Comfortable cabin set in a nice area with view of the creek from the porch. Nice size rooms, very clean, with just about everything provided for your stay. Driving distance to several points of interest, PA Grand Canyon, Cherry Springs State Park, Kinzua Bridge, etc. Several small towns to walk around, especially nice was Wellsboro, you can spend a day there. All in all, very enjoyable stay.
My husband and I stayed at the Hemlock Hideaway for a couple of nights on an anniversary get away weekend. The cabin is in a great location. Easy driving distance to many of the surrounding state parks that we visited. The fall colors were beautiful in mid October! The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The gas furnace in the den works great and kept the cabin nice and cozy warm. It was actually nice to go off line for a couple of days with no wi-fi and limited T-mobile service. But, with no wifi it was difficult to map out our itinerary. Try buying a paper map anywhere these days. It's nearly impossible! I would still recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable place to rest, relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside of rural PA.
Great repeat stay at a picturesque cabin. You can’t beat the location. Fully stocked and just as described. Host is very responsive. All together this is a perfect, quiet and relaxing stay. We will be back!
The cabin was very peaceful and clean. We have stayed at the cabin several times because of the beauty surrounding it and the peacefulness of it. Love all the new updates. The owner has always been very pleasant and helpful with us. Looking forward to coming back next year. A sure 5 star all the way around.
Perfect place to sit back and relax. The cabin is well stocked along with everyday "essentials". We were impressed by kitchen supplies, laundry room and towel supply. We have not had that experience elsewhere. The most enjoyable was sitting on the porch and listening to the creek while the storms were moving in. Great weekend for all. Thanks so much!!
This cabin had everything we needed and is clean, cozy, and comfy. We were here 2 years ago and enjoyed it then and enjoyed it even more with the new upgrades. We would definitely return in the future!
The cabin was clean comfortable, and really well appointed. The owner was communicative and made it very clear that he was available if we needed anything. We had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it.
Rained most of the time from Monday Aug 5 to Friday Aug 9. Friday morning the creek rose very fast and started to flood the yard so we packed up a day early and left. Had a hard time getting out road was flooded. Went down route 15 and had to turn around because of flooding. Tried 3 different ways and all roads were flooded or big tree were down across the road aren’t back to route 15 and sat until they cleared the road. Finally got home 5 rs later usually takes 3 hrs. Made the best of it. Cabin was clean and very cozy. Would return again
The place was very clean. Only thing that was missing was the tv only had a few channels. Had everything that was needed to cook and bathroom was clean.
We stay here once a year and are always pleased with our stay! Every year there’s something upgraded and it’s always so clean. Me and my family look forward to our stay every year!
Property was very picturesque and welcoming. It had everything we could possibly need to make it feel just like home. Located in a private area with so many things to do nearby. We saw everything from natural areas to wildlife (like a bear in nearby Austin and elk in Wharton—and everything in between). We enjoyed cooking outside by the stream and talking by the fire before retreating inside to enjoy more conversation and a relaxing sleep. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back. Nice property upgrades. Host was very helpful and quick to respond. Highly recommended!
This was our family’s first time visiting Potter County. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The cabin provided all that we needed and the property was ideal with space to throw a frisbee, a flowing creek, fire pit and a great view of the stars. There was plenty to do within a short drive. We enjoyed the Lumber Museum, biking through the PA Grand Canyon, visiting Denton Park and fishing at Rainbow Paradise. We will definitely be back!
The area is absolutely beautiful. A lot of natural parks and beautiful downtown areas to enjoy. The cabin is very well kept with a lovely fire pit situated right next to the creek. Perfect for stargazing.
The cabin was very clean and cozy! Perfect place to unplug, see the stars, and connect with nature. Very close to Cherry Springs, but the stars were equally as magnificent from the cabin. Our second day was pretty overcast, so we took an hour drive to Kinzua Bridge State Park, which was really cool as well. The accommodations and experience exceeded our expectations!
This cabin was the perfect cabin and location for us. Very clean, easy check in, comfortable and peaceful. The stream was out of a storybook and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about it!

About the host
Hosted by Dave Donati
I've been visiting beautiful Potter County for over 25 years, and we never get tired of this special place and all it has to offer. Whether our time is spent fishing, hunting, relaxing, or riding our ATV's, there is always something to do. Since our primary residence is Northeastern PA and don't get to visit "God's Country" often enough, we would like to share our little piece of heaven with others.
Why they chose this property
Our cabin has everything you might need to unplug, unwind, and relax. From the inviting front porch to the clean cool stream and cozy fire pit, it is easy to feel life's daily stresses slip away. Our location is very convenient to many local attractions and recreation spots, but still provides the peaceful seclusion that you may be searching for. We have tried to stock the cabin with the items you may need during your stay, so just bring your food and drinks! Verizon cell service is available, though you may not always receive a great signal. DISH TV is also provided in the living room. We fell in love with this cabin at first sight, and we hope you do too. Welcome!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is located only 1.5 miles from Denton Hill State Park & Lumberman's Museum, 3 miles to the Susquehannock Hiking Trail and the Black Forest Trading Post & Deer Park, and only 6 miles to Lyman Run Lake and State Park. DCNR trails surround the area if you enjoy ATV or Snowmobile trail riding. We are also within 30 miles of the PA Grand Canyon, the Ice Mine, Cherry Springs Dark Skies star gazing and much more.
