About this property
The Heron Haus, a Stunning Waterfront Retreat w/Hot Tub
Find us on social media @ The_Heron_Haus
Located on the WA Water Trail, the Heron Haus is an original waterfront home in the Manchester area. The 1935 cottage has been lovingly restored, featuring unobstructed views of the Puget Sound, Mt Rainier, Bainbridge Island, Blake Island, and Manchester State Park. Professionally styled by a hygge practitioner, guests are greeted with the utmost relaxing atmosphere. The waterfront deck is perfect for enjoying the hot tub.
Consider adding an exclusive on-site service to make your stay even more memorable! Use our store link to book an onsite massage, private yoga, kayak rentals, and more: https://app.thehost.co/1846/ Advanced booking is required.
Elopements and small events are welcome for an additional fee.
As hosts committed to sustainability, a tree is donated to the National Forest Foundation for each guest on a reservation. One tree sequesters one-half ton of carbon, fully off-setting your stay, including guests that arrive by plane.
Since purchasing the home, Alex and Colleen have created an homage to their global travels, with a particular passion for coastal communities. Guests will enjoy designer furnishings procured from Tofino to Byron Bay, with a bit of Mexico thrown in. Please note there are several pieces of vintage, cane McGuire furniture and we kindly ask you enjoy them with care.
Time slows down as you make your way to this quiet neighborhood and arrive at this one-of-a-kind sanctuary.

Two stand-up paddleboards, paddles, life vests, and leashes are available to rent between Memorial and Labor Day weekend. Guests paddle at their own risk and are responsible for any damage done to the boards. Tide chart is available in the kitchen pantry. Hazardous currents can occur, we recommend paddling only at slack tide, with low wind conditions.
To the right of the mailbox, you will find two dedicated parking spots. The backyard is fenced, perfect for yard games. An 800 sq ft. plus deck offers exceptional outdoor living space, complete with an outdoor dining table for six and a gas fire pit. There are NO railings on the deck. Be aware that children are welcome, but we can not promise a child-friendly environment.
Additionally, the seawall stands approximately eight feet above the Puget Sound and is not child-friendly. The owners are not liable for guests' safety. Enjoy at your own risk.
The community has a noise ordinance that prohibits loud volumes between the hours of 9 pm and 9 am. Events and parties are not permitted and will not be tolerated. While on the subject of things you cannot do, no smoking, no drug use, and no pets allowed.
For those looking to recreate, the Wynn-Jones Nature Preserve is approximately .5 miles from the front door. The trail is not regularly maintained but does offer a beautiful one-mile loop through the forest. Additionally, Manchester State Park is two miles from the cottage by road and .5 miles by sea. Bring your vessel and explore all that the Washington Water Trail has to offer. Wildlife and bird-watching opportunities are abundant from the comfort of the reading nook or the deck.
The cottage is approximately 10 minutes from the local downtown area and shopping amenities.
Instacart does service the property.

About the host
Hosted by Colleen Coleman
Founders of the Haus of Hygge, a design and marketing agency for short-term rental properties. Having traveled the world using AirBnBs, they noticed a substantial gap in aesthetics and guest experience. Alex and Colleen consider the Heron Haus and the Whitman Haus the embodiment of their brand standards. When not launching STRs for their clients or coaching other hosts, they can be found enjoying the great outdoors.
