Jackson’s 12th B-Day Bash!

A perfect mountain house on the Toccoa river! Plenty of space for everyone, the kids enjoyed competing at ping pong, fishing and tubing down the river! A perfect quiet spot with a spectacular view and with so much around, we visited Brasstown Bald, Vogel State Park, the swinging bridge, fish hatchery, down town blue ridge and lake blue ridge! All within a 40 minute radius!

Mountain Paradise on the river

Awesome home on the river, but I was not fully prepared for the laws of fishing in the State of Georgia so I didn't do any fishing but other than that it was purely relaxing, campfires, easy access to shopping in Blue Ridge and excellent mountain views

Beautiful property

The property is nicely located right on the river. Pretty much everything you need is there, our weekend was wet with rain so we ended up cooking in the crockpot. The porch is nice to sit on and listen to the river.

Perfect to get away and recharge with family and friends

Toccoa River Cabin was a great place for us to stay. It's about 30 minutes (give or take) from Blue Ridge and extremely peaceful. Living room was perfect for a marathon of movies and is stocked with a number of DVDs plus a Roku. Dining table was great for games and craft, again, a nice stock of games as well. Even with less than ideal weather, we were able to get out and fish on the second full day and caught 3 very nice trout on fly rods, landing one of them before releasing it back. Nightly had visits from a large number of deer in the front/side yards. Also saw the resident otter hanging around the small dock and playing in the back yard.Communication with the host was great - they were extremely receptive and always got back to us quickly with answers to any questions. Will definitely be back next year!

Relaxing

Our first trip to the cabin was in 2011, we stayed one other time after that before we outgrew it due to our expanding family, Grandkids. We love the Suches, Toccoa River area. This visit was for my wife and I as well as her parents. Far and away our Most favorite cabin to rent. The Browns are very interested in you enjoying your stay and will make sure the cabin is in top top shape. If you are looking for a cabin in this area and this one is available, BOOK IT

Cozy Mountain Stay

We loved our stay at Brown Cabin. You drive into this cleared land nestled in the mountains to find this beautiful log cabin on the river. The home is decorated with beautiful furniture, Christmas decorations, and a warm inside fire place we sat around watching college football. The back yard has a nice fire pit with four benches around it. The deck overlooking the water was our hang out. When i look for a cabin for our family, it must have the following; Flat land to water, fire place inside and out, and able to catch fish! This cabin checked all of that. My boys caught tons of different trout and we were blessed with a snow fall. We will definitely be back.

A Vacation to Remember!

After a shaky start, a power outage soon after arrival, we had a fantastic time. The weather was great, we grilled, and visited with our own children and grandchildren. We saw a plethora of wildlife including: a juvenile bear that walked the entire porch from front stairs to back stairs passing by my husband as he sat looking at the river; numerous deer each morning and evening while walking Woodeye Circle, and twin fawns played in the front yard on day three; a snake made an appearance in the river, the fish visited daily and each trip into town presented sightings of raccoons, opossums, rabbits, and more deer. We will share these memories for s lifetime and we have you to THANK for loaning your beautiful family retreat to our family. We hope to visit again! ~ Sincerely, The Armstrongs, Rankins & Pattersons (and Daisy our dog)

River Cabin Stay

First impression was amazing! I read all the reviews and feel like our situation was not the norm-however, this was not a pleasant trip for us. We had some MAJOR issues with bugs. We checked in on Saturday, so an exterminator wasn't available until Monday at 4pm. That made for sleeping on couches downstairs for 3 of our 6 people. The owner did what he could to help, but service was spotty and landlines were the best communication, which tied us to the property. A plumber (not available until Tuesday) also had to be called in to unclog the jacuzi tub that we were never able to use. The owner refunded me 1 night, however the bugs folllowed us home, so now we have an even more costly situation to take care of.

CABIN WAS FILTHY NASTY!!! LEFT EARLY

Very disappointed. After driving 6 hours to get there we tried to look past the issue of having to wait hours for propane heat and well water to work BUT the place was gross. There was hair in the tub, feces in the toilet from an incomplete flush I suppose, dead bugs on the floor, grime and droppings in the cabinets and draws, sheets were so balled up we had to pull the bedspread back to make sure it wasn't bed bugs. My 79 year old mother slept with toilet paper in her ears because she was afraid she'd get bugs in her ears. She had to sleep upstairs because it was warmer and we still had to pile extra covers. We left first thing the next morning even though we had paid for 2 nights. I only wish I could share the pics I took so people could see before they waste their money.

My family and I loved this house, it is a comfortable house in a beautiful country atmosphere. the house is convent to the town of Blue Ridge, and only about 30-40 minutes to Vogel State Park, but we were perfectly happy to sit on the back porch or the landing right on the beautiful Taccoa River. I hope to return to this house again to hike some of the nearby trails - or just relax and watch the trout in the river - or maybe tube the river next time. if you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is the perfect spot.

Peaceful, gorgeous. The cabin has plenty of space, tastefully decorated. Really enjoyed late afternoons on the back porch watching the creek river flow past. If you plan on fishing for trout, you havec400 feet of river right in fronnt of Brown cabin. Otherwise find a different area. It was fine for us as my husband is a newbie. You can day trip to Blueridge, catch the scenic railway and wind up in McCaysville GA AND CopperHill TN. Blue ridge is about 35 to 40 mins away, Helen Ga is a little over an hour away. Dahlonega is about an hour away. So you have many places to visit, and ther are parks in the area, too with water falls. That is our next visit. Loaction is key with The Brown CabinEnjoy!

My wife and I live in Gainesville, GA (a little over an hour's drive). We were approaching retirement when we bought this cabin. We are both retired (elementary teacher and pharmacist), and LOVE spending time at our second home. We know you will love it, too!!

Why they chose this property

We chose the Suches area to purchase our cabin because it is close enough to our home so that we can use the property, but it is remote enough to 'get away from it all'. This area also has all of the things that we enjoy such as hiking, kayaking, and trout fishing to name a few. We are also close enough (30 minutes) to golf, live theater, stores, movies, etc.

What makes this property unique

We love spending time in the mountains! Our property has 400 feet on the Toccoa River that our guests can use to catch trophy sized trout( catch and release) or just sit on the deck and watch the water flow by and relax. Excellent tubing and kayaking is right at the back door. Great hiking to numerous waterfalls, The Benton Makaye Trail and The Appalachian Trail are close by. We also enjoy viewing the wildlife! Deer and turkeys can sometimes be seen strolling the field in front of the house. Of course viewing the different colors of the mountain views is spectacular! Our cabin is large enough to accommodate our growing family, but priced so that it would make a great romantic get-away for a couple. We know you will love this area as much as we do.
