Imagine you & your family walking to the beach past the park where children are playing in the splash pad or climbing on the monkey bars, playing basketball or tennis. The free outdoor concerts located at Middleton Park in the summer are all within 5 minutes walking distance. In fact, the grocery store, restaurants and bars are also within walking distance. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful after a recent remodel and fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, too.

You'll love the colors throughout the home because they're so happy and cheerful. You can sit on the covered porches out back or in the front as you watch the sunrise or sun set on the beautiful Oak Island.

Latane was a very welcoming , friendly & helpful host. The IH is close to restaurants, 49th St beach access & neighborhood is quiet—great for walking, biking & running. For those not keen on those activities, Latane has a very nice golf cart for rent—perfect for exploring Oak Island. Would stay here again! Thank you!

Great Stay

We had a great time staying at the Island House. It is the perfect location near the main street in Oak Island and near everything you need. The property is cute and clean. Latane was a great host. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was very clean and so neat. I always want a clean place and this was just perfect.

Great house and location

The house is great for my family stay. Very convenient location in walking distance to the beach, grocery store, ice cream shop and restaurant. The house is comfortable and we had fun with the pool table. The outdoor shower was great to wash off the beach sand. The only downfall was the hot tub was not warm enough. You might inquire about that if that's a must for your stay. Thank you for the great beach weekend!

Location is great. 8 - 10 min walk to the beach.

Property is the right size for a small family. The pool table is nice but would probably be better if there is a TV in the room. The cabinets need to move a little to provide some more room when playing pool. The kitchen is stocked with a nice welcome of fresh fruits.

Great Weekend Get-Away

The Island House was a perfect place for our weekend getaway to cheer on our friend during the OKI Marathon especially with the close proximity to Middleton Park. Latane was an exceptional host and was very responsive to our text/questions over the weekend. The house was spotless and well equipped (missed the Keurig - but the coffee pot did just fine!). The pool table was a hit of the weekend. Would definitely stay again, especially when the 3rd bedroom is available.

Wonderful stay!!

We had the best week! The house is in a perfect location; close to the beach, restaurants and shopping but still quiet and relaxing. We had everything we needed and more. The kitchen is beautifully updated, beds were very comfortable, and the hot tub was a treat for all of us. I can’t speak highly enough of Latane, the owner of the home. She lives in the cutest tiny home on the back of the property. We had all of the perks of having the owner close by without sacrificing any privacy. Latane went above and beyond to make the stay extra special for our young kids. It was a perfect week. We can’t wait to come back!

Latane, The Fabulous Host At The Beautiful Beach House!

Two sisters and a close friend spent nine days at Latane's beautiful beach house. It is one block from the Publix grocery store, BBQ restaurant and three blocks to the park and the beach. The house is cheerfully decorated with a beachy vibe and and has all the items you need (kitchen, linens, beach towels, etc.). There is a sunny recreation room with a pool table, which we enjoyed. The kitchen and living room are one large space so that everyone can hang out together. There is a hot tub and the front and back porches are covered with seating -- great for coffee in the morning and wine at night! Latane is so responsive if you should need anything and a delight to get to know. We had a fabulous time on Oak Island, poking around Southport and taking the ferry over to Bald Head Island. We definitely plan to return again soon. We highly recommend Latane's abode!

Nice Island Getaway

We were very impressed with the condition and accommodations of the property. We have visited Oak Island for over 20 years and always stayed in the same house until it was sold last year. Therefore, we had to look for a new location this year that met our needs. In the past we were accustomed to being closer to the beach, but this house as stated in the description is only a short walk to the beach which was fine. Of course, there was always plenty of parking near the beach if you prefer to drive. The location is extremely convenient to many shopping and eating options such as Groceries and restaurants within walking distances including the local Donut shop on the same street!! :-) The homeowner was very pleasant to correspond with and answered all our questions promptly concerning the property since we were new to the Vrbo rental process. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay with the many conveniences offered.

Great Little Oak Island Find!

My partner and I stayed here for the Oak Island Marathon race in February. The place is immaculate. We always look for a pool table and hot tub if we can find them and this place definitely delivered. The pool table room is amazing. We did have an unfortunate noise incident with a dog in the tiny house out back, but the owner made sure it was taken care of and communicated with me professionally and thoroughly. We'll definitely be looking to stay here again.

This is the home to stay in on Oak Island! It is beautitful, modern and spacious. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach. Latine is the perfect host, she knows the area well and is available to help in any way. We would definitely stay there again.
