Charming and cozy getaway on 14 private acres in the Pennsylvania Wilds with all the comforts of home. 3 large bedrooms and 2.5 modern baths, a large family room with the most comfortable couch in the world, a dining area with views of a private pond and forested mountains, and a wraparound deck. Idyllic setting with woodlands and a private pond stocked with largemouth bass, excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, and stunning night skies, plus modern amenities. Fully stocked modern kitchen, large capacity washer and dryer, internet with WiFi, satellite TV, ecologically sensitive heat and a/c. The house has a Ring doorbell in case you have any trouble getting in and have no cell reception—just ring the doorbell and we can help! The A-frame is close to Cherry Springs, Sinnemahoning, Ole Bull, Prouty Place, and Lyman Run State Parks and Susquehannock State Forest. It is also near ATV and snowmobile trails, and convenient to the UPMC Cole Hospital and the amenities of Coudersport.

Peaceful & Relaxing

This property was very comfortable and homey, and the amenities were as described. The view was fantastic and in a very peaceful setting. The location was perfect, very easy to get into town. I would highly recommend this property if youre looking to get away from the hustle and bustle!

Great Getaway

Truly a wonderful property for a weekend getaway. Well maintained with a responsive host. Nice to be able to wander around the lake and nearby forest during the day and relax on the patio or at the fire pit under the stars at night.

We selected the A-Frame at Cherry Springs for our recent stargazing trip, based on the pictures of the property and its location - only 8 miles from Cherry Springs State Park. Communications with the host were excellent; Noelle responded to my text messages within minutes! Check-in and check-out were both simple processes. I set my telescope up on the roomy deck and enjoyed multiple nights of spectacular skies! What's not obvious in the pictures is that the property is right next to PA-44... everyone drives with their brights on and the bright lights are an annoyance. The house was clean and is kept in excellent condition. We're a retired couple, both with a pair of knee replacements; we struggled with climbing up and down the steps between the main living area (with the big screen TV) and the kitchen. We visited Cherry Springs State Park, Austin Dam and the WW2 Museum in Eldred; I wasn't expecting much from Austin Dam and the WW2 Museum, but they were surprisingly good and very much worth the time. Be sure to feed the fishes in the pond; it's a zen thing. :) All in all, an excellent property in an excellent location!

Great place to stay.

This home is very cozy. The deck is a great place to sit, relax and look at the stars. The kitchen is well equipped. The owners are easy to communicate with and answered questions promptly. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. One thing, make sure you bring all the food/drinks you’ll need as this property isn’t close to many things. Sheetz, Dollar General, McDonalds, nearby.

FANTASTIC Trip

The house was the perfect home base for a trip to the Coudersport area. It was welcoming, well-equipped, a great location, and comfortable. The stars were incredible. My kids loved feeding the fish in the small lake. The owners were friendly and helpful in all communications. From this house, we were within an hour from many fun and memorable locations. We would recommend this stay to family and friends.

Magical Stay

This property was beyond our expectations. We were blown away by the location, views, and amenities provided for our stay. The rooms are so comfortably set up and several areas provided to relax! We were able to explore several places around and enjoyed dark skies with a view of Saturn and Jupiter as well as were lucky enough to see Meteor! Cute and Comfortable

We really enjoyed the A Frame house. We all slept well and found the house to be comfortable for a family of 5. It was well stocked with necessities. We found the star viewing on the deck to be better than the dark park and more comfortable. During the days we slept in, played games and fed the fish. If you are headed to Cherry Springs we highly recommend this house.

Dark Skies and Beautiful Home

We loved the A-Frame Home. It was very clean and welcoming. The hosts were wonderful - thoughtfully provided everything we could need and many details about what to expect when we arrive. We traveled to several state parks during our stay, all very close to the home. We were blessed with cool clear nights - wonderful for seeing the stars from the beautiful deck. Since it was chilly, we also appreciated all the warm soft blankets and comfortable couches and beds to cozy up with a book. I traveled with two teenagers plus my parents so it was nice to have spaces to gather together, plus plenty of room to spread out.

Starry Nights

Noelle’s property was absolutely amazing. We were super lucky with one clear night and no moonlight so we were able to clearly see the night sky and all of its stars. We even saw a ton of shooting stars! The dogs also loved all the space to run around and even swam in the pond! We had a great time sitting around the fire pit making s’mores. A few of us even hiked up the hill that is behind the house. It was an absolutely incredible experience and we look forward to coming back.

Enjoy Nature Comfortably

Noelle and Jonathan maintain the perfect property to enjoy nature with all the comforts of a modern home with spectacular views. Fully equipped kitchen, soft sheets and throws, a jetted tub complemented by binoculars and flashlights everywhere. Get ready for heated boots, and hot air as you come out of the shower. Great book collection, fun games surrounded by nature prints and astronomical- themed art. Communication with owners was excellent. Unfortunately, we had cloudy skies, but the A-Frame made for a very comfortable vacation.

We had the best stay!

My family and I are so glad we stayed at this beautiful home! Everything was so clean and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. We had everything we needed from extra blankets to pots and pans. They even had some great games for the family to play in their living room! Everything was so well-labeled, too, making it easy to find things or know what switch was for what. Outside we enjoyed the fire pit and made some s’mores. The deck was lovely. We saw lots of stars, a few meteors, and the Milky Way from there! I brought my telescope and my family had our own little star party. The kids had a blast! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Why they chose this property

We wanted a place to escape to enjoy solitude and communion with nature. We enjoy wildlife, and the property teems with all manner of wild visitors. We enjoy mountains and water, and love that the house is nestled in the midst of forest, with a private pond and a stream passing through it. We also love the incredible views of the night sky that are available by either a short and easy drive to Cherry Springs State Park, or by taking a glass of your favorite beverage onto the expansive balcony and looking up.
Finally, while we wanted to be in the midst of nature, it comforts us to know that all the trappings of civilization are just a few minutes’ drive away on paved and well-tended roads.

What makes this property unique

A stay at the house is an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, whether it’s a hike in the woods, fishing in your private pond (or just feeding the fish), or watching the deer, turkeys, foxes, and maybe bears and elk that happen by looking for a bite to eat and a cool drink. It’s an opportunity to gaze at the night sky the way it appeared to our ancestors, before the modern world’s light pollution made most of the stars impossible to see in most places.

And at the end of the day, it’s an opportunity to take a hot shower and climb into a comfortable bed with high thread count all-cotton sheets.
It’s the best of nature coupled with the comforts of a modern, updated home.
