Whether you're here for business or pleasure, we offer a comfortable and convenient home away from home.

The Space:
Our comfortable one-bedroom apartment, which features a king-sized bed, is the ideal place to begin your city excursions. There's also a working station in the living room to catch up on emails and finalize that critical business deal.

The one complete bathroom in the unit has a shower, basin, and toilet. To ensure you smell and look your best, we supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and fluffy towels. Taking a hot shower after a tour of the Windy City is the best way to refresh.

Because it features all of the essential equipment, utensils, and serving ware, you may create a five-course supper or practice making toast in the kitchen. A full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker are among the amenities. Take a seat at the table and begin devouring your delectable treats.

The Neighborhood:
Lakeview is a vibrant and bustling neighborhood located on the north side of Chicago. With a diverse population and a lively entertainment scene, Lakeview is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. The neighborhood is home to a variety of trendy restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as numerous shops and boutiques. From the beautiful tree-lined streets to the stunning Lakefront Trail, Lakeview offers a range of outdoor activities, including jogging, biking, and beach volleyball. Cultural attractions such as the historic Music Box Theatre and the famous Wrigley Field baseball stadium add to the neighborhood's charm and character.

Lakeview is located close to several popular tourist destinations in Chicago. For example, just a short distance to the east of Lakeview is Lincoln Park, which is home to the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. To the south, visitors can explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Wrigleyville and Boystown, which are known for their lively nightlife, trendy restaurants, and vibrant LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, the iconic Navy Pier and the world-famous Magnificent Mile shopping district are both just a short distance from Lakeview, making it a convenient base for exploring some of Chicago's top attractions.

Our neighborhood is an eclectic mix of one-of-a-kind stores, historical frame and brick houses, and locally owned cafes. It's a really inviting and eccentric establishment. This lovely "town within a city" is filled with relaxed bars, local stores, and adorable cafés that flow out onto the sidewalks during the summer months.

With its vibrant energy and lively atmosphere, Lakeview is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Chicago.

Getting Around:
Here's several ways on how to get to the property from the airport and downtown:

From the airport:

- Taxi or ride-share: Taxis and ride-share services like Uber and Lyft are readily available at both O'Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport. Simply use a ride-sharing app to request a pickup.

- Public transit: Both O'Hare and Midway have train stations that connect to the city's public transit system. From O'Hare, you can take the Blue Line train to the Belmont station, then transfer to the #77 Belmont bus and get off at the Marshfield & Roscoe stop, which is a short walk from the property. From Midway, you can take the Orange Line train to the Clark/Lake station, then transfer to the Brown Line train and get off at the Paulina station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the property.

- Car rental: If you plan to do a lot of exploring outside of the city or prefer the flexibility of having your own vehicle, you can rent a car at either airport and drive to the property.

From downtown:

- Public transit: The property is easily accessible by public transit from downtown. Take the Brown Line train towards Kimball and get off at the Paulina station, then walk about 10 minutes to the property.

- Taxi or ride-share: Taxis and ride-share services like Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout downtown and can be easily hailed to take you to the property.

- Bike sharing: Chicago also has a bike-sharing program called Divvy, which allows you to rent a bike from one of their many stations throughout the city and return it to another station. There are several Divvy stations located near the property, making this a fun and eco-friendly way to explore the city.

Other Things to Note:
We want you to feel right at home during your stay, so we kindly ask you take note of the following:

- Please be mindful of other tenants and keep noise levels down, especially during quiet hours.
- For certain bookings, we may require additional screening, government ID, and a security deposit.
- If you encounter any issues during your stay, please let us know so we can address them right away.
- To ensure your comfort, we install air conditioning units during the summer to keep the space cool and enjoyable. As temperatures drop in the cooler months, we remove the units to maintain energy efficiency.
- Hot Water System: The property uses a boiler system that heats water on demand. Hot water may take a moment to reach full temperature during high usage or colder weather. For safety, the boiler may reset temporarily if irregularities occur.
- Heating System: The heating operates automatically, activating below 68°F and cycling off when the set temperature is reached. Radiators lack individual controls, so heat output can't be adjusted manually. As outdoor temperatures drop, the boiler runs more frequently to maintain indoor comfort.

Thank you for choosing our apartment for your stay. We hope you have a wonderful visit and enjoy your time here!

Chicago apartment

We picked this rental primarily for its location. The nature of our stay did not necessitate much use of the kitchen but it appeared to be fully functional. Clean and roomy for two and bed was comfy. We just needed a bed and shower for this trip so we did not lounge around. Fairly close to Brown Line if you are sensitive to noise but did not cause us any issues. Third floor older walk up in nice neighborhood, especially in the spring time. Reported issues with shower to manager. Info requests for our age, occupation, DL copy, etc. right before we left on our trip were annoying.

Champagne price, beer delivery

My wife and I have stayed at numerous VRBO’s both domestically and abroad and this is the first time we have written a less than five-star review. There are a few items which elevate a short-term rental to the five-star level: Not asking for drivers licenses immediately upon reserving the unit Providing the unit address prior to 24 hours – so family and friends can determine where you are and plan accordingly Not asking when you plan to check into the unit – we paid, in advance, for a 3:00 PM arrival, why do the owners need to know when we plan to arrive? Furniture at least at the IKEA level (though, in fairness, the king size bed was comfortable) A bathroom window that opens Disclosures: the unit is next to the El train which is clearly audible in the bedroom, there is no elevator, and the winding staircase is difficult to navigate with a suitcase, this is an OLD building and, except for the hardwood floors, has not been remodeled. It was, however, clean. Welcoming documentation: nearby restaurants, transit stations, things to do, house rules, snacks, map of the area, etc. A chair in the bedroom Two luggage racks (not one) A dozen hangers (not five) An electronic lockbox (not a difficult to operate mechanical one) A keyring instead of a loose key Medium quality towels – and lots of them Needless to say, this VRBO had none of the above and thus earns a one-star rating from us.

The Worst Experience I’ve Ever Had

This was the absolute worst experience I have had with a rental. I have rented through VRBO many times and have never had so many issues as I had with this. To begin, we only stayed in the property for all of 5 hours due to the fact that when we went to lay down we noticed there were stains on the bed which smelled of urine. When contacted, the host said they would contact their cleaning staff to send out fresh linens. However, we waited from 6PM to 8:30 PM with no response and no fresh linens and were forced to find other accommodations unless we wanted to sleep on the floor. The host did not respond until the following morning (12+ hours later) asking if we would be willing to return to the property. Mind you, the issue was not fixed still and they said they would again send someone out with fresh linens as they had said the previous night and failed to do so. At this point, my boyfriend and I had already made new accommodations 20+ minutes from the rental and did not want to move back as we could not trust that it would be clean. When asking for a refund/resolution the host said they were “speaking to their business partner” which took them all day (over 12 hours!!!) to get us a response in which they just sent us the cancellation policy for another siteand not VRBO. Then sent us the correct link. So they do not even know who/where their rental is going through. VRBO has also failed to assist us with the issue. No refund issued. We did not stay in the rental. Disgusting!!!

Short stay for a concert a wriggly field

The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioners worked well (it was a very hot couple of days). Overall the place had everything we needed and was as advertised. The only suggestion I have is that it was on the third floor and the steps were steep. This was not a problem for my husband and I but might be for someone else.
