THE LAKE
Cabin on Upper Klamath Lake bay at Point Comfort
Klamath Lake is home to 452 bird species and Eagles are often seen in the trees on the property. In the summer the trout come from all over the 94,000 acre lake into the bay in front of the cabin. These wild trout are a strain of steelhead landlocked in the lake 80 years ago. They average 2-3 pounds and fish over 8 pounds are not uncommon. This is a favorite spot for fly fishermen. There are miles of canoe and kayaking trails throughout the marsh. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the fish jumping in the lake!

PROPERTY and DOCK
The dock will accommodate up to eight average sized boats and comes with a ladder if you happen to jump in. The three acres of land surrounding the cabin are planted in rolling lawns, and natural plant species of the surrounding area. The gardens are beautiful in the spring when the lilac bushes and the flowering trees are in bloom. There are several large rock outcroppings to set off the gentle slope to the lake.

NEARBY
Rocky Point Resort is ½ mile down the road, accessible by car, a short walk, or a boat ride from our dock to theirs. They have a small store, restaurant with full bar, and boat rentals. Lake of the Woods Resort is 8 miles north on Hwy 140, a short 10 minute drive. Lake of the Woods features a restaurant, boat rental, store and excellent swimming beaches. The Running Y Resort is 15 minutes south on Hwy 140 which features bar and restaurant, convenience store, and a wonderful 18 hole Golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, rated as one of the top 100 in the U.S. Crater Lake is a beautiful drive, just 45 minutes north. Lava Beds National Monument a hour to the south. These are just a few of the many things to do in the Klamath Falls area.

Magical

On our first day here, my youngest son came running into our (private) room and told us we had to see the sunrise. I went out with him, and it was fantastic!!!! The cabin is adorable and comfortable. It easily slept five of us. Even in the chilly fall, it was warm. It had tons of “atmosphere.” Will we stay again??? We’re already looking at dates to go back!

Log cabin with lake view

The cabin is sort of in the middle of nowhere, but it affords a nice, quiet stay. It has a loft for the second bed which might be tricky for anyone with mobility issues but it was fine for us. There is a wood stove for heat and some fans for cooling. We were given a tour of the lodge. The inside has been beautifully renovated with antiques. Those roocomfortable.Aplace for a family

The views of the lake are just breathtaking. The cabin is cute but it’s a bit quirky with its extension cords and older pipes. We would definitely stay here again though!

Peaceful Cabin on the Lake

This cabin was perfect for our stay close to Crater Lake. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and having coffee on the porch. The cabin had everything we needed to cook each night and the bed was comfortable. It was warm during our stay but there was an AC in the bedroom which made sleeping cool & cozy! I would definitely recommend.

Cozy Cabin with lake amenities

Perfect place for a family. 45 minutes from Crater Lake. Julia, the housekeeper, was extremely helpful. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the lake, loved having the kayaks and got up early to watch the sunrise from the dock. The only downside is it’s 40 minutes to a large grocery store so would recommend shopping before you arrive. Kitchen is very well equipped- just perfect!

Comfortable quaint cabin near Crater Lake

We were very pleased with our stay at Rocky Point Lodge. Our family of 6 was comfortable in Cabin 2 during our 4 night stay. The cabin had just about everything we needed. It would have been nice to have toiletries provided like soap and shampoo, but it wasn’t a huge deal. We absolutely loved all the outdoor activities. The kids were able to go kayaking for the first time! It would’ve been helpful to have more information ahead of time about what exactly was available and included with our stay and what was additional (like renting the boat). The cabin was clean. The lack of AC in the main cabin area could be an issue for some on a hot summer day, but we were fine with all the fans and windows around the 4th of July. The master bedroom having an AC unit was also very useful. The space for luggage storage was limited, but that was just a minor issue. Overall we were very happy to rent this property that was relatively close to Crater Lake with many additional outdoor amenities. Thank you so much!

Great

in general just an amazing experience. Day of check-in some issues with the Wi-Fi that were mine. But password on slip of paper looked like a large c when it was lowercase so that was a little frustrating. Mgr never responded back. Also was told that there would be free kayaks use, with life preservers in box on the dock. The kayaks were there but no paddles and no life preservers.

Beautiful, rustic cabin

We came down from Salem to watch the annular eclipse in 2023. The cabin was perfect for a few nights to relax and have a comfortable space to watch the eclipse. It is certainly a small, rustic cabin that sleeps six and we had it full. It was perfect for what we wanted and everyone had a great time. The kitchen and living area was surprisingly well stocked for a small cabin. The cabin was clean, everything worked very well and check in/check out was easy. Everyone had a wonderful time and the grounds were beautiful. My wife and I enjoyed waking up each morning to the sun rising over the lake with a view from the bedroom window.

SEPTEMBER STAYCATION— UNSEASONAL

Peaceful, tranquil setting at Point Comfort, Upper Klamath Lake. Rustic cabin with modern amenities. Cozy and warm. Downstairs bedroom has beautiful views of the lake from its broad, curtained windows Saw flotillas of feeding white pelicans three days in a row. A real treat! Close to the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course at Running Y Ranch, the Upper KL Wildlife Refuge, and Moore Park in KF. The perfect staycation “far from the madding crowd!”

Cute cabin

This was a really fun cabin to stay in! It was a great out of the way place, and we had fun seeing crater lake and playing with the kayaks on klamath lake, which you can see from the house! The only reason i am leaving 4 stars is because we needed the pull-out bed and there were no extra sheets left for us to make the bed, and by the time we realized that, it was too late for us to call someone. So we had to go to the little laundry house and find some. Other than that, it was really a great place!

Little Cabin

Great old little cabin that was clean. It was quite with the sounds of eagles in the morning. They had an ac unit going upon arrival so not too hot on main floor. The grounds were a little unkept but not too bad. The water off the dock was not too deep. If your expecting paradise this will get you halfway there. But for the price it is a great deal.

Beautiful views

The cabin was perfect for my family if 4. We stayed in cabin 2. It was very clean and well equipped. We loved the rustic feel to it. The view of the lake is amazing and I loved how our cabin was tucked back a bit, for privacy. The area is very quiet. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing while we were there. We just happened to be there when the owner and some of his family were there. They were all so friendly and kind. My family has already asked about our next trip there. Thank you Bill for making our family trip a success!!
