Craftsman Mountain Top Cabin with Views, Hot Tub, Fire Pit... DISCOUNTED RATES

The Main House, at Mountain Breeze Cabins was designed and hand crafted by your host as a retirement home. From your entry into the Kitchen/Living area you see that the house is full of tongue and groove pine paneling, oak floors, a stone hearth, granite countertops and tile. This design is carried throughout the entire cabin and is enhanced with a unique art collection.

The Cabin is Pet Friendly, It’s location and placement on the 17 acres at 3200 ft elevation was chosen for the long range view, peace of its’ surroundings, and the quiet that comes with the remoteness.

The single upstairs bedroom encompasses the entire floor and includes a dedicated office space and the master bath, which has a cast iron tub and tiled shower. As you enter the upstairs bedroom there is a 180 degree view of the mountain environment through a wall of windows.
The Hot Tub and propane fire pit are on the main, open deck with a view, along with an outside dining table and lounge chairs under the covered portion of the wrap around deck. The Hot Tub has an extendable, hand adjustable, awning.
You will find the kitchen well appointed with a wide range of utensils and the basic cooking supplies needed. You can chose between an eat at bar or a separate cozy dining table. There is a propane grill on the covered porch off the kitchen.

While our guests enjoy the seclusion and peace of the cabin there are plenty of activities off the property. It is only a short distance to hiking trails, Lake Lure Beach and Marina, Historic Lake Lure Inn, Chimney Rock State Park, restaurants, Lake Lure Tour Boats, local breweries and wineries, horseback riding, tennis courts, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, Chimney Rock Village and fly fishing on the Rocky Broad River! There are also two championship golf courses and a municipal nine-hole golf course in the Lake Lure area.
Asheville is 25 miles, Black Mountain 17 miles, Hendersonville 15 miles and the Tryon International Equestrian Resort 25 miles. The Blue Ridge Parkway and all that it has to offer is also within 25 miles.

Mountain Breeze Cabins consist of 2 rental cabins. All positioned for privacy and the enjoyment of the environment of the mountain top community. The cabins are available for group functions.

Mountain Breeze Cabins were substantially effected by Hurricane Helene. The cabins and property we not available for the past 18 months but have now been repaired and restored. As you move about the area and the property you will see signs of the damages and the restoration.

We believe that our guests tell our story the best:

M
Just perfect. The cabin was incredibly clean, well decorated and cozy. Modern upgrades mixed with the rustic charm of a proper cabin. The view from the wrap around porch and hot tub was fabulous. The nights were chilly which was a great excuse to use and sit by the wood stove.

You are out in the middle of nowhere which makes it more special- we loved driving back up the mountain’s winding, lush roads to get back after each adventure out. (Easy hike with AMAZING views just 10 minutes away Eagle Rock and Tunnel Rock).

Ryan and Tammy (the care takers) were fantastic- responsive, helpful, friendly and just great people. We would 100% recommend this spot to anyone and would stay here again.

S
Check in and out was just as described, easy. We didn’t see anyone until our last day of the trip and it was the property manager, who was very nice. The Main Cabin is beautiful. There’s stunning custom wood work and furniture throughout the cabin. It was also very clean. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, including spices. The hot tub was relaxing and clean. Overall, worth the money and we’ll be back.

B
Tony, and his care takers were very nice, and right on top of it if you needed anything, the place was great, with a great view and very relaxing, it’s exactly as described

B
Tony’s quiet little cabin nestled high above the twinkling lights below is a cozy, serene, retreat and the ideal place to go within and unplug from “the matrix”. Perfect for packing provisions and executing some serious culinary masterpieces… art supplies, journals & books too!

Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, North Carolina United States
Secluded yet close to neighbors! This is a small mountain top community of personal and second homes. The on-site caretakers/property managers live on the property 300 yards from the house. There are other cabins on the property and in the vicinity so you can have seclusion and comfort knowing that in an emergency there are others people about. Houses are all adequately spaced out so you feel the solitude and privacy you need.
The house is at an elevation of 3,200 ft. Be ready for curvy, sometimes steep but well-maintained roads. No public transport is near. Though there is an uber driver who services surrounding areas.
Once you leave the main highway you will be traveling a narrow, curvy, mostly paved road to the top of the mountain. Directions are provided in your check-in instructions to help navigate.
Our WiFi is supplied by US Cellular and is a cell tower based system. It has, over the years, proven to be adequate for communicating, streaming and working from the cabin. It will be slower than cable, fiber optic or what you are use to at home. TV is from a digital antenna that provides local channels.
You are welcome to sign into your streaming services on the Smart TV, please remember to sign out on departure.

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed a weekend trip! The cabin was clean and the perfect size for couples or small families. We brought our pup along and had plenty of room to take short walks at the cabin. I would recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a calm, relaxing weekend away from the busy city.

Quiet cabin with a refreshing mountain breeze

My husband and I stayed for three nights with our two small dogs. It was absolutely perfect for us. The cabin has everything you need. The bed is very comfortable. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the deck and since it has a gate, the dogs can stay outside with no fear of running off. We also loved the hot tub at the cabin and walking our dogs down the entry road. The restaurants and activities in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are just 20 minutes away. It was all a delightful escape from the city.

