The Big Chair River House is located on the banks of the beautiful and clear Toccoa River - our largest river in the Trout Fishing Capital of GA. Perfect for up to 4 adults max and 4 kids, 8 max total.
Located in the center of the popular Aska Adventure Area and only 9 miles/15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge. Our 3 BR / 2.5 bath home has been completely renovated/upgraded over the last few years. A lot of love has gone into this home. We think you will love it, too. Make note we are a no pet property.
SECURITY CAMERAS ON PREMISES
There are surveillance cameras monitoring the parking area, side entrance steps, and firepit side of the home. They detect motion and do not record continuously. The are there for security and insurance purposes. No cameras on the inside of the home.

THE EXPERIENCE
When you walk into our home, you will instantly feel relaxed with our completely updated interior. This house is just the right size for one or two families to relax and enjoy the outdoors and come home to comfy family time. Plenty of space to relax and take in the soothing sounds of this gorgeous river.
There is a large double deck (1300 square feet of space) with ample seating, eating areas and a bed swing to enjoy (try sleeping outside, it's amazing!). You and your guests are in for an amazing view of the river from either the main level front porch or the upper porch. There is a deck on the river where you can enjoy time, uninterrupted, listening to and watching the river and wildlife (Kingfishers and deer are daily sightings).
When you are ready to enjoy the river, you can step right in! Bring your fishing gear as you can fish off our private 10” x 12” deck on the riverbank. Also, bring your tubes to tube the river (don't forget your beach towels)! You can light a fire in our large fire pit and enjoy s’mores or stargazing, the firefly show in May/June is amazing! When it is raining, there are plenty of fun games and family movies to enjoy while tending the fireplace inside. With extraordinary indoor and outdoor spaces, you will be sure to enjoy an stress-free vacation with all our home has to offer.
The house is surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs in the spring and summer, and you cannot get a more amazing view of the changing leaves along the river in the fall than the one from our decks, especially the one directly on the river.
The Tristate Adventure Area, as the area in general is known as NC-TN-GA all come together in northern Fannin County, is an outdoor adventure seeker's wonderland. A few days just isn’t enough time to see and experience everything the area has to offer. So, consider booking a longer stay.
Now about the Blue Ridge, GA area. Stunning views, hiking trails, waterfalls, wineries and craft breweries, galleries, shops, u-pick farms, and friendly people. The town of Blue Ridge is located in Fannin County which offers 106,000 acres of Chattahoochee National Forest, 300 miles of hiking trails and 100 miles of trout streams (Fannin County is the official Trout Fishing Capital of Georgia), Blue Ridge Lake, and so much more.
The house is a short walk or drive from Lilly Pad Village (you will see it when you turn off Aska Rd to head to our place) for all day fun Gem mining, fishing and Putt Putt golf. Perfect place for all the young kids. Other activities nearby include popular waterfalls, great hiking and mountain biking trails (minutes from Aska and Benton MacKaye Trail systems).
Great dining and shopping in the quaint and bustling downtown of Blue Ridge, 9 miles away. And the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant is a short drive from the home on Aska Rd. Be sure to make reservations at the higher-end restaurants.
There may be some firewood in our shed, but we do not supply firewood for the outdoor firepit or inside woodstove insert, please bring enough for your time at our home. If you do not have experience starting a fire, we suggest you brush up on that before you arrive if you plan to burn wood. Most of the local Big Box stores and convenience stores sell bundles of firewood as well as private local folks.
Swim at your own risk. Keep in mind, sometimes the river is very fast and deep. Sometimes it is very slow, and shallow depending on how much rain we get.
Trash should be placed in the wooden bear-proof bin and all trash must be bagged and tied before placing in the wooden bin. No loose trash, our pickup service will not collect loose trash.
Guest access:
The entire home except owner's locked personal items closet, supply closet, and under porch storage.
