You will enjoy touring "the island that time forgot" on either a rented golf cart or bikes, which are both available for rental. And there's no better place for nice long walks!

The wildlife is abundant and breathtaking. The resort is the home of a Great White Egret rookery, where you will see hundreds of these graceful birds settle in for the night. A nest of American Bald Eagles can be seen now and then, and some lucky visitors can actually catch sight of a Loggerhead Turtle coming ashore to lay hundreds of eggs in the soft sand.



You will want to spend time exploring the rest of this unique and special island. Accessible only by ferry, Daufuskie's isolation from the hustle and bustle of the mainland provides a one-of-its-kind experience for those looking to truly get away from it all.





THE ISLAND



Most of our visitors also take time to get to know the rest of this special island. Those who do quickly realize that they have discovered a hidden island gem just a short boat ride from the mainland. Quiet, laid-back, and unique, beautiful Daufuskie is described by old-timers as similar to Hilton Head before a bridge connected that island with the mainland. (Daufuskie's unofficial slogan is 'No Bridge? No Problem!')



When you choose this cottage for your vacation, you will find a perfect setting to experience a lovely low country island with a centuries-old cultural history, beautiful beaches, spectacular wildlife, and friendly residents.



The wildlife is abundant and breathtaking. You will be close to the site of a Great White Egret and Wood Storks rookery, where you will see hundreds of these graceful birds settle in for the night. Getting Around:

IMPORTANT: It is necessary to take a passenger only ferry or water taxi to Daufuskie Island, which is located between Hilton Head SC and Savannah, GA. You would leave your car on the mainland. Once on the island, you will need ground transportation from the dock to the rental and book a golf cart to get around. (Fees apply for all services mentioned) We will be happy to help with trip preparations!
