A Little Piece of Heaven in Maggie Valley w/Hot tub/Fire Pits/Bumper Pool

Our "Little piece of Heaven," Black Bear Cabin, is our 3-level log cabin large enough for 2 to 3 families to gather for that unforgettable vacation. Enjoy the large front porch with swing and rocking chairs or the covered back porch with comfortable seating around a beautiful cozy fire pit table. Take a relaxing soak in the hot tub after a long day of skiing or hiking. Cook s'mores at the firepit just off the stone patio, or play a game of corn hole. Inside, enjoy the cozy gas fireplace or play bumper pool & other games.

Main level features an updated stocked kitchen with stainless appliances and a large kitchen island with seating for four. Keurig and regular coffee pots available. The gorgeous dining table has seating for 8 and leads out to the large back deck with propane fire pit and hot tub.

The two story stone fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room complete with queen sleeper sofa, coffee table that raises up to become an eating table, and reclining chairs. The bedroom on this level has a king size bed and a full bathroom, with convenient stackable washer and dryer.

Upstairs, find another large king bedroom with en suite bathroom with double vanities, and connected to loft bedroom open to living room below, with single daybed with pull out single trundle bed underneath, and comfortable reclining chair.

Downstairs, find a second living area with a queen sleeper sofa and bumper pool/gaming table, and two more bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a twin over twin bunk w/ twin trundle underneath.

Large stone patio with outdoor seating can be accessed from either of the bedrooms. Relax in the double hammock just off this patio area.

Trout fishing is off-site and out of the neighborhood across the street and along Jonathan Creek. The public access pictured is near the Maggie Valley Golf Course.

LIMITED PARKING--PER STRICT HOA RULE, ONLY 3 VEHICLES PER CABIN. (No street or overflow parking.) Sleeping arrangements for 13-15 better suited for group with some children, and not as suited for a large group of all adults, as there are 2 sleeper sofas and loft bedroom open to the common areas.

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please hang any used towels on hooks or over side of tub.

Take trash to trash drop off on Mauney Cove Rd (address on info sheet). If Sunday check out (trash drop off is closed), put trash in bin at parking area and leave close to road for Monday AM pick up.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No more than 3 vehicles per strict HOA rule for neighborhood. No street or overflow parking. Towing is enforced by HOA.

Great mini family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and spacious. I especially enjoyed the porch with the gas fire table. Such a relaxing place to sit and listen to the steam in the mornings by myself and there was plenty of seating for us to all enjoy it in the evenings.

The Black Bear cabin was accessible, very clean and well equipped for a family holiday. The location is ideal for a short drive to Waynesville, tubing in Cherokee and events in Maggie Valley. The hot tub and porches were great!! Our family enjoyed the long weekend tremendously!!

We enjoyed our stay and were pleased with the accommodations. Our host was very gracious when two of our family members became ill one evening and they allowed us to have a late check out without any extra charge. This is an beautiful cabin that provided an escape for our family.

Fun Family Get Away

The cabin was beautiful. We pulled up to see all of the lights ready for the Christmas Season! The kids loved seeing the beautifully decorated tree and cabin. The whole family enjoyed our time there. My granddaughter was thrilled to get to sleep on the bunkbeds. We enjoyed our weekend very much!

Great Beginner's Ski Weekend

This was a great base camp for skiing at Cataloochee Ski Resort. We travelled as parts of 3 families to see how the kids would take to skiing. We were very comfortable in this coat cabin, and the hot tub was an added bonus at the end of a long ski day.

The cabin was amazing. Stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, etc and a full kitchen. Tania was very communative with any questions I had. Road was a little confusing ar first because we missed the one way sign but got it figured out. Kids loves it and the hot tub was such a blessing after long motorcycle rides

Trip to WNCCUMC at Lake Junaluska

Our whole family came for this trip to Lake Junaluska this year....FIRST time for a big family trip! We LOVED the cabin. PLENTY of room for everyone!! Spotless and the host thought of EVERYTHING!!! Even marshmallow sticks for the grandkids to use around the firepit! No one wanted to leave!! We all loved the hot tub and beautiful woods surrounding the cabin! The front porch swing was another favorite along with the hammock...and did I say it had 3 BATHROOMS!! We definitly want to come back! This was an experience our grandchildren (ages 4-11) will remember a lifetime! Thank you Black Bear Cabin!

Mountain Weekend

Had a long weekend getaway to go snow tubing with 3 Families.(6 adults ,5 teens) The location was amazing and very close to tubing. We had snow and the salt trucks were taking care of the road that morning. The drive from the house to food, attractions and blue ridge parkway were very convenient ..Highly recommend Soco Falls. The house was clean and well stocked. What you see is everything described. Tania was an excellent communicator from booking to checking out. We throughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.

Large family stay in Maggie Valley

I’ve stayed in a number of homes for vacation and business purposes, so, although no expert, I do have some experience staying at multiple locations and in multiple states. I know how difficult it can be to find just the right place to stay where everyone will be content. This home in Maggie Valley (Black Bear) had everything we needed to make my families stay very comfortable. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. First, the home owner was very pleasant and was very easy to work with. Second, the home itself was clean, roomy, and had plenty of comfortable beds and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make meals (bring your own food, of course). Bathrooms were well stocked with towels and TP (you don’t think to ask the question but some owners don’t provide anymore than what is on the current roll). We did not use the hot tub, but we noticed the owner left additional towels by the back door for those who would use the hot tub (this was very convenient and not something I’ve experienced before). Check-in/out was very simple. Also, I would like to thank the owner for having reasonable rules/requests and not the absurd list that others require. Asheville is about 35 minutes away and Gatlinburg is about an hour and 15 minutes away. If we stay in Maggie Valley in the future, it would be our privilege to stay here again.

I was not familiar with VRBO and a bit concerned. The owners were excellent and responsive to our questions. Didn’t have to check in and out with a realtor for key. Enough leaves gone for view of nearby mountains. King beds with one on main floor. Very cozy and close to main road . Well decorated. We were told in advance there are many steps to the entrance so it was our decision. Highly recommend

Great Maggie Valley vacation

We enjoyed the property, along with Maggie Valley, Stompin Grounds (only Saturday night 8-11pm), Motorcycle museum, Smoky Mountain park, Gatlinburg, Lake Fontana, Pigeon river rafting (though I would do the longer and somewhat rougher Chatooga trip for next time....), Cherikee village, and lots more. The hosts were very responsive, and helped us have a great vacation. Thank you!

Hi, I'm Tania, and my husband, Greg, and I have called Wilmington, NC home for over 30 years, where we enjoy the beach, fishing, surfing, and windsurfing, but we have always loved vacationing in the NC Mountains. We and our four children not only enjoy skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, tubing, hiking, and golfing, but enjoy the beauty and relaxation that can be found in the mountains. We became engaged over 28 years ago on Grandfather Mountain on Calloway Peak, and our fourth child, Calloway, reminds us of the start of our wonderful life together. We feel blessed by God to have had the opportunity to buy a 2 bedroom cabin in Sugar Mountain, and, more recently, a larger 4 bedroom cabin in beautiful Maggie Valley, to enjoy and share with others! We also feel blessed by the opportunity to share our guest cottage attached to our home near Wrightsville Beach with others as well! We look forward to hosting you at either cabin or our guest cottage and want to make sure you have an enjoyable time!
