Nice getaway. Everything was cozy comfortable and relaxing. No frills or complicated check in. Hosts were very accommodating. Beautiful view of lake ( owners separate lake house residence) from dock.Perfect ! I am currently online checking out the cooking blog Can't wait to try some new and refreshing recipes! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Cozy homelike cottage, equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful week's stay. David and Penny were excellent hosts making our stay very pleasant and relaxing. Also enjoyed the spectacular views from the deck of the lake and mountains. We are looking forward to a return visit.

This was the perfect little weekend getaway. It had the warmth of a log cabin, and the atmosphere of a lake house. We would very much like to stay here again. The hosts were the nicest couple, and they made us feel at home the entire time we were there.

A beautiful and quiet place to get away. David was very nice and meet us on arrival to show us around. Chimney Rock is just a short drive away and there is another hiking trail close by. We didn’t get an opportunity to venture out on the lake but maybe next time.

We had a wonderful time, the lake is beautiful.We saw a lot of wildlife including deer, wild turkeys and a gorgeous fox. The dock we were able to use had a fabulous view of the mountains.

Beautiful little cabin on a wonderful clear cool lake. Can sit on the deck at the cabin or on the dock at the lake to see hawks, fish and other wildlife. The forest is beautiful. Couldn’t ask for a better location. It was wonderful and relaxing.

The cottage was exactly as represented. How refreshing. It was perfectly and thoughtfully furnished and stocked. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans and dishes. We ate breakfast and lunch at the house. Just what we preferred with our pet. The owner was very responsive before and during our stay. Perfect location to visit Lake Lure and Chimney Rock as it was literally in the middle of the two towns. The lake docks were so lovely and if it had not been chilly I would have kayaked. We went on this trip to check out the area cleanup after Helene. The owner was very informative about that too. Lake Lure looks pristine again. Wow!!! Chimney Rock is coming along. The pictures are on the owners docks, the rental and the area. Magical place that NC is lucky to have.

We were so pleased to be the first visitors to stay in this lovely cottage since the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Ours was a truly relaxing stay at this well-appointed, yet cozy cabin. Located just up the hill from the lake, it was a short walk down to the brand new boat dock with an elevated deck for clear views of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. The owners, who live on the property, were very welcoming and absolutely wonderful hosts throughout our stay. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life, a stay at this property will reset your center and renew your energy.

Five Oaks Cottage on Lake Lure is an impressive property! Very cozy, big enough for two to three people, and the dock has spectacular views of Chimney Rock in the distance.