GREAT getaway!

Super nice dog friendly location - very remote. Cabin is beautiful and well kept. Appliances, bed, linens - everything was first class. Great views from deck / sunsets were a free show every night. A+++!! The only drawback at all is that we were surprised at the proximity of a smaller cabin - basically just across gravel driveway. However their deck is on other side of their cabin - it still felt private. Otherwise secluded mountain setting. Highly recommend.

Peaceful

The cabin was exactly as the pictures portrayed,( actually probably better).Have breakfast on the deck to watch the sunrise and watch the sunset from the hot tub. The bedroom has lots of windows perfectly placed so when you open your eyes you see the beautiful mountains. We had planned to go into Ashville but had a great time going to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure and hanging with the locals. Brought our boys,( dogs), and they loved sitting on the deck watching squirrels! Thank you for allowing us to stay at this special cabin. The decor tells a story that was not missed on us.

Awesome views

Our stay included days when the weather was below zero. The first morning we woke to the mini split not working. A text to the owner brought out the property manager and when we returned from town our house was toasty warm and the mini split worked the rest of our stay. We had amazing sunsets sitting in the hot tub. The fireplace was a plus. Love going to sleep with the windows next to the bed showing the stars. Great kitchen and living space.. Definitely a curvy road to the house, but worth the view. Guest house is a bit close, but curtains on the deck help with blocking view.

Secluded Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Mountain Breeze. If you are looking for a secluded getaway, this is the place for you. From the winding roads, to taking in the beauty around us - we enjoyed every moment of our stay. It is 15 minutes away from Chimney Rock. My husband and I enjoyed hiking at Chimney Rock State Park and visiting the shops at Chimney Rock Village. The owner of Mountain Breeze, Tony, was so helpful at answering my questions prior to our arrival (even when he was out of the country). The only problem that my husband and I encountered was not being able to connect to the internet in order to communicate with Tony if we had any questions during our stay. Our most favorite part of our stay was enjoying our time by the wood stove in the evenings. We are already looking forward to coming back!

Jessica, go glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry you had trouble connecting to the internet. Was it not functioning or did you have issues with the pass word. I have found that you have to unplug it and reconnect it if there has been a weather event. Most of the time it is stable. Thanks again, look forward to your return. Tony

Fantastic Home - Very Remote Location

Home was very clean and tidy. Kitchen was well appointed. Just note that the location is very, very remote and the road is two lane then down to one single lane. If you get motion sickness, be aware that the roads are extremely windy. View is gorgeous from the beautiful deck. We enjoyed the hot tub, the firepit and the gas grill. The exterior lighting is hit or miss. The path lughting never worked, but the flood lights turned on from a moth. We will definitely return, knowing the quirks. Oh and be aware of the stairs to the bedroom. I fell twice going up and once down. There is an awkward step up on the landing. It would be helpful to add a strip of reflective tape on the edge of the transition. All in all, definitely had a great experience.

Quiet get away, tricky to navigate, not everything disclosed

I enjoyed this cabin over all. It was clean, had the essentials and the online description of the interior was as described. There was no smell, which I know can be a 50/50 shot when you book a pet friendly place. I loved that there was a gated porched so the dogs could roam outside without having to be watched. My only complaints were: the outside signage to tell you where the front door was, was nonexistent. I had to call the on-site contact to figure out where the door was. There were walk way lights along the path….But none of them work functioning properly. If we hadn’t had our emergency flashlight to take the dogs out, we would’ve been in total darkness. It is also not started in the description that there is a small house right next to this cabin. As in, I can see inside and hear people. I didn’t love that as it wasn’t shown in the pictures of the property at all. Finally it would’ve been nice to know how the drive up the mountain was. By the time we finally made it up in the dark, we didn’t want to have to drive down it in the dark as well. In the binder at the cabin, it says to get your groceries before you come up to the cabin. Something like that should be in the online description or in the emails leading up to your stay. Ultimately these things wouldn’t deter me from staying here again. With the exception of knowing you have neighbors that literally park under your cabin. I did feel that the price was too much with all these things considered.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 December 2023
We are disappointed that Hannah was displeased with her stay at the Main Cabin. While we strive to meet and exceed everyones expectations we have found that it is sometimes unachievable. We have signage showing the location of the Main Cabin and it’s entrance, where the parking is located across from the entrance and a solar powered lighted sign at the light activated lighted path to the entrance and front door. There are working motion detector flood lights on three of the corners of the house and one on the porch by the entrance door. It appears that a recent prior guest had backed their car over one of the path lights, set it back up to appear as if nothing was wrong with it and left without acknowledging the damage. Had we known the system was down it would have been addressed by the on site caretaker. We readily acknowledge in our descriptions that there are 4 other rental cabins on the 17 acres and that they are positioned for privacy. The cabin she refers to is the Guest cabin for the Main Cabin that was built as a private cabin for the owners guest and friends. It is positioned so that both structures have their privacy and there is a carport attached to the basement level of the Main Cabin for the convenience of the Guest cabin. Part of the attraction of the cabins is the incredible views from their location at 3200 ft.elevation. The roads up to the cabins, as one could anticipate, are steep and curvy but well maintained and paved to within 1/4 mile of the property. Again, we are disappointed that Hannah was not 100 % happy with her stay. We hope she finds something more suitable in the future.

