Conduct Unbecoming

We were actually evicted late evening of our second day of our stay. We arrived with friends on our boats. They all stayed at a marina on their boats but we agreed to meet at our rental and for an hour and head out for our dinner reservation a block from the rental. To our surprise, the host was very upset and claimed that only two people could occupy the rental because of insurance. She felt we were hosting a party and one guest had a dog that stayed on the balcony while we gathered. We would have happily paid a cleaning fee for the dog, had we been asked, despite the fact that the dog never actually entered the rooms. We did have some chips and soda and two people had a glass of wine. This was 5pm on a Sunday afternoon when the 4 other couples joined us. We were quite surprised at the owners attitude and unfriendliness. We told her we would be leaving shortly. She insisted we immediately tell everyone to leave. She even threatened to call the police. We did leave. When we returned after 8pm, the door locks were changed. We contacted her and she told us to take our things and leave. I am 78 years old, my husband is 82. Our guest were all elderly people and equally embarrassed and dismayed. We had been evicted! In my entire life, I have never been treated so badly. I am still shocked at the lack of communication to resolve an issue. She did call VBRO.

Lovely place to stay

My wife and I had a great time staying at the place. The castle room was unique in its decor and quite spacious. The host was nice, friendly and attentive. If you want a nice getaway at a quiet little town near the sea, this is a place to be!
