Firefly Smith Lake House is a peaceful retreat, just 1 hour from Birmingham and 25 minutes from I-65 (Exit 305). Our cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bath lakefront home comfortably sleeps 9 guests and offers stunning water views, easy lake access, and endless outdoor fun!

Great swim cove close to DG!

This clean home had everything we needed for our trip and more! The kids loved swimming and the Lilly pad! The teens enjoyed the basement! Owners were very responsive!

Great Lake House

We really enjoyed our stay. This home is in a very quiet area with little to no boat traffic. Our kids enjoyed swimming and the Lilly pad. We brought our boat and really enjoyed this part of the lake. We will be back!

Hidden treasure

This lake house was everything we were expecting and MORE! By far one of our best finds! Having the ability to rent their boat was soooo much fun & convenient!!! We will definitely be back!!

Loved it!

Our experience was fantastic! We loved the house, the decks, the dock - all so serene and beautiful. The location is excellent - located on a quiet waterway that gives you separation from the busier areas but with easy access to the main part of the lake. We rented the boat - it was very easy to operate and we loved the ease of getting on the water. Tommy’s hospitality was outstanding! He really thought of everything. Can’t say enough good things!

What an incredible place!

This house was amazing! Not only was it so fun and relaxing for everyone in the family including the grandparents, it was comfortable and just the right amount of space for 7 of us. The house came with almost everything you could need and the lake was beautiful! The home owners were so personable and responded to anything we reached out for right away! The neighbors were also very kind and patient with us. The whole town was just so sweet! It was just overall an amazing vacation. We got to see birds, turtles, fireflies, and frogs! We rented a boat for a few days at the Smith Lake Boating Adventures, which i highly recommend! The firefly lake house was an experience we will always remember!

birthday surprise cabin weekend

We had a great time at the little blue cabin! Tommy’s communication through the whole process was excellent. The space in the house was great for the 4 of us but we really spent all of our time on the back porch and the dock. We loved taking the kayaks out for a spin, napping in the hammock and grilling our catch from our fishing charter. Highly recommend smith lake fishing adventures if interested in a great bass fishing experience. The kitchen had the basics. There were plenty of paper products and linens. The cabin was near other properties but they were not in use and the space felt really private there is no development yet across the water so you get a really nice nature view instead of staring at someone else across the lake. We enjoyed making memories at the little blue cabin!

Beautiful Place on Smith Lake

We enjoyed our stay. The boys loved ping pong, basketball, and the kayaks. Beds were comfortable and all was clean. Highly recommend.

Birthday at the Lake

We had an outstanding stay at the Firefly Lake House. The communication with Kristi was excellent. The home was so clean, and the bed was top tier in comfort! All docks and decks were in great condition.

Very peaceful

Stayed while attending the Bassmaster elite series tournament with our daughter and grand kids. Boat ramp was very close by and convenient. House was very nice and comfortable. Will diffidently stay here again.

The house was very clean, and fairly easy to find. Our main complaint was a lack of comfortable seating for everyone in one area. There is not a living room or seating room with enough comfortable seating for 6 people.

The perfect lake house

This was our second stay at this beautiful lake house. The two bedrooms on the main level each have private access to the deck and both have wonderful views. The deck and porch swings are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. Beds are comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. I would definitely recommend this home!

A quiet spring break

We were looking to get away for spring break to somewhere that was NOT a crowded Florida beach! As indicated there was no cell service, but WiFi worked well enough to make calls and we wanted to be as “off the grid” as possible and Firefly was perfect. Our two kids, 12 and 15, had a blast with the kayaks and lillipad, and the couple of rainy days were no problem with the ping pong table downstairs and covered porches to sit and watch the rain and wildlife. Speaking of - there is a TON of wildlife to observe and enjoy. Lastly our hosts were super responsive - we had a few things that needed attention and they were immediately on it. The kitchen is very well equipped - with a remote spot we did not go out at all. And if you get in a pinch… the dollar general is 6 min away and has about everything you could need, or if you need it there’s a Walmart 20 min away - it just doesn’t feel like ANY of that exists when you’re at the house! It was exactly what we needed - thank you!

Christmas escape

We left WI to escape the cold. The cold happened to be everywhere this year. We were able to find time to relax and get away from work. Maybe next time we will get on the water.

Comfy, super clean, lake house

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Firefly lakehouse. Communication was great, the house was spotless, and all the extras (life vests, canoe, kayaks, etc.) made for an action packed weekend that left all the adults exhausted and the kids ready for more. We also highly recommend Smith Lake Boating Adventures, who drop off and pick up the boat at the house.

Alabama Getaway

My overall impression of the place was it was all that we wanted, privacy, a place to relax, and listen to the crickets at night. My thoughts on this property is that an older couple still can enjoy it, but bringing down kayaks, lily pad, hauling bag chairs down those stairs to the wharf would be a challenge. We would have just dove in the water and swam around and enjoyed the view. Younger adults, who are physically strong, can definitely handle all those water sport ammenities, if they want to. Overall, we had a great time there and hosts were very amenable to our questions. Being so out in the country, the phone service was pretty sketchy.. I'm glad we went with two young adults that could have helped us if need be. Thanks, Cheryl and Brian

Wedding at Smith Lake

My daughter got married at the Barn at Smith Lake, and we stayed at Kristi's cabin for the long weekend. It was just right. We used both bedrooms, the loft, and the basement for sleeping. Everything was in good shape; we even brought our boat and were able to keep it at the dock. Everyone had a great time.