Relax and enjoy

Very nice property, with comfortable beds, a great space for my teens / young adults to play pool and enjoy each others' company downstairs, well-equipped kitchen, and a nice spot to sit outside on the swing in the quiet. Property was an easy shot to downtown or to head out for hiking and other adventures. Banff was very responsive. We had an issue with the toilets flushing and he had it repaired right away. The only thing that wasn't as expected was the pic of the house being by a river...you could hear and get a peek of the river but it wasn't close as the picture suggests and there was no access to it from the house or neighborhood, which would have been great. Overall, a great place to stay with a group to enjoy Asheville and the surrounding area.

Girls trip in Asheville!

We had a great experience, the house was clean and perfectly set up for larger groups. They have extremely clear instructions on how to use sound system, futon, washer, etc. We did lose power for a few hours but Banff immediately responded (even at 10 pm at night) and it was back on quickly. The hot tub was a great touch and the views were gorgeous. It is about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville in a quiet neighborhood. HIGHLY recommend!

Amazing stay!

Tony & Erin’s property blew us away. The photographs do not do this place justice! The cabin is secluded, but close to multiple trails and attractions. The cabin is also impeccably clean, cozy and inviting. The kitchen is top notch, the wood burning stove is great on chilly evenings, the views are killer and the best part - it’s dog friendly! Second Time, Even Better!

We came back to Mountain Breeze exactly one year after the first visit, and are still just as smitten! The property was newly listed last year, and it was just as clean and perfectly kept up now as it was then. We will be back again, for sure. FYI there are plenty of small amenities available such as spices, plastic baggies, etc. which is nice not to have to buy before arriving. The wood burning stove is so enjoyable, and the view from the living room and bedroom are spectacular. Eagle Rock is a short drive to access, but make sure you look online and reserve a parking spot in advance. We didn't do that, and parked illegally so that we could snap a photo quickly. There are only 8 parking spots, and you need a code to unlock the gate once you reserve one. Thanks again to Tony, Erin and AJ for a perfect stay! - The Dabneys

Hideaway In The Woods

Cabin is right sized, well built, and beautiful inside. Perfect for a quick weekend away! Beautiful, long range views through the trees and a perfect place to unwind. Easy striking distance to local amenities and outdoor activities. Location is relatively easy to get to though could get dicey in wet or winter conditions depending on vehicle. Had a few snafus on check in and readiness, but nothing terrible, but is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars...would stay again for sure!

Great service from owner and care takers, incredible property and views, great place and location!

From start to finish, I can safely say this was my favorite and best experience I’ve had on a vacation rental. The owner was very good with communicating and the caretakers (who live up the road) went above and beyond to accommodate my wife and I. This is a real craftsman house nestled on a rolling slope at the top of a mountain. All amenities with high end kitchen. Huge porch overlooking the local mountain ranges. Tons of room for the dogs to roam free. Went up the road (3 min drive) to do a short hike (recommended by caretakers Erin, aj, and owner tony) to eagle rock. Best views I’ve seen in the area. Great service, location, and value. I will absolutely be renting this place again for our next stay in the area!

Look no further - this is the PERFECT mountain cabin getaway: peaceful, romantic, modern.

I cannot emphasize enough the perfection that is Mountain Breeze cabin. My husband and I eloped in Charleston and drove to the mountains afterwards. I looked at every single listing that was available on VRBO within my price range, and ultimately chose Mountain Breeze because it looked cozy for two people. If your list of "must haves" matches mine, then seriously stop looking, and just book. The photos/description do no justice. Mountain Breeze embodied everything listed below to the ultimate degree of perfection for us, including: - Mountain cabin feel (beautiful solid wooden floors, walls, ceiling, stairs, etc) - Long mountain views (insane sunset, lovely wooded area but you can see the mountains in the distance) - Private and secluded (we never saw another car) - Updated appliances (nothing was stuck in the 80s) - Fully equipped kitchen - Working fire place (we mastered the wood burning stove!) - Comfortable furnishings for enjoying sunsets and wood burning stove watching - Clean, modern aesthetic but still cozy - Close enough to town/hiking Beyond my shortlist, I was thrilled to find upon arrival that the house itself is masterfully crafted, and no detail was overlooked. We were provided with every amenity we could ever need during our short stay, and Tony included detailed instructions for how to access Eagle Rock, which basically feels like your own private hike. Additionally, he has beautiful art and interesting artifacts thoughtfully placed around his home. The house is much bigger than it looks in photos, but still very cozy feeling. It was the epitome of a mountain retreat. We really were sad to leave, and can't wait to come back, which we've vowed to try to do at least once a year. Stop searching, book this cabin. You will not be disappointed.
