Great location

Had a great time and experience at the manzanita retreat. My family and I were impressed when we first walked in on how well kept and clean everything was. Short walk to the dock and a great view from the outdoor patio deck . Would definitely stay again!

Bass Lake

A very nice property…..nicely decorated and convenient to lake. Would be nice to provide some lake “toys”, have a Keurig, and fix the umbrella on the dock to provide some shade. Overall very nice however!

Remembering a loved one

We were looking for a single level home so our elderly parents could participate in our memories of our brother who visited Bass lake every year and his birthday was the weekend we booked,this was a perfect place,roomy and beautiful..even walking distance to town and a nice boat ramp where you can enjoy the water..We had a special time and a great memory..thank you

The property was very nice and pretty clean. Expect that there was not enough cups and wine glasses ( there were plastic and looks old) Also, the curtains by the sliding door in the living room were very dirty and needed a wash. But, besides that everything was great and the view of the lake was beautiful. We will definitely stay there again!

Great location

We stayed for a long weekend with 2 families. The house was big enough and clean and the deck was nice. The dock was our favorite part of the property. Our only issue was the house was not ready at 4pm as stated for check-in. The cleaner was there so we had to wait outside for an extra 30 minutes.

Beautiful upgrades and design. If your one of those picky one like is, this modern upgrade doesn’t disappoint! Comfortable beds and big tables inside and out accommodating our family. Although the living room seating was undersized, only room for 4 - making it undersized to sit together to watch a movie. But oversized patio with views of the lake is my preferred rest stop.

Manzanita retreat review

Property and house were lovely. This was the best stocked house we have rented at Bass lake. The house looked immaculate when we entered. On closer inspection the floor could use a good washing and the stove top was greasy. But overall it was quite nice. It might be nice to include a few lake “toys” for kids. The dock is easily accessible and easy to dock a boat. It is probably not a good spot on the lake for children under 5 or 6 since we got a lot of wake from lake vehicles. We would certainly consider Manzanita again for our annual lake stay!

The house was fantastic

The house was fantastic and so were all the amenities. The kitchen alone is enough to book again for a family who loves to cook. The only issue was the nosy neighbor who from the moment my family arrived was keeping watch on us. We had family coming in at different times and from different directions (it's hard getting together) but the neighbor assumed we had too many people staying. Even though we had only 9 adults and one infant. The capacity was 10 people. We didn't let her ruin our weekend and we had a safe and wonderful time. The dock was great even though the water was too low that we couldn't actually use the assigned dock for our boat. All in all it was a wonderful experience and a lovely home.

Fun mountain getaway.

The house was recently, beautifully remodeled. The kitchen was large…….perfect for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. November weather was warm so it was nice to sit on the spacious deck. Because of the drought the lake is very low so to launch our kayaks we needed to slush through deep mud. It’s obvious the dock would be wonderful with a filled lake. It would be nice if the cleaning people would do a thorough deep cleaning before guests arrive. We had to vacuum under all the beds and behind the bedside tables so that we could sleep dust free. It’s unfortunate that the management company is miles away in Fresno. We were never sent the door code so when we arrived we sat outside for at least an hour with ice cream melting trying to get ahold of someone to give us the code.

We spoke to the cleaners about making sure under the beds are dusted better and apologize that area wasn't dust free like the rest of the home. Regarding the code, check in time is 4 pm. We agreed to an earlier check in and our system glitched in sending the code. You sent us a message at 3:37 stating you arrived and the code was sent immediately. We always strive for a smooth check in and are sorry to have upset the start of your trip with that slight delay. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay!

Nice with some exceptions..

Overall the property was nice but there were some exceptions. The floors were very filthy. We had to wash our daughters' feet and change their cloths multiple times a day just from walking or being on the floors. We even had to throw out some brand new socks because they were beyond saving. You couldnt get as dirty if you were rolling in the streets! What I didnt understand is that the house reeked of pine-sol when we first checked in. Couldnt imagine what the pine-sol was used for if it wasnt to clean the floors! Perhaps it was used as an air freshener?! Also, a neighbor across the street had their german shepard tied to a tree for the majority duration of our visit. The poor dog howeled, wimpered, and barked all day and night. It made it difficult to enjoy the patio and rather difficult to sleep at night. In addition, the bunks were rackety and squeeky. They were built of cheap metal and rather unstable. They made so much noise everytime our girls rolled or moved in them. Far from a peaceful night. Last but not least, the property management (host) refused to share a contact phone number. As a result I was forced to channel all communications, clarifications, directions, etc. thru the website. Imagine how frustrating it is when you have a quick question but instead of a making a call to ask, you have to log into vrbo, send a question thru the website then wait for an answer. Now imagine a few rounds of back and forth to clarify something. Unnecessary...

We are very sorry this guest was not completely satisfied with their stay as that is always what we strive for. The reason we require most communication to be done on the app is so we can look back to verify the chain of events, train if necessary, and have evidence to support any claims. We looked at time stamps and our messaging with Mishal was immediate each time. As we shared with Mishal, the floors were mopped several times prior to arrival (hence the smell of Pine Sol) however, the nature of the LV flooring is such that dirt had been going deep into the wood grain unbenownst to us. The top surface of the floor was clean but when socks were worn the fabric was able to push down into the grooves and pick that up. We offered to send the cleaner back to deal with it immediately, but we did not receive a response. Upon check-out a deep clean was performed on the floor (hands and knees, steam, rags, mulitple steps) and it is now spotless. It should not be that way anymore as the cleaner is now aware of what needs to be done each time. For those building a house or choosing new floors....know this happens! Unfortunately, we are unable to control things outside the house, such as dogs, especially when it is from other vacation rentals and we are glad that it is not a full time homeowner! Barking dogs can certainly be annoying. We are never happy when guests don't have a five star experience but are glad we were able to remedy this for future guests.

Thanks for everything! We have been visiting Bass Lake for the last 14 consecutive years. The trip was perfect. The house, the location, the amenities were all above standard! We only wish there was more availability during the week. We made some great family memories here! We will absolutely be back next year with a longer stay. I Reccomend to everyone to book far in advance. Thanks again!
