The place was exactly as advertised. No surprises. 6 miles to the entrance to MT Rainier National park. Enjoyed our time in the park and the location of the tiny house was perfect.
Check in was easy, great directions. Kitchen well laid out for small space. So nice to have salt and pepper, olive oil and sugar. Great location close to Mt Ranier NP entrance. Walk up small hill to cabin from parking. Very peaceful and cozy set in the woods. Perfect for couple. Must be able to climb small steps to loft.
Stayed here for two nights before my Rainier climb with RMI. This place is right behind RMI!! The place as spectacular. Nestled back in the woods. Super clean and quiet. 100% satisfied. Only nit pic, the place was a little hard to find, i had to message the owner. Its at then end of the road by the orange cone and you have to walk a short distance up a forest path. Loved it!
The location was perfect. We walked to the nearby pizza place and .enjoyed its outdoor dining and great pizza so kuch that we went back on our 2nd night. The home had a washer/dryer, though they were inoperable during our stay. The town does have a laundromat within walking distance. We were unable to get wifi or cell reception in the house, but we could connect to it from the parking spot, so we just went there when we needed to do a quick daily tech check-in. The tiny home has everything else you could need and the beds were super comfortable. Overall, we loved our stay and would recommend this spot to anyone passing through Ashford!

Thanks Deanna, so glad you enjoyed your stay and dining at BaseCamp Grill.
This is a nice tiny home for a couple - I wouldn’t suggest two separate couples stay here because it’s a little too small and there’s literally no privacy other than the bathrooms. There are two sleeping lofts on the ends of the unit but they’re fully open to each other. Maybe a family of 4 could stay here but I wouldn’t want to stay with another couple.
Having said that, it was pretty perfect for my wife and I to stay in. Be sure to read the instructions about how the tankless water heater works but once you understand it its actually quite slick.
We found the unit comfortable for our needs and the kitchen was quite usable. I’d stay here again if we come back to Mt. Rainer (which we very well might - quite a glorious place!).

Liked: Location
Clean unit, very comfortable beds and chairs, perfectly functional and located. A little difficult to find from the road, but that’s more the fault of mapping systems not identifying the road it’s on!
May be tight for 4, but has good amenities in cabin. Plenty of ways to stay warm and good privacy. Right near the general store. They had pods for the Keurig which was unexpected.
Door sticks a little and no puzzle in puzzle box but very minor things.
Would reccomend.
Good stay
My husband and I own and operate the businesses at Rainier BaseCamp. We love to hike, ski/snowboard, climb, and play on the local lake. You will often see us working around BaseCamp or getting in a hike with our pup on the back trail. We enjoy hosting guests from all over, whether they're coming to climb or simply to soak in the beauty of Mt. Rainier and the Pacific Northwest.
Why they chose this property
The rental properties are set on the edge of our private forest. We have built several trails for our personal enjoyment as a quick getaway into the forest during our workdays, and we love sharing them with our guests.
What makes this property unique
This property is unique, with a private forest where you can step into a sea of vibrant green foliage (from spring through fall), explore a one-mile, 500-vertical-foot trail, or simply walk the lower (flat) loop. You can walk from the secluded forest to the amenities at BaseCamp -- the Bar & Grill, Whittaker Mountaineering Retail & Rental, RMI Expeditions (Mountain Climbing Guide Service), and Whittaker's Bunkhouse Espresso Cafe.
