Nice House, Quiet area, fire pit was great for A cold night by the fire, the view of marsh and wildlife make it stand out among other places to stay. We hope to return next fall!
I enjoyed the house because everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. I really enjoyed the outside space of the home and the grill was definitely a plus. One of the bedroom’s air conditioning wasn’t working properly so the bedroom wasn’t cool enough and some of the floors were a little gritty but those things aren’t enough to say I wouldn’t stay here again.
Great time with friends! The property was perfect for our needs. Bathrooms in every bedroom and king size beds in most. Plenty of space and refrigerators for all of our goodies.
The house is beautifully furnished and is in a secluded area which we appreciated! It is perfect for R & R! Located near shops and restaurants for when you need to run to town. Would stay here again and again!
This place was exactly what we was looking for. Clean, beautiful and had absolutely everything you need! Just make sure to bring bug spray, those mosquitoes are real there.

So happy you enjoyed your stay. We now provide bug spray :)
Absolutely the best Vrbo we have rented so far for our annual gathering of old friends. Lots of room with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, very well equipped kitchen and large gathering spaces , both indoors and out.
This property is ideal for a large group looking for a peaceful and private setting.
Loved the numerous decks and the dock overlooking the tidal creek. Great home for our group of 4 couples. Close to Darien and the Blessing of the Fleet weekend.
This house is an absolute gem and we had a wonderful time. It has everything to offer for a large group - lots of room and places to gather. We are already looking forward to returning next year.
Property was beautifully maintained and matched what the pictures show. This was the perfect house for 5 older cousins who used this property as a meeting point for a long weekend. Would definitely recommend

Thank you, Joseph, happy you and your friends enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you back soon.
Booked for a family Christmas getaway and glad we found a spot central to all. Had to reach out a couple times to manager and he was quick to respond and accommodated the requests promptly while we were there. The property is beautifull! The secluded area on the marsh offered stunning views and was just what our family needed for our time away. Glad we chose the Blue Heron Inn.

So happy you chose the Blue Heron as well. Come see us again.
I can’t say enough good things about this property! It was one of the best I have stayed at in all my years of renting… absolutely incredible in every way! The property is stunning; the house equipped for every need; everything is clean from top to bottom; and the owner is great! I cannot wait to return and I will!
We enjoyed our stay very much the house was beautiful and the view was terrific. The only problem was the stove we could not figure out how to work it but other than that everything else was excellent.
The house was great. Very clean maintained well. Everything was like the listing said it was so no surprises. Excellent booking process and great price.
This house was everything we hoped for. A private bath for each couple, plenty of space to hang out, and a well appointed kitchen with all you need. It's almost equal distance from Savannah or Jacksonville airports which helps if flying. Stephan was helpful and quick to respond as a host. We highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Stephan Roode
Nature-loving father with a mission to introduce as many people as possible to the wonders of our environment. When I'm not exploring the Georgia coast I am thinking about it :)
Why they chose this property
Nestled next to one of the most diverse ecosystems on this planet, the Blue Heron invites you to share in its beauty. To have the opportunity to introduce others to this magic by making the house available is a privilege. The house is large, to say the least. It easily entertains a big family. Up to 12 people. The large chef's kitchen is perfect for cooking big meals. I hope others experience the same magic I do when I visit. As a bonus Sapelo Island is across the marsh and easily accessible. A ferry runs daily and tours are available.
What makes this property unique
Sit on the deck overlooking the second largest salt marsh in North America. Experience the nature, animals, and environment that is in constant flux. Sit by the oversize firepit on the edge of the water and contemplate your future. Spot hundreds of different birds and listen to the sounds they echo over the savannah-like setting.
