized table for eating and playing games. The living room is beautiful with leather reclining couches. Nice little touches ( look for Dinosaurs). The A/C worked great. The 3 king- sized beds were comfy. *Note: there is a day bed that could sleep 2 children (sleep 8) which is located in the office which is attached/inside the room of one of the king sized bed bedrooms. It would not be ideal for an addition adult because there is no privacy other than a curtain.* The master had a dresser and closet space but other two rooms were more limited for closet space but we used the office for our dressing area. The location is perfect for walking to the beach (0.8 mile walk) and the neighborhood is very quiet and walking the dog was great in the neighborhood. There are 2 grocery stores within a 3 min drive, and coffee and ice cream and restaurants and mini golf all within a mile. Close beach parking is very very limited and you have to pay to park. Sunrises are best from the ICW side of the neighborhood (which is super close) and sunsets are great from the point (15 min drive). We enjoyed beach days at Caldwell beach as well (10 min drive) and has a parking lot. Leashed Dogs are allowed on the beach. There were beach chairs, beach towels, and a wagon and a cooler. :)
We have enjoyed our 2nd week this summer. The house is close to camp on Caswell Beach. We will definitely see you again. Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us.
My family of 6 and I had a wonderful vacation here. The home had plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable. The house has everything you need. The front porch is the best! The house is close to everything yet the street is so quiet. Michaela is so easy to communicate with and so helpful. Would love to stay here again.
We had a wonderful week. The porch was my favorite. It felt like home to all of us. Thank you for allowing us to stay. We will be back the week after July 4th. We look forward to it.
We were in town with folks from all over the country for a family emergency, and needed a place to use as a “home base” while managing the issue at hand. This house was PERFECT. It was squeaky clean, and so well equipped, it’s like they anticipated our every need. The property manager was an angel, and really helped to make our stay easy. I can’t wait to come back and stay for a beach vacation!

Thank you, Joy. Glad I was able to help you during a difficult time. Please come again when you can go to the beach and relax a little bit.
Great house, convenient location, pleasant communications with owner
Very clean, well-furnished, plenty of space inside and out. Three full-size bedrooms and two full baths. Kitchen well-stocked. Very well-maintained front porch and back deck. Convenient location - quiet street w/ pleasant neighbors but still just a short walk/drive to beach, restaurants, and grocery stores. Owner very nice and check-in easy.
The online photos do not do this home justice. It is just beautiful, with large, spacious rooms and a huge covered porch. The owner supplies tons of games, coffee, dishes, bbq grill, etc. Everything you need to enjoy a vacation stay. If you forget anything, Food Lion is directly down the street. You can walk to the grocery store, several shops and restaurants, and the beach. There is also beach parking on 61st St. Not one complaint!
House is clean, nicely furnished, had plenty of hooks for towels & swimsuits, & at great location. Beds are were very comfortable. Kitchen is nicely stocked with utensils, dishes, pots & pans, & small appliances. The ice maker in fridge works but is small, so I’d suggest having a cooler for ice. We had 6 adults & 1 child, & had plenty of room to spread out or all hang together in the awesome living room. Would definitely stay again!

This was our second straight year of renting this property. We had planned a different week, and the house was booked. We were so impressed last year with Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere and connection with the owner we decided to switch weeks so we were able to stay at Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere. If anyone is looking for a property with all the comforts of home this is the place. We are looking forward to our next stay at Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere!!
This was a great place for us to stay with friends. The home is so warm and well-appointed - really could not think of anything more that they could have provided. The house had many small things that you always have to run out several times to the store for. The owner was assessable by email and answered all question quickly. The owner's went up and above and refunded a pet deposit. They didn't leave anything to chance - great communication and care that we had a wonderful stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back.
