If your children are not small this wouldn’t be the best family trip. We made it work and had a great off the grid vacation. Thank you.

Great place to stay for 2.

Have a great time in Hocking Hills. This place was the perfect 2 person/couple get away rental for anyone wanted to get out of town and go hiking. Property managers were great and had valuable information about the area and surrounding areas. This rental made our weekend get away what it was. Awesome! Will be booking this rental again in the future!

Nice for the Night

The owners were very kind to allow us a 1 night stay and answered questions quickly. It was just the right size for my husband, dog & I but would have been a tight squeeze with any more people. Comfy bed & was nice to have little treats waiting for us. Just located in a backyard setting, but close to Hocking Hills & restaurants. Perfect if you just need a place to stay while hiking.

Sasquatch Would Approve

Great little camper that was perfect for our needs. Quaint & clean. Cute sasquatch decorations. Hosts went above & beyond (left us snacks & bottled water) & were very easy to get in touch with. Conveniently located between 2 different trailheads for us to go 4-wheeling. We would have no problem staying again if we go back to that area.

Great popup

While this is near Hocking Hills, it's not exactly in the woods. It's right in the town of Carbon Hill. That worked perfectly fine for me. The host responded very quickly and welcomed me when I arrived.

Best birthday trip

I found this gem browsing for a place to celebrate my 50th birthday. I’m so glad I booked it, everything was as described and even better in person. The hosts, James and Bobbi Joe are fantastic people. They put up a happy birthday banner in the camper and even left me a card. Such a wonderful surprise. I recommend this camper to everyone, you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back soon. It’s only 3 miles to get into Nelsonville for shopping or dining, but far enough into the country for a real peaceful stay. I loved how private the camper is, not like being in a crowded campground. Thanks James and Bobbi Joe for such a wonderful experience.

Very Cute Clean Camper

The owners go above and beyond to be good hosts. The camper is very clean. They are available if needed but give you privacy. It's so nice that they leave snacks and drinks for guests. There's also pretty much everything you would need. Including bug spray, cups, silverware, plates, board games, and fire starters. The only thing I would suggest is packing extra towels. We have a dog so we brought blankets for her and her bed but otherwise there are plenty available for guests. I didnt dock points at all because this was my fault completely but if you have a bigger dog like we do then it might be a bit of a squeeze. It's a bit narrow but would be perfect for two people.

PERFECT for my little family!

Hocking hills is beautiful- beautiful and Expensive. This camper, if you're on a budget like me, is an absolute gem of a find. It's cozy, so make sure you like your traveling companion(s), but for the price how can you beat a very comfortable bed, perfect eating area, places to prepare food And a private toilet? you'd pay double for a primitive cabin with a shared outhouse. Its in a small town, so it's not remote but private enough. I'd compare it to a campground level of privacy. The real treat is the Big Foot theme- the entire interior of the camper was redone so it's super cute, clean (I'm talking spotless disinfected), and Sasquatch approved. The owners were extremely easy to communicate with, responsive yet laid back, and offered helpful suggestions on eateries or places to visit. They also provided the most thoughtful touches like mini sodas and snacks (which I devoured). My preschoolers and I enjoyed ourselves immensely, even with daily rain. The WIFI which was a lifesaver in the storms. Overall fantastic experience where I felt- as a mom traveling alone with two young kids- safe, comfortable and relaxed. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

Mis led

The posting misled me. Posting said space would occupy ip to 6. In all reality, space accommodated. We rented for 3 nights and left after 1 night because of occupancy issue. Because I was traveling with my adult daughter, I am opposed to sharing a bed with her. Believing the property description had occupancy of up to 6, we thought we would be able to sleep separately. In discussing situation with the rentor, they were quick to point out verbiage around the property description surrounding the property being ideal for couples, but mot conceding to the statement in the listing about the property accommodating up to 6 people. Rentor beware.

Carbon Hill Camper

We had a great stay. Location was okay for what we were there for. We are not campers and were trying it out for the first time. Let's say it was a bit cramped for the two of us and the bed was too soft, but that's me being fussy. Communication with the host was very good and timely.

A great little getaway

We had an excellent stay at this Bigfoot themed camper. It is perfect for a couple. We had a preteen with us and there was still enough room. It was just what we needed for a perfect weekend. Our hosts communicated well and even left us some yummy snacks. We had a great time.

Cute little camper

This camper was super cute, and it has all the amenities you could ask for- which was REALLY nice! Although, if you're traveling with adults- the space is just not there. I wouldn't recommend for anymore than 3 adults and make sure it's people you don't mind changing in front of. (For example, it was myself, my sister, and my daughter in our group) Also, the bathroom def would not be able to accommodate anyone on the larger side, my daughter who is very petite even felt claustrophobic. There is a shower as advertised, but the shower itself did not work, so we had to use the faucet in the tub which made it virtually impossible to wash our hair. U would also warn anyone to be aware that it is literally pitch black at night, no light accept from the stars- even on the roads. We enjoyed it! But anyone who has little ones might reconsider.

Super cozy

This was super cute and cozy, we wanted to get away for weekend anniversary and not kill the bank account. Very quiet relaxing, little trail behind it was nice as well. We had 2 small dogs and was great for them as well. James was very quick to respond when needed something or asked questions. Next time we stay gonna try out the Skoolie!.

Cozy wooded adventure

Cozy getaway spot. Loved the bigfoot theme! 😊 Clean and well equipped. Bathroom may be difficult to maneuver for larger people. Owners were quite pleasant and very responsive. We had an issue with the grill and they offered theirs. They gave us great information on local sites and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay! We're definitely looking forward to checking out the bus rental on our next trip!

About the host

Host profile image
We are a young family in our (30s) & grew up 5 miles from here. We bought this property in 2020 as a (starter home) & put in a TON of work to get it where it is now! We have a 3yr old named Zola, an 8mo old named Dallas that live here. We truly enjoy hosting because we want to share our little slice of Hocking Hills Paradise with others. Providing our short term rentals allows us to spend more precious time with our children as well as teach them life lessons along the way. We are very grateful for our guest knowing that without them, our family situation wouldn’t be/look the same.

Why they chose this property

Carbon Hill is a very small, close knit community. Most of everyone knows everybody here. We look out for one another. It’s a beautiful & peaceful place to life & raise children. I could of said all of this by just saying “ TRUE SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY IN SOUTHEASTERN OHIO”

What makes this property unique

Creativity. Thinking outside of the box. A retro but updated cozy camper & a pretty unique converted school bus/camper/cabin!
