About this property
Tranquility By The Ocean
Our home was brought over from Denmark in the 1980's. It has been meticulously maintained. The kitchen is a cook's delight and provides ample room for entertaining. The original home has the charm of a log cabin with the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We encourage you to walk the meadow down to the waters edge for a morning stroll or a romantic evening walk under the moonlight. The space comfortably sleeps 4 adults.

Absolutely as beautiful and peaceful as the listing stated. The outdoor spaces are just lovely gardens, meadow and deck, as well as a perfect screen-room for enjoying. The owners are so friendly and check in was easy. I highly recommend this perfect spot.
Beautiful property - house, grounds, location. The house is very comfortable - furnishings, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen have everything one needs. Tina is a wonderful host - very responsive and helpful. We will definitely stay again. Thank you!
The owners of this home clearly appreciate the special beauty and character of Deer Isle as well as the unique house and its grounds. It was a special experience.
We had a great stay at the main house at the property, it’s about a block to get to the water.
Great kitchen! Great location! Could walk to the Durham point and vicinity!
Relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful! We were definitely able to recharge. Located within an hour or less drive to many other destinations - including local farmer's markets, Acadia National Park, and LDI Lobster shack by the bridge!
Hosts are welcoming and accommodating!

Thank you Becky! Hope you and Kevin have a wonderful summer.
Beautiful spot for peacefulness with a short walk and access to water and amazing sunsets. The accommodations were spacious with modern simplicity and oh so cozy! After a day of hiking and dinner, relaxing in front of the fireplace became a ritual. We enjoyed a beverage while watching the deer in the pasture or snuggled into the Adirondacks watching the stars! Our hosts def put thought into making this a place we’d want to return- and we will!
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at this lovely home. The home is very comfortably furnished and we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find the grounds even nicer then the photos. Beautifully landscaped with a stunning flower and rock garden, it sits adjacent to a large meadow. We loved sitting in the screened porch that was available to us and watching the family of the deer that would graze daily there. Our hosts were very attentive and accommodating. The beach which is just a minute walk down the lane was a gorgeous place to sit and swim and watch the osprey dive for fish. It is also a great place to put in a kayak and explore the beautiful islands just off shore.
We found this lovely, peaceful property to be the perfect place to explore an area of Maine that was new to us. The accommodations are modern and comfortable, nestled in a beautiful area. A picturesque cove is just a four-minute walk away. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.
We are fitness enthusiast and love the outdoors. We came to Deer Isle Maine 5 years ago and fell in love with the island. The tranquility it offered away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives in Boston kept bringing us back here. We finally decided this was the best place to be when we want to get away.
We own a CrossFit gym in Boston and when we are able to get away you will find us gardening, running the beautiful country roads and enjoying walks by the ocean.
Why they chose this property
We looked all along the coast of Maine and kept coming back to Deer Isle. We instantly fell in love with this home. The original house was brought over from Denmark in the 1980s and is called Trelleborg Hjem. The addition was designed by a local architect in the 1990s. We fell in love with the open field and the easy walk to the ocean. We explore the woods and when the water recedes walk to the island just a short distance from our home.
What makes this property unique
If you are looking for quiet and tranquility this is it. The restaurants are close by and you can easily venture over the bridge to more restaurants and shops in Blue Hill. We love the coffee shop in Deer Isle. Be sure to go early on a Saturday morning to grab a loaf of freshly baked bread from Tinder Hearth--only delivered on Saturdays and Wednesdays. You will find the island to be a fun place to explore or a place to get lost in the beauty of the Maine coast line.
