About this property
2BR/1BA Cute 1910 Cottage - Walk Downtown!
Only blocks away from CDA Lake, CDA Resort, CDA Golf Course, Tubbs Hill, Ft. Sherman Park, McEuen Park and water playground, Lake Cruises and Free Outdoor Concerts. Triple Play, Silverwood and The Hiawatha Trail are a drive, but are big hits with the kids too! Our completely renovated home is beautiful and historic. You may be staying in a property that is over 110 years old, but the only telltale sign will be the uneven floors... which give it character, and your kids will get a laugh!
You will love the central location! The cottage is super close to everything Coeur d`Alene has to offer!
The first bedroom has a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom has a double bed. Two twin-sized pullout couches are in the living room. The cottage sleeps a total of 6. If you have a baby, there is a pack-n-play and highchair available.
Our family lived in the cottage before we built the house next door. Since we left it was completely gutted and remodeled. (We wish had done it for ourselves!) We are always available if you have any questions about anything happening locally or there is something that needs tending to.
Theresa is an avid triathlete. If you are coming to town to enjoy the many trails nearby, just reach out! She is happy to show you some great places to swim, ride, run and hike. North Idaho is beautiful country!
There is an electronic keypad on the main door. It is not the metal side door. Walk to the front of the house (opposite of the alley) and you will see the keypad.
Tap the screen to activate it. Then enter the last 4 digits of the phone number you used to make your reservation.
If you need anything, just give us a call or text! Theresa walks Tubbs Hill, bikes the many trails near downtown, and hikes Mineral Ridge often. She will be happy to take you along!
The neighborhood is set just beyond downtown CDA. It`s quiet and beautiful with huge deciduous, fir and pine trees. There are sidewalks to take you everywhere.
Our cottage has the best location! We are 2 blocks to the grocery, 6 blocks to the lake, 3 blocks to downtown, so getting around is super easy. We have a long driveway that will accommodate two cars. It`s off the alley, and just a couple steps to the front door, so getting in and out of the house with your luggage is short. The entry is flat - no steps to go up or down to get into the main door. We also provide lots of benches for you to put your luggage on, so it`s convenient to get into your things.

GUEST NAME McKaylin J. REVIEW SOURCE HomeAway TRIP DATE 2022-05-15 REVIEW SUMMARY It`s the Little Things RATING 5
REVIEW DETAIL When I first started looking for places in CDA, I was just looking at the price. I figured we could drive to where ever we wanted to go and we really just needed a nice, clean place to sleep. The DeWit Cottage met all of those accommodations and so much more. Not only was it clean and affordable, it was walking distance to town and the water. Theresa and Jeremy added little touches like a fully stocked basket of snacks, Keureg with decaf and caffeinated coffees, a basket of goodies you may have forgot at home (soaps, shaving razor, toothbrush, and so much more). Theresa and Jeremy went above and beyond from check in to check out. They recommend places to eat as well as to see and adventure out. All these little things made it the most enjoyable stay my husband, friends, and myself could have experienced!

About the host
Hosted by Jeremy and Theresa DeWit
We have been married since 2008, and have 5 children! We bought this home in downtown CDA, after 4 of the kids moved out, because we wanted to be close to all the amazing things downtown CDA offers. We love the dining, live music and easy access to trails for running and biking, and excellent swimming at 3 public beaches nearby. We lived in the house for 5 years, with our daughter. We have completely renovated it for your comfort and esthetic enjoyment. While we were doing the renovations, we looked at each other quite a few times, and wondered, why we didn't do this for ourselves 5 years ago?!?
Why they chose this property
Summer is so fun in CDA! Live music 4-5 nights a week, Car d'Alene, Ironman, 4th of July, boating, hiking, Farmer's Market, and amazing dining and shopping will keep you busy without ever needing a cab or car! The fall here is so beautiful with so many gorgeous deciduous trees, warm days and cool evenings.... which is great for biking. Downtown CDA is busy year round with events, live music, delicious dining and excellent shopping. Winter sports are nearby too! There are lots of trails for snowshoeing nearby... cross-country skiing and the mountains are not far, for winter sports and snow mobililing.
What makes this property unique
Our little historic house may be cozy, but you will find everything a small group will need. Theresa is an international flight attendant, and has traveled extensively. We have meticulously planned our home to be extremely traveler-friendly... benches in each room for your suitcases, 100% cotton sheets, and comfy duvets, makeup wipes, plenty of towels and beach towels too, and cooking essentials. If there is anything we missed, just ask! We are right next door, and want to make your stay with us amazing!
